MINISTORY ONE: IN WHICH A COFFEE MACHINE IS BROKEN
Dajung was now in the fifth poem – ‘Singing didn’t echo’ by Lim Kyung-sup – from the book that contained a compilation of various poems written by Korean writers. Park Jihoon, one of her various schoolmates and same age friends, had bought it for her with the help of her best friend, Mark Lee.
Her fellow members – Kim Jangmi, Zhao Meilin, Chan Kyulbin and, Kim Saeron – were all absent from the dorm they shared as they had individual schedules to follow, and so did she. However, when she came down with the flu, Seojun kindly reduced her work schedule, for the sake of her own health and the sake of the people she would be working with.
Having the desire of drinking a latte macchiato, Dajung moved from her spot on the couch and with a blanket wrapped around her, she made her way to the kitchen. Her eyes traveled several times before landing them on the renowned coffee machine that is used, at the very least, four times in an hour span by none other than Zhao Meilin, Ethereal’s official coffee addict. And, without a doubt, by Kim Jangmi, the leader that fails to form a coherent sentence without her daily 3 to 4 cups of coffee. On the other, Chan Kyulbin was an avid coffee disliker alongside Saeron who made sure to stand as far as possible from the coffee machine. In the middle of the entire ordeal, stood Dajung who only drank coffee when it was overpowered by milk which Jangmi and Meilin classified as ‘a disrespect towards black coffee.’
Carefully, she the coffee machine. As she waited for the coffee machine to heat up, she prepared everything else including steamed whole milk and the choice process of a mug, that wasn’t too big nor too small for the quantity of milk and coffee she would be putting in it.
As the coffee poured from the machine, Dajung, lost in her thoughts, puckered out her lips and mind absently stared at the wall in front of her that was slowly turning into a masterpiece. Shaking her head, she slightly glanced at the machine.
“Why aren’t you working?” she questioned. “I don’t know why you aren’t working.”
