Readers have been reaching out to me in PM about the 'heteronormativity' in the story, so I figured I have to speak out about it to justify why I chose to write the fic as such. 

In the mother/umma/mom case, it's more about the verbal role and not the gender; and it's also a form of endearment. Bc mother also means the one who has the ability to give birth, the address towards the 'mothers' will stay that way. In the story, if they say "he's your mother", it translates to "he gave birth to you". I already changed the /wife/ words in accordance to this and changed them into /husband/. 

+++Add the fact that it could also be a choice in the story. Wonwoo isn't complaining on being called 'Umma' and neither is Jeonghan on being called 'mom'. 

I did not intend to make anyone uncomfortable with the 'heteronormativity' as I am a part of lgbtq+ , I got many guy friends who love being called Mommy/Nanay, and firsthand asking us to do so as well, so I didn't really worry much about it. There are also other 'big-time' fics who does it so I didn't think it through. You may think I am shoving on my readers' faces that there should only be one 'father' in the story, but I did not intend to do so as I may have been doing it unconsciously due to the fact that the friends I have consulted said that it was okay if Wonwoo and Jeonghan wan
