Chapter 3- Brewing Trouble

“Jeon Wonwoo and Moon Junhui. What have the two of you done to make my Jihoonie mad again!? I saw him huffing and stomping out of the cafeteria. He ignored me…” Seungcheol scolded the two, who were both staring at the ground.

“Can’t the two of you just grow up already? You know he hates it when you guys argue and make fun of him…” Seungcheol went on with his ranting session but the two before him were already fine tuning his voice out.

“I bet 10,000 won he’s going to bring up the previous argument.” Wonwoo whispered, bending down as he side eyed Jun.

“I bet 20,000 won he’s going to start bawling when that happens.” Jun whispered back.

“I bet 30,000 won we’re going to get dragged away with him when he cries. And we would have to comfort his sorry .” Wonwoo smirked.

“Stop ing fooling around! Here I am speaking to you two. And you’re making bets right under my nose. I’ve had enough.” Seungcheol raised his voice, making the two straighten up, giving him apologetic smiles.

“Ayyy…hyung…we’re sorry…we were just speaking to each other as usual…” Wonwoo began, as he tapped Jun’s arm from behind, signalling to the other to back him up.

“Y-yeah…we didn’t expect Jihoon to get all mad…” Jun continued.

“Did something happen? Like he seemed pretty intense…” Wonwoo asked, looking up at Seungcheol with his eyebrow raised.

“He mentioned something…about us not noticing that something was amiss…” Jun finished up. Seungcheol’s eyes widened. I knew something was not right with him ever since yesterday…did I do something wrong? Seungcheol couldn’t put his finger on it…Jihoon has always kept things to himself, not wanting to bug another person with his own problems. And Seungcheol hated that. He wanted to share Jihoon’s troubles but the younger simply wouldn’t budge.

“…D-don’t worry about that…I’ll go talk to him. I’m really sorry for shouting at you guys…” Seungcheol softened, pulling both Jun and Wonwoo in for a group hug.

“I gotta go…I’ll see you guys tomorrow!” Seungcheol smiled, before going off in another direction.

“Soooo…what’re you going to do now? You don’t have classes for the rest of the day right?” Jun asked as Wonwoo stood before the vending machine, a finger on his lip as his eyebrows clenched together, deciding which snack he wanted.

“I don’t know…Gotta wait for Hansol to get his forms done…” Wonwoo replied, tapping his lips.

“Urgh…Kim Mingyu…seriously…why did you have to get mad at him?” Mingyu mumbled to himself as he walked out of the cafeteria, turning left. Jeonghan hyung doesn’t know him…so obviously he would just judge them by what other people say. But then again, Jeonghan hyung is one who always jumps to conclusions… Mingyu was in a dilemma. He didn’t know whether he should be mad at Jeonghan for saying such things about Wonwoo and his friends.

“Aish…” Mingyu cursed, ruffling his hair.

“Oh? Won! Isn’t this the one night stand guy from yesterday?” Jun asked, making both Wonwoo and Mingyu look up. Mingyu stared at the two before him, pointing to himself while mouthing a ‘Me?’

“Yeah you. Right Won?” Jun asked, turning to look at Wonwoo.

“Y-yeah that’s him. I mean. Not the one night stand. As in he is the guy from yesterday. We didn’t have a one night stand.” Wonwoo explained frantically as he watched Mingyu frown.

“Ooh…hey what’s your name? I’m Moon Junhui. Just call me Jun. I’m Won’s best friend in the entire world. The one and only who can stand his prideful but unreasonable .” Jun introduced, holding his hand out.

“Kim Mingyu…J-just call me Mingyu…” Mingyu shook Jun’s hand before pulling it back.

“So…Mingyu. Do you have anything to do after lunch? Like classes or…?” Jun asked. Wonwoo hit his friend in the arm, shooting him a glare. What the hell is he trying to do now?! Wonwoo could never read Jun’s mind. The other was so hard to predict. Just like himself.

“Erm…not really…I was just about to head back to my dorm-” Mingyu was just speaking when Jun interrupted, with a bright look on his face. And Wonwoo was not liking it.

