What are you going to do if you fall inlove with the person that you considered as your bestfriend for almost 9 years? Are you going to tell her? Or are you going to hide your feelings forever? Would you keep yourself being near to her and pretend that you don't feel a butterflies in your stomach the moment she cling to you or if she touch your cold hand with her warm hand or if she stares at you with those beautiful brown orbs of her. Or would you rather choose to distance yourself from her and ignore her forever. Such a complicated dilemma right? But what if someone really experience this situation and his name is Son Seungwan, a junior high school student in SM high. A very goodlooking,talented,charismatic and cool guy. But despite of that charming personalities there is something I mean someone that can make him a total mess and her name is Bae Joohyun,a senior high school student in the same school as him. She was considered as the campus goddess because of her one of a kind beauty,a perfect jawline,pointed nose,pink and luscious lips,her brown orbs that can melt everyone in just one stare and her pale white skin that can blind everyone's eyes. Almost all (boys and even girls) admires her so much but despite of this stunning personalities only one person knows her better than the others and that was her childhood bestfriend, Seungwan.

They became friends when they where in grades school. Seungwan is a transferee that time from canada,since he is not the type to socialize to other people especially strangers so he has been left behind but not until one day when he is silently eating his lunch on their school cafeteria someone approached his table making him to lift his head up to see the person's face,there, she saw the smiling face of a cute little girl holding a purple lunch box in her hand.

"Can I take this seat? The other tables were all full and this is the only one left" she said without breaking the smile on her lips. For the first time,the young Seungwan feels that his heart beats faster than normal. He question himself why? Why does his heart beats like this? Is it because the girl infront of him is cute,or is it because of her smile that can blind anyone's eyes

"Oh,y-yes. You can have that one" He replied back earning a wide smile from the latter as she take her seat across him.

"Thank's"

 

And that is when it all began. After that lunch,they frequently saw each other,mostly on the school cafeteria during lunch time until they started talking to each other,knowing each other's name and other stuff and that's when Seungwan find out that Joohyun was 1 year older than him (so that's the reason why they don't belong in the same class)and they both leave in the same village .It became a routine for them during lunch time,as the weeks and month passed by they became comfortable with each other and at the end they became bestfriends. 

 

"Seungwan! Joohyun is here! What are you doing there? Hurry up and get out of you room now!" His mother called out from the door of his room as she continuously knock on it

"Mom,you don't have to shout like your talking to an old man,I'm not deaf ok?" He complained as he put the strap of her bag on his right shoulder before slowly opening the door of his room

"Better not let a woman wait for you again then I'll stop shouting at you. Joohyun is waiting for you outside for almost a minute,are you not guilty of that?" His mom said as she fix his  undone necktie

"But I didn't tell her to do that. She insisted to do it"

"So now your blaming her? What kind of a friend are you? Would you mind to became a nice guy sometimes,Son Seungwan!" His mother said sternly making him gulp in nervousness

"I..I'll better go now. Bye mom" He said as he kiss his mom cheeks and rushes outside where Joohyun is waiting for him.

"Seungwan wait! Hey! Would you mind to slow down your pace?! Seungwan-ah!" Joohyun called out as she chases after him.

Seungwan didn't want to be mean to her but he don't know why he acted this way to her friend this past few days. Trying to distance himself from her to forget his feelings for her. Yes ' his feelings'! He discovered that he has a crush on his bestfriend the moment he saw her wearing those shirt with blazer and tie and a skirt that is above her knees that perfectly suit on her slim body, a stunning and mesmerizing beauty that catches everyones eyes in their school including him. It's sound clichè but he thought he has been dumbstruck because of her bestfriend's beauty.

He make his pace slow so Joohyun can reach after him but he had been stop when someone grab his arms causing him to turn his head to face it's source.

"Are you ignoring me? I called you many times but you just continue walking like you didn't hear me" Joohyun said while pouting like a kid to her mother

This is one of Joohyun's personality that only Seungwan knows. Her, despite of her age sometimes acted childishly,pouting and using her aegyo that never failed to brought him goosebumps.

"No,I'm not ignoring you. I just.. I want you to stop doing this"

Joohyun arches her eyebrows in confusion

"Doing what?"

"This. You,picking me up from my house"

"So? What's the problem there? I used to do this since we were kids"

"That's the point! We're not kids anymore so you don't need to do this" and Because you just making it harder for me to hide my feelings for you

He heard her heave a deep sigh before she locked her gaze again to the latter

"No!"

