Texting buddies
XOXO | KaiSooAs Jongin was on his way home, he couldn’t stop grinning and staring at the note Kyungsoo had given him. He wanted to text him immediately, but he held himself back to do so.
Texting him right away would just creep him out, wouldn’t it? He thought to himself. Or would he like the idea? It’s not like Kyungsoo could text him first, obviously, as he didn’t have Jongin’s number, but the other way.
Jongin decided to just give him a quick message and see what response he’d get. He fished out his phone from his pocket and typed in the number, he thought of saving it as “My Kyungie”, but he knew it he did that, he’d get caught one day and his friends would never let it die, and decided to just save it as “Kyungsoo”, although the first one was more tempting. He started typing in, and after checking it for the tenth time, he finally hit send.
‘Hey Kyungsoo, it’s Jongin. Thank you for giving me your number. I hope texting you now doesn’t seem too stupid, but at least you have my number too now. Looking forward to see you tomorrow. Thanks for today -xoxo’.
He thought it didn’t seem that bad and just sent it, but after staring at it after it was sent, he started slowly regretting it. Would he find it weird? Would he delete my number right away? Would he avoid me tomorrow?
His stupid worries were interrupted when his phone vibrated for an incoming message that was from none other than the boy he couldn’t stop thinking about.
‘I'm glad you texted me so quickly~ I'll save you number at once, and no problem. See you tomorrow Jongin -xoxo’.
Jongin grinned at his reply; he couldn't wait until the next day.
The long tanned body that belonged to Kim Jongin stretched itself as the alarm woke him up, signalling him that he had to wake up for school; just the thought of it made him groan, but suddenly he heard his phone give off the message sound.
Curiously, Jongin reached for it, squinting his eyes slightly from the bright screen, but opened the message.
‘Good morning Jongin~ I hope you'll wake up with a smile -xoxo’
Undoubtedly, Jongin did indeed smile - grinning, actually - and he sent a good morning message back and headed for the shower.
After he was done, he didn't feel like eating - he wanted to go to the school as fast as possible - and skipped breakfast and headed straight for the school after he told his parents goodbye.
“You're early,” said one of his friends, Kim Jongdae.
“You back in school?” Jongin asked, surprised to see him. Jongdae had been hospitalised for a few weeks because of health problems. “You all better now?”
“Better than you,” he smirked, giving him a hug.
“Good to see you again Jongdae,” he said in their hug, smiling at him.
“You too dude.”
They both headed towards the classroom they shared together, but the reason Jongin wanted to go to school so early was to greet Kyungsoo at least once before the class started.
“What's up?” Jongdae asked as he noticed his friend stopped walking.
“I'm waiting for someone,” he replied, trying to hide his smile that appeared just by the thought of Do Kyungsoo.
“Someone?” he asked, grinning at him. “Nini got a crush?” he teased.
“Come on dude,” Jongin said as he rolled his eyes, trying to look as innocent as possible, “what crush,” he said, but it only rose the other’s suspicion.
“Who is it?” he asked, almost all up in his face, but Jongin only scuffed.
“What do you mean who-” Before Jongin completed his sentence, a familiar smaller figure had come to his eye rea
