"Mwuh?"

That's the reaction that everyone gave. Everyone including the person herself.

"Yah Kwon Ji Yong, are we on hidden camera or something?" Dami noona was the first to recover from the sudden confession.

"Do I look like I'm joking?" I shrugged my shoulders.

"You don't, but Yoona looked like she had just swallowed a pair of socks," Dami noona rolled her eyes. "Yah, is this one of your tactics again?" 

I eyed at her and indeed, she was still in a trance. Still interlacing my fingers with hers, I gave her hand a squeeze. 

"Oppa, am I on hidden camera?" She repeated what Dami noona said. 

Everyone laughed while I ruffled her hair in adoration. 

What a parents' day it was.

We walked the others out after the dinner. The confession ended there and then, the accuracy of it unknown. However, when Yoona was out of sight and sound, umma lectured me hard and asked me if I meant what I said and that I better be serious about it. She was certain that she didn't want such a good daughter-in-law to slip by and if I wasn't serious about it, she would kill me because this might mean that she could lose a daughter just because of my ridiculous joke. I laughed at her seriousness and told her I would let her know the truth soon enough.

I was having fun because I knew how much my family adored her and how my parents had already treated her as their own long ago. Keeping them in suspense was interesting. Hell, they weren't even that excited and anxious when I was about to drop my album. 

I didn't think much of it at the time, but with every step we took to go back to my house, the realisation of what I had said dawned on me. Such a simple thing, us holding hands, was something we had never done before, a step in a direction we had never taken before. My mind ventured onto new ground, just wondering...

I didn't know what got into me to say such a thing when noona asked what was my gift to appa and umma. At that split second, I made the decision of making her my girlfriend. It wasn't that this idea had never crossed my mind but it did take a lot of courage to get to where we are now. 

Hence, I didn't think twice as she kept hold of my hand, let me straight past my car and up to the door of the house. I didn't say a word as she led me inside and I sat there while she put some coffee on. I sat at one end of the sofa, vaguely thinking that she would probably start her questioning after preparing the drinks.

"You want some cookies?" She called from the kitchen. 

"Sure. But can we have wine instead?" 

"No. I reckon we had enough just now during the dinner."

She came back into the room with two mugs of coffee and a plate stacked with cookies. It's amazing how naturally she fit in. She's like the female owner of the house, knowing the whereabout of each item and making herself so comfortable. She did sit next to me, but not that close. By now, I could feel the tension hang in the air, a new feeling for both of us. I tried to be as normal as I could but found my vocal chords tightening and my mind running in too many directions at once. She, on the other hand, seemed more relaxed as she snapped cookies into and washed them down.

She finished her coffee first and now that she no longer needed to sit upright to drink, she eased herself down to lie down across the sofa. Her head rested on my thigh and she pulled up her knees to fit on the sofa. She reached out for the TV remote and switched to Young Bae's documentary, sighing peacefully.

"Young Bae oppa is always so warm, always giving his best on stage as well as off stage... That amount of effort and passion for music and his fans..." She commented in a relaxing pose.

"I didn't see you saying the same when I had my documentary. I fainted momentarily and still pulled myself up. Talking about professionalism?" I asked in jealousy as I turned her over to face me. 

I looked longingly at her full lips and her cute little nose. Ever since young, her complexion was perfect. Her skin never seemed to have be attacked by acnes and even if it ever was, it definitely survived without any blemish. I brushed my finger lightly across her silky cheek. She felt like the skin of a warm, ripe peach. At the call of my touch, her expression softened further and she had that pair of disconcertingly restless eyes. 

She looked up at me and smiled, "anybody ever tell you you're cute when you're jealous?" 

"Anybody ever tell you you're beautiful?" 

Her expression changed to a wistful look, "all the time? But coming from you, I believe it is the first time. You always say I'm ugly with the alligator laughters."

She closed her eyes and I acted on my own accord, brushing my lips against hers, gently. She lifted her free hand to the back of my neck and urged me to stay in position. She opened and I accepted her invitation. Our tongues played, slowly at first and then with increasing intensity. We explored, tasted, felt the heat rise and the relief flow.

By the time we opened our eyes, we were both smiling.