"What?!"

"No! I will not do that"

"But.w-why?"

"Because I don't like!"

"But Joohyun-"

"When I said no! I said no! That's final!" She said as she crosses her arms on her chest and started walking ahead of him

"Joohyun!" Seungwan called out as he chase after her,still complaining on how stubborn Joohyun is for not following him. But ended up being reprimand when Joohyun used her señorities over him.

The next day while they were both walking on the hallway of the school building towards their classroom,Seungwan suddenly pinch Joohyun's nose but Joohyun is fast to make her revenge she immediately pinch the latter's right ear in return. They continue doing that not until someone get their attention

"Ahm,hi Joohyun" says the handsome guy who stopped infront of them wearing his perfect charming smile

"Oh,hi V!" Joohyun greeted back with a smile

"Are you taking your lunch now?"

"Yes,why did you ask?"

"Great! Is it ok if I invite you to have a lunch with me?" He said as his charming smile never leaves his lips and his eyes twinkle in delight

"Ahm.." Joohyun pause as she looks up to her bestfriend who was standing beside her but his eyes was fix to the guy infront of them with his serious face but when he felt that someone is staring at him he immediately look to her side only to meet by his bestfriend's beautiful brown orbs who was looking at him. They locked their eyes for a moment but Joohyun was the first one to look away.

"Sorry V. But I have someone to share a lunch with"

"Oh. Is that so? Ahm..ok.. Maybe next time then?" He hopefully asked while looking directly at her

"Ahm,sure"

"Great! I go now. Enjoy your lunch then"

"Thanks"

The guy started walking towards the other direction but not before bidding his goodbye to Joohyun and giving her his signature wink.

As the guy walked away Joohyun heave a long deep sigh. Well,she need to be used to it,everytime,she encounter some guys from their school asking her to join them on their lunch but she all rejected them. It's not like they were not that attractive or popular cause they were but Joohyun was not really interested on all of them. Even if some of them already confesses their true feelings for her. 

 

"Poor guy" Seungwan said getting the latter's attention as she look up to face him again

"Why?"

"Why? Because,you rejected his offer"

"Why? Didn't you like it?"

"Like it? Not really. I just felt pity for him"

"Pity? That's new to hear from you." She said as she chuckled "Admit it,you like what I did to him"she added with a smirk

"Ahh,so now your teasing me huh"

"Why? Are you the only one to have the right to tease?" She challenge without leaving her gaze on the latter

Control. You need to control yourself Seungwan. Yeah,She's beautiful but nono! She's your bestfriend! Yeah! She's your bestfriend! Keep that in mind Seungwan thought as he heave a deep sigh before stepping a bit backward.

"Whatever you say" he paused as he locked his gaze again on the latter as a smirk grow from the edge of his lips "midget" he added before he harshly pinch the latter's nose and run away 

"Yah! You giant!" She shouted as she chase after the guy who's laughing hardly while running away from her.

"Goodmorning,auntie" Seungwan greeted as soon as the door opened revealing a middle age woman in her office uniform

"Oh,hello Seungwan. Why are you here?" 

"Ahm..Joohyun asked help from me about her project "

"Oh,Is that so? Well,come in come in" The woman gestured him to step inside " Joohyun was on her room.I'll be leaving now for work"

"Thank's auntie and take care"

"Thank you" 

The woman bid her goodbye before stepping out of the house.

"Wan,can you get that paint brush for me" Joohyun said gesturing to the thing right next to the latter. They were both sitting on the floor at Joohyun's room doing her project in her art subject.

"Here" Seungwan said as he lend the paint brush to the latter

A moment of silence occured as the two were busy doing there things 

 

"Ahm,Hyun did I do it right?"

"Wan,can you pass that blue paint here?" They said at the same time as they both faces each other but what shocked them was when they realized that their faces were only an inch away from each other. Feeling each other's breath against each other's faces that bring tingle to their bodies as a loud thump of her heartbeat can be heard. But not until Joohyun manage to recompose herself first and look away as she hide her blushing face behind her long locks.

 

"Ahm..can y-you pass the blue p-paint here?" Joohyun mange to say but without looking up to the latter

"Ah..h-here" Seungwan carefully reach for the blue paint before passing it to the latter

"Thank you" 

"Welcome"

The akward silence surrounded the whole room,no one dare to speak after that. They sometimes taking quick glances but immediately looked away when someone is looking back.

