Out of the Blue

            Ryeowook was busy at his desk, doing paperwork, when his phone vibrated in his pocket.  He assumed it was his mother getting back to him about their dinner on Saturday.  He wanted to know if he should bring anything.  Like dessert.  Or maybe it was Donghae.  Donghae always text at the most random of times for the oddest reasons.  It wouldn’t be Yesung.  Yesung almost never text unless the café was dead and it really almost never was around the noon hour. 

            So imagine his surprise when the text was from Kyuhyun.  He hadn’t spoken to Kyuhyun in nearly six months.  And why was his heart betraying him so badly by beating so hard, just seeing that name on the screen?

            Ryeowook opened the text.  Will you tell Hyuk that his hair is hideous and encourage him to change it before his tryouts for the theater on Thursday?

            The little omega began laughing and began a reply.  I don’t know if he’ll take me seriously.  We got our hair done together and mine doesn’t look much better.  It’s also blue.

            Ryeowook tried to get back to work, but stopped the moment his phone went off again and quickly looked at the alpha’s response.  Show me.

            It would look too suspicious that he wasn’t working if he took a picture of himself at the desk, so he sent Kyuhyun a recent picture that his cousin, Henry, had taken off him at their family reunion and sent to him.  That would have to do. 

            This time, Ryeowook did not pretend to work as he waited for the alpha’s response and Kyuhyun did not take long to reply.  You totally look cute with blue hair!  Hyuk doesn’t and he’s going to miss his chance in getting on the dance team for this theater production if he looks like a freak!  Tell him he looks hideous.  He listens to you more because he says I have no fashion sense.

            Ryeowook doubted that.  He periodically looked through Eunhyuk and Donghae’s phone, looking for pictures of the alpha, and when he wanted to look good, he did a damn fine job of it.  Although he wasn’t about to point that out at the moment.  Wasn’t he supposed to be ignoring the alpha or something?  He seemed to recall that he’d promised himself not to get involved w
