“Oh my god,” whispered as I stared at my phone’s screen “I can’t believe I actually did it!” I say grinning. I’ve been contemplating whether I should register or not for days now but you know what they say, ‘ Desperate times call for desperate measures.’ And this is a desperate time alright. Being a single university student is not fun, especially if you’re the only one sitting alone in a cafeteria full of couples each others’ faces away. And being a gay male wasn’t making anything easier. So I thought a little help from this app wouldn’t hurt anyone, right? I mean, what’s the worst thing that can happen. Like I might come across a possible serial killer searching for his next victim, but what’s the possibility of that happening? Surely less than 60% right? Not sure if that’s scientifically proven but I’ll take the risk.

I looked down at the screen and found a little smiley icon with the words ‘Find new friends.’ under it. I bite my lips and hesitantly click on the little button. The screen showed a loading icon and I waited for it to finish loading the list of people but oh how I hope it didn’t, because once it was done, the only thing I could see was chests and pics everywhere. Okay, maybe it wasn’t the smartest idea to register here after all.

Blushing, I scrolled through the pictures hoping to find something other than people and thankfully, I came across a couple of decent guys who actually uploaded pictures of their faces instead of their . I observed them checking if I could find anyone who was actually my style only to frown because they all were too feminine for my liking. Like, there’s this guy called Ren who I had to stop and stare at for a minute to make sure that he really was a guy cause that er looked more like a girl than any girl I’ve ever met!

Just as I was thinking that, my phone rang in my hands startling me. I looked down to find that it was my best friend Sungmin calling.

“Minnie” I answered and I could hear him giggling before telling someone to stop. I sighed figuring he was with his boyfriend Kyuhyun right then.

“Hyuk! Get ready we’re going to the mall!” Sungmin exclaimed happily from the other line.

“Sorry Min but I’ll have to pass. I don’t feel like being the third wheel again today.” I said grimacing and remembering all the times I’ve went out alone with these two only to have them act all lovey-dovey with each other and particularly ignore the fact that I exist and that I’m actually sitting right beside them forced to watch their very inappropriate-for-a-public-place display of affection.

“Oh come on Hyuk! Don’t be a party pooper! It’s going to be fun. Besides, Kyuhyun’s cousin is coming along and he really wants you to join us!” Sungmin whined on.

“By cousin, do you mean Siwon?” I asked horrified.

“The one and only.”

“ no! I’m not going anywhere near that thing! Don’t you see how he just stares at me and grins? If that doesn’t scream ‘Serial killer’ to you, I don’t know what does!” I exclaimed shivering remembering how uncomfortable the other makes me. Ugh, nope I’m not going near that thing! No sir I won’t!

“Oh come on Hyukjae! It’s been too long since we last saw each other, I miss you!” Sungmin faked a sob making me roll my eyes.

“We saw each other literally yesterday Sungmin. Seriously, what’s the big deal? Why are you insisting so much?” I asked feeling suspicious since the other doesn’t usually insist on something if there wasn’t a reason behind it.

“Okay fine, the thing is, we were supposed to be going on a date but Siwon wouldn’t let us go unless we make you spend some time with him.” He said sighing the annoyance clear in his voice.

“Oh no! I ain’t gonna spend my day with that creep!” I exclaimed in horror.

“Please Hyukjae! Just this once, I’ll never ask anything from you again, so please~” he started to whine making me furrow my eyebrows at the annoying noise.

“Okay fine! I’ll meet you there in an hour. But remember, if I didn’t call you by evening then I was either kidnapped or killed! Also, you owe me big time bunny!”

“Yay! You’re the best Hyukkie! See ya!” The things I do for my friends.

Sighing, I walked unwillingly towards my bathroom to take a quick shower before dressing up. Once I was ready, I went out and walked half heartedly towards the mall. The mall was a couple buildings away so I didn’t really need to walk that far until I reached it. Once I was infront of it, I looked around and finally spotted my overly excited friend with his boyfriend and his cousin. I took a deep breath and braced myself for what I’ll have to endure in just a couple of minutes. I sighed before walking slowly and unwillingly towards the three guys waiting for my arrival.
