Trouble Is A Friend
It's Complicated [INDEFINITE HIATUS]
"Trouble is a friend but trouble is a foe, oh oh
And no matter what I feed him he always seems to grow, oh oh
He sees what I see and he knows what I know, oh oh
So don't forget as you ease on down the road"
-LENKA, TROUBLE IS A FRIEND
“How many times do I have to tell you sunbae? It wasn’t a love letter!” Mingyu whines shyly. His hands were fidgeting under the table as he looks at the array of plated desserts on top of it. Well, one could say there’s also this giant dessert in front of him and Mingyu would agree, but the senior isn’t really his type of dessert so he’d pass.
Yifan’s eyes were practically sparkling as he looks at Mingyu with full adoration; his chin resting on the back of clasped fingers propped by his elbows on the table’s empty space. “Don’t be shy with sunbae now, Minmin-ah. I’ve already accepted your feelings. You’re really so cute.”
Mingyu pouts at this and sighs. Perhaps it was really wrong of him not to include his real intentions in the letter that he had sent to the handsome senior that was why he’s now facing the karma of it. Blame Lee Seokmin on telling him that he should give the older guy a proper greeting letter first.
“I’ve already gathered pictures of you that I can paint, just as how you want me to.” Yifan says in his thick voice that will either lull people to a comfortable sleep or make girls we their pants. For Mingyu though, it was a bit of lulling and awkward.
The younger takes the glass of milkshake close to him and takes a long sip. “Sunbae. I told you for the nth time. I already have a boyfriend. He’s a sophomore year and his name is Wonwoo. I wanted you to paint my boyfriend Wonwoo.” He explains again.
“I could only hear ‘goo goo gah gah’ coming from your pink lips and it’s the best ever.” Yifan coos. “You’re really cute~” The taller takes out something from his body bag and Mingyu’s face flushes when he sees that it was the letter that he sent to the senior, contained in a pastel pink envelope and written in a pastel blue paper. “Let me read this cute confession again~”
“No, no, sunbaeee—“
“Yifan sunbae-nim, I don’t know if you are going to notice this letter among the other pretty letters you already have in your locker, but I am still going to hope that you do notice this and notice me. I have been admiring your art ever since you joined the Arts and Letters club at the Uni and I really wanted to ask you a favor regarding that. I would really love it if you make something nice for me. If you agree, can we please meet at Jam Jam café in front of the university gates? XOXO, Kim Mingyu, Business Major, freshman.” Yifan waves the latter in front of the younger and chuckles as he does so. “If this isn’t a love confession, I don’t know what is.”
Mingyu didn’t know the older is conceited after all. Also, he regrets asking Minghao to write the letter just because of his good handwriting.
“Sunbae, please listen to me.” Mingyu whines again.
“Ahh, so cute~!”

Rumors sparked around Mingyu’s company as to why the handsome Wu Yifan from the P’InWheel publishing company is inside Mingyu’s office along with Mingyu’s ex-husband. The employees were not allowed to spread such information outside the company, but surely they took the liberty to spread it inside the building walls.
Of course, Jeonghan being the financial officer, had heard the rumor as well. As one of the best among keeping secrets, neither Mingyu nor Wonwoo have anything to worry about. It’s just that the staff were blowing things a bit out of proportion. Jeonghan therefore has to keep it down or else it could result to a major issue. Growing weeds in the grapevine will never result to a good produce.
The long haired male sighs after glaring at the rows of employees’ cubicles with the staff lazing around and chatting casually as if he wasn’t there. He wouldn’t deny that he knew of the reason why he had lost a bit of respect in company. After all, engaging in adultery and having quite a complicated family structure will surely put him into a shameful spotlight. Nonetheless, he still have reputation on being the best in his field of work and no one could ever question him on that subject.
The buzz of his phone in his pocket took him out of his reverie and he didn’t really look at the screen before answering. “Hello, what’s the matter?” he asks, first thing upon bringing the device near his ear.
“Nothing, really. Just checking up on you to see if you’re doing well at work.” Jeonghan could picture out the proud smile on his husband’s lips and he chuckles as he walks back into the office to have privacy.
Jeonghan smiles wide as soon as the glass doors close behind him. “The matter is that you miss me and you’re bored at home.” He teases the older male. “Got no work?”
There was a small groan and sounds of shuffling before Seungcheol answered his question. “None. I’m lounging in the sofa at home with Jeongsoo and Joshua. Joshua’s cooking us lunch.” Jeonghan heard a faint ‘Hi Mom!’ from the background and he smiles more at that, knowing Seungcheol is being docile with Joshua and his son.
“That’s good then, I—“
