“Our?”

“I meant my father. Sorry, slipped my tongue. I wonder if my sister would be here,” Sulli quickly covered herself up before Yuri asks her questions again like what happened back at the childcare centre.

“Oh. Let’s go up, shall we? But I really don’t think your sister would be up here though,” Yuri took the initiative to climb up and went in the tree house.

She might not be here, but her memory is somewhere in you, Unnie. Fighting!

Sulli came up behind her, Yuri was already standing by the ‘window’ of the tree house. She was amazed by the rice field which was beautifully crafted in a beautiful pattern if seen by an aerial view. Which is what Yuri had the opportunity to look at.

“That field is Dad’s. I mean my Dad’s. He used to takecare of them and export rice to the locals and went to stretch his market and export them internationally,” Sulli explained and walked towards Yuri, who said nothing at all. was left agape, she felt like she was into a whole new different world of beautiful nature.

Never did she thought nature could be this beautiful when they’re taken care of.

“But my dad doesn’t export rice anymore after he lost my sister. He sold the rice field and moved on to a whole different business altogether, which I don’t bother to find out now,” she shrugged. “You must be amazed by the pattern, huh? My mum made that out. It looks a bit like a labyrinth somehow, right?” she chuckled as she join Yuri who was admiring the view of nature.

Yuri took a deep breath and turn her head a little to take a peek at Sulli.

“It’s pretty amazing, you and your sister must have enjoyed life. Being rich and all. I’m sure your sister is somewhere out there okay? I promise, that I will look after you until your sister’s found,” Yuri smiled as she gently embraced Sulli’s hands in hers. That minor action just assured Sulli that everything will be alright. Just by that action, she felt that tinge of hope of getting her sister back after she lost her memory.

I’ve stopped enjoying life until you left me, Unnie.

“Well, enjoyed life? Not really. Considering they’re always busy with the sales of rice,” Sulli joked. She was touched, for someone who doesn’t remember her, sure does have a lot of commitment. Oh come on, who is she kidding? It’s her sister we’re talking about here. “Thank you, Unnie.”

Yuri paced the room, looking for clues to get any information about Sulli’s sister. While Sulli pretended to do that same, she couldn’t help but let out an inaudible chuckle to herself. Her own sister who lost her memory, trying to find herself, what a joke.

“Sulli-ah, look!” Yuri picked up a piece of note that has stick man drawings in ink. The note is yellowish and smothered with blots of ink, it was crumpled and had a lot of wrinkled lines everywhere. There are 4 stick mans on the paper, two girls, a man and a lady, judging by their ponytails and 5 lines on the stickman’s hair and also their height drawn on the paper.

Sulli walked over to her, curious as to what she was called for. Behind Yuri’s shoulder, she saw that piece of paper that she’s holding. Shocked, that paper is still lying around this tree house for years!

I remembered I drew two, for myself and Unnie. Where’s the other?

“Wow, whoever drew this has really poor aesthetics,” Yuri said as she looked at the paper.

“Well that person with poor aesthetics is me,” Sulli glared at her and folded her arms as she sulked. Yuri couldn’t help but let out a helpless snicker.

“Mind you, Unnie. I was only 8 or 9 back then. I probably haven’t develop any aesthetic skills at that age.”

“Hoho, so you’re saying you have developed artist skilled drawings now?” Yuri rolled her eyes as she went back to staring at the drawing that seem to tell her something.

“I didn’t say that!”

Then suddenly, everything went silent. Yuri’s mind suddenly went blank. She couldn’t think straight, the drawing brought her mind to somewhere she couldn’t see it clearly. Her vision of her surroundings became unrecognizable as her vision manipulated to a somewhat she thought it as a memory of her own past. She saw herself being pushed by orderlies on a gurney in the hospital’s corridor, crying silently. Taeyeon was there too, crying so badly chasing after her. Not far from Taeyeon, was a man who stood there helpless and lifeless as if life had betrayed him with his tears left unchecked. All of it felt so real, but felt more real as ever was that she noticed and felt a paper in her palm, the drawing she saw not long ago at the tree house.

Her head gave different waves of excruciating pain. The veins were starting to appear at her temples. Her head hurts so bad and it keeps throbbing with immense pain. Her face is pinched with her eyes tightly shut. She forced herself to keep the vision going, but everything went black and white like a television that shows weird transition when there’s no signal.

Cold sweats starts to form, she could barely hear Sulli calling her. She tries to ease her throbbing pain by squeezing her head with her hands. Then hitting her own head with her palms. Doing everything she could to stop the indescribable pain.

“Unnie? Unnie?! Gwenchanayo?!” Sulli shook her sister. Seeing how much in pain her sister was in, she started to panic.

“I’m okay, I’m okay. I just need to rest, must be fatigue. I’m quite a workaholic, you know?” she tried to joke with Sulli, trying to assure her that it’s alright. “Can we rest somewhere?”

“Sure, I’ll bring you in to the old house.”

“I’m sorry, the sofa is the only thing the house has for you to rest. Fortunately there’s a cup here, but there’s only tap water… Is it okay with you?” Sulli said with guilt rushed through her body. She knew her sister must have that painful migraine if she recalls something and force it to continue for as long as she wants. She must have made her sister think too much unintentionally.

Did the drawing reminded her of something?

“Tap water is fine. Thank you, Sulli-ah. Sorry that you have to do this for me,” Yuri said. Her voice is frail as she tries to grab hold of Sulli’s wrist before she gets a cup of water for her. “Gomawo.”

Sulli nodded and smiled. 

Back in Seoul, 0146.

“Where is she? Why isn’t she home yet?” Jessica paced the bedroom with her arms folded and her face, sulky.

 She might be fooling around behind your back.

“Ani, aniya! That’s impossible, Seobang won’t cheat on me!” she quickly defended her girlfriend when her mind attacked her.

Relax, she’s doing something great outside. Don’t worry!

“Yeah.. yeah, that’s it!” she snapped her fingers and smiled to herself.

“What’s it?” a soft and tender voice spoke from behind, footsteps almost inaudible came towards her. She was pulled into an embrace from the back, hugging her tightly yet, securing her. That’s not any hug, she could recognize that embrace anywhere.

“I’m home, baby.” Yuri yawned but only to have covered by her girlfriend’s hand.

Jessica solemnly wrapped her girlfriend’s neck. “Where were you? You left home very early and you didn’t answer my calls.”

“I’m sorry dear, I was out to help my friend out. And we went out of town, which was a 3 hour ride and we had a very very late dinner and all. I’m really sorry, I-”

“You weren’t cheating on me right?”

“Of course not! Why would I?” Yuri snapped defensively, her eyes widen. Shocked by Jessica’s assumptions.

“Good. I just needed to know that.”

“Well, you don’t have to worry," she pecked on Jessica’s lips and smiled. "I’m not going anywhere without you.”