“Great! Shall we all head to the dance practice room?” Jun asked, pulling the two off in the direction of his dance practice room, not allowing them to escape.

“Jun. I think you’re forgetting something. Hansol’s going to be wondering where the hell I went.” Wonwoo coughed, standing at the door, not wanting to enter the room.

“Don’t worry. I’ll call him. He’s big enough to find his way around.” Jun dismissed Wonwoo’s excuse.

“Pretty cool huh? Have you tried dancing?” Jun asked as he watched Mingyu observe the dance practice room with his mouth gaping.

“N-not really…but Soonyoung hyung has taught me a few moves…it ended up as a disaster.” Mingyu laughed, scratching the back of his neck.

“Cool! So you’re Soonyoung’s friend? I had a few lessons with him. He has the craziest and sickest moves!” Jun exclaimed, before he proceeded to pull Mingyu to the centre of the room.

“Won. Play us some music.” Jun instructed, pulling his hoodie off, now only dressed in his blanket singlet that hugged his fit body tightly. Mingyu stared at the other’s figure, not realizing that someone else was staring at him from the other side of the room. Stupid Junhui…trying to flirt with another guy when Minghao isn’t here…you’re screwed if the kid finds out… Wonwoo rolled his eyes. His best friend would never let go of a chance to show something off. His figure, his dancing skills or his looks. Wonwoo played an upbeat song, the beats bouncing off the walls of the practice room. Mingyu started off just tapping his feet as he watched Jun break out in some moves, but he started following the repetitive moves once he sort of had the move in his head. Within minutes, the two were dancing side by side, as Wonwoo watched from behind.

“That! Was amazing! Such a waste that you aren’t in my department.” Jun said between breaths. They took a break from dancing, lying down on the ground, their chests rising and falling.

“Oh Won. I need to go! Minghao’s lessons are almost up. And I gave Hansol the directions. He’ll just find his way here.” Jun said, swinging his bag over his shoulder before giving a wave to Mingyu and Wonwoo before leaving. There was awkward silence in the room between the two. Wonwoo just staring at Mingyu, and the younger just sitting there, not knowing what to do. Should I leave? Oh man…this is so awkward. Mingyu didn’t like awkward situations, but he didn’t want to just leave the older alone in the room.

“Not much of a dancer?” Mingyu asked, as he moved over to Wonwoo, who was just shuffling through his phone for music when he realized Mingyu walking towards him.

“N-not really…I don’t really participate in physical activities…” Wonwoo shrugged his shoulders.

“Why not? I thought you were involved in some kind of gang stuff? Don’t mind me…I just…couldn’t help but overhear what Hansol said this morning…” Mingyu explained hastily when Wonwoo frowned.

“I didn’t physically take part in the fights…I just watched out for the cops…” Wonwoo mumbled, clearly a little upset.

“Don’t you want to try? Dancing is actually kind of fun…” Mingyu grinned a little. Wonwoo swore he could feel his heart beating a little faster than usual. And he wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or bad thing.

“Come on! I’m not very good. But I’ll teach you whatever I know.” Mingyu held his hand out, expecting Wonwoo to grab it. But the older merely stared at it, not knowing what to do. Mingyu took the initiative instead, grabbing his hand and pulled him to the centre of the room.

“Wait here. I’ll go play the music.” Mingyu instructed before he ran off to plug his phone into the speakers, playing I Need U by BTS. Mingyu demonstrated a few steps before he got Wonwoo to try. The older started off with very stiff moves, but gradually his body got slightly flexible.

“For this part, you need to sort of do a body wave.” Mingyu explained, demonstrating once as Wonwoo stared. Why does he look…so hot? Like normally when Jun does it, it looks cool. But…. This kid….he’s making things so… Wonwoo snapped out of his thoughts when Mingyu snapped his fingers in Wonwoo’s face.

“Hello? Are you listening?” Mingyu asked, his face inches away from Wonwoo’s.

“Y-yeah…back away…” Wonwoo blushed, stepping a few steps away. Wonwoo tried doing as Mingyu said, but he looked so stiff.
