Jaehyun clutched the book that reminds him of everything. Their memories, all bound in this book, written by her, dedicated to him. She used to always say "You are my north star. You guided my lost self.” He could feel his tears forming as he remembered her, her smile, her tough disposition, her feeble jokes. Now she is gone, because of him, she became a painful memory he regrets and wanted to forget but he can’t. He just can’t. She probably don’t know but it was the other way around. Because years ago, she saved him, she is his north star.

He is probably clutching the book by now. The book I wrote, full of our memories. The book I wrote for him. My hands formed into a fist as I remember him, as I remember that night. The way the flames almost swallowed me, the way I screamed my lungs out calling for his help, the way he apathetically turned his back on me and left me there, dying and burning, waiting to be turned in to ashes. Now he thinks I’m gone, and he is paying the price for leaving me behind. He was a painful memory that I wanted to forget, but still a memory I have to face once again. This time, I won’t be left behind. I’m going to show him that he wasn’t the same star that used to guide me anymore.