"Thank's for helping me with the project. It's a big help actually" Joohyun said shyly while guiding the latter out of their house

"No problem. Anytime as long as you need my help I'll be there" 

"That's sound clichè" says Joohyun as a soft giggle escape from

Seeing that cute expression from his long time bestfriend made Seungwan smile. How he wish he never developed any romantic feelings for this beautiful girl so they can continue being like this without him being distracted on how beautiful Joohyun is or on how fast his heart beat when she was doing this little gesture or how he felt a colds sweat from his forehead when Joohyun is looking at him. How he wish he can forget this growing feelings he feels inside her whenever he see her. How he wish they can still be friends if Joohyun finds out about his secret. How he wish they will stay like this forever.

"Ok..midget, I'll need to go now. It's already past 6:00"

"Would you stop calling me midget, you giant!"

"Only if you became taller as the eiffel tower!" He said followed by a loud laughter

"Yah! Go home now!" She shouted in an annoyed tone of voice

"Your easy to tease,you know that?" Seungwan said between his laughter

"Thank's for the compliment" Joohyun said sarcastically

"Ok. I'll go now. Good night midget" Seungwan said before ruffling the latter's hair

"Goodnight, giant!" She said as she slap the latter's hand away from her hair but earning a chuckled from the latter.

Slowly,Seungwan step outside of the gate taking a quick glance to the latter before walking away as Joohyun's gaze followed her back figure until it's out of her sight before closing the gate and rushing inside the house.

"Hey, Wan!" someone called from behind causing him turn around and faces his guy bestfriend and also his soccer teammate, named Kang Seulgi.

"Seul"

"Are you going to the locker room now?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Can I tag along?"

"Oh yeah,sure"

"Thanks" he said flashing his bear-like-smile

They silently walked along the hallway towards their locker room until Seulgi broke it

"Ahm,by the Wan. I saw Joohyun an hour ago"

"Oh?Where?"

"At the entrance hall and...she was with someone" He paused as he side glances his friend trying to observe his reaction but Seungwan despite of his curiousity try to maintain his cool aura.

"I thought it was you at first but when that person faces my direction I find out that it's not you but Bogum"

"Bogum?" 

"Yes,Park Bogum"

Park Bogum. He is one of the most popular guy in school. Almost 99% of the girls in school has a crush on him and because of that he has been considered as the no.1 campus hearthrob. He came from a well-known family. He has a very nice record in school. And last but not the least,he's one of Joohyun's suitors. Bogum is a nice guy so there are a bigger possibilities that Joohyun will fall for him and thinking about that to happen didn't really help Seungwan's complicated situation. Thinking about them together makes his blood boiled in too much anger and jealousy. But he need to restrain his emotion to avoid any problem.

Seungwan and Joohyun silently doing their assignments inside Seungwan's room that evening. But Seungwan on the other hand,debating to himself if she should ask Joohyun about what Seulgi said to him an hour ago or he will just keep it and never bother asking her about it.

Dilemma again. What a tough life.

 

"Ahm..your with Bogum earlier?" He suddenly asked

Joohyun immediately look up to him with a shock expression on her face

"How did you know?"

"Ahm..Seulgi told me. He saw you and him earlier"

"Oh? He did?"

"Yes"

Joohyun was the first to look away as she focus her attention on her assignment again but Seungwan remain her gaze on the latter observing her moves and her expression

"What..what did he..told you?" Joohyun carefully ask without even given him a glance

"Nothing. He just told me that he saw you two together"

"That's it?"

"Yes"

He saw her heave a deep sigh as she continue writing on her notes.

"What did you do? And where did he brought you?" That's a sudden question that even Seungwan himself is surprise to hear that coming from his mouth

Joohyun look up to him. It was a brief silence before she answer.

"We go to his aunt's house. We deliver something for her and then we ate ice cream before he walk me home"

"That's...good to hear" Of course it was a lie,how can it be good to hear if your telling me that your enjoying other's company rather than mine

"Are you..ok with that?" she carefully ask as she stares at him or more like searching something through their eyes but Seungwan is good in hiding his true emotions.

"Of course. Why is it not ok with me?" Hide it. That's the good things to do

"I thought,your not" Joohyun said as a tone of sadness in her voice

"Aigoo! He's a good catch and you looks perfect together so why am I not ok with that?" He said as he chuckled before ruffling the latter's hair

"Yah! Stop that! Your messing my hair!" Joohyun complained as she try to swat the latter's hand away from her hair
