The meaning of Love
I Am A Hero
„Jiyongie hyung!“
„Hm?“
„What is love?“
„What?“
Jiyong’s head shot up, his eyes focusing on the little boy next to him in a matter of seconds.
Seungri sat on the swing, his tiny feet dangling and his even tinier hands clutching onto the metal chain holding the seat up as he stared at the older with big, questioning orbs.
The boy was an airhead but Jiyong had noticed lately that he was prone to ask somewhat rather deep questions.
„Love? Why do you suddenly ask about that?“
„’Cause mama says I love you to me but she says I love you to papa too. I’m not papa, why she says the same to us?“
At times like this Jiyong was glad that he was fairly smart and mature for his age, not personality wise but he had a great knowledge and loved to learn new things. But he also observed his surroundings and learned just from watching, so he often got asked whether he was tired and why he was spacing out all the time, the truth, though, was that he was just incredibly interested in everything around him.
„Hmm… you see, there are different types of love.“
„Different types?“
„Yes. Your are obviously important to your mom because you are her son and you have a special mother-child relationship. So she loves you.“
„Uhu?“
„Your dad and your mum love each other in a different way though.“
„Why?“
„They are not related by blood but they share other feelings. When they are together their hearts are all jumpy and their stomachs feel tingly.“
„Sounds ouch…“
Jiyong couldn’t help it but laugh at that expression, well, perhaps his explanation was still lacking a bit.
„No, it feels good, it’s the feeling of falling and being in love.“ He sounded like he was an adult but in reality that’s just what he was told and what he had learned from movies.
„It doesn’t when mama is with me?“
„No.“
„So she love papa more than me?!“
„Loves. And no. Do you love your mama?“
„Yes!“
„That’s exactly how she feels about you. You just don’t know the other kind of love your parents feel because you haven’t experienced it yet. But someday you will.“
„Ahh…“ Seungri didn’t really look like he actually understood anything Jiyong had told him. „And why are mama and papa married and not mama and me?“
„Because if you are related to somebody you are not allowed to get married. Also, you only marry someone when both of you are in love like your parents are.“
„With jumpy heart and tingly tummy?“
„Exactly!“
So he did understand after all.
„And then there is a third type of love.“ Jiyong added with a smile.
„What type?“
„The type of love you feel towards a friend, like me.“
„Hm…?“
„Do you understand?“
Seungri shook his head no and started chewing on his lower lip. Jiyong could practically see how his brain started
