Trampled Babysitters and Typical Boys

Realizing The Obvious

Kim Namjoon didn't (usually) speed, but when his boss/crush was late for work and was already on the verge of breaking down, he figured he could make an exception. It would be just my luck if I got pulled over. Namjoon thought to himself with a nervous scowl, tightening his already white-knuckle grip on his steering wheel. Kim Seokjin really wasn't helping his nerves. Jin was drumming his fingers on his left thigh, looking around nervously and biting his bottom lip. Fed up with Jin's frayed nerves, Namjoon reached out with his right hand and grabbed Jin's left, halting the drumming.

"Hyung. It's ok. I'm sure your customers will understand." Namjoon said soothingly in an attempt to push his own nerves away. Jin smiled weakly and squeezed Namjoon's hand in thanks and interlocked their fingers. Namjoon, unsurprisingly, was screaming inside kept his cool and rubbed his thumb over Jin's knuckles gently. After a while, the oldest Kim untangled their fingers and Namjoon tried to ignore the wave of disappointment that washed over him. It wasn't too hard considering Jin only let go of his hand to play with it, drawing aimless patterns and tracing the lines on his skin.

"Namjoon oppa, are we almost there?" Sung whined from the back seat, "You're going so fast, we should've been there yesterday!"

At the sound of the young girl's voice, both men jumped harshly, but Jin kept a firm grip on Namjoon's hand. Namjoon flushed hotly all the way down his neck, but left his hand.

"Almost there, Sung-ah." Namjoon responded, his voice cracking slightly. He glanced at her in the rear view mirror.  The little girl was waggling her eyebrows at him. Namjoon narrowed his eyes at her and she winked. You are six years old, you brat. Stop winking at me! Namjoon scolded silently with a scowl. Sung only giggled quietly in response. Jin of course was oblivious.

Namjoon finally pulled up at the café, Safe Haven, relief filling his chest. Unfortunately, it was short lived once he noticed the huge line of people waiting in front of the doors.

"What do you put in your food, hyung? Crack?" Namjoon asked with wide eyes.

Jin only winked and took them to the back door. To help with Safe Haven, as it was fairly large, Jin usually had eight to ten workers to help out. But, since he was late (and the angry mob couldn't have helped either), only Park Jimin, Kim Taehyung and Min Yoongi showed up. The latter was half propped up against the wall and half propped up against his boyfriend, Jimin, snoring lightly. Honestly, he probably only showed up because Jimin had probably dragged him (literally) out of bed.

Namjoon saw Jin wince at his three employees. He obviously loved them dearly (Jin sometimes ranted to him about how his employees didn't take good enough care of themselves. Namjoon wasn't really surprised. He'd grown up with them, so he was used to taking care of them.), but they weren't all...there. Of the three, Yoongi was definitely the most normal. However, he did have his days where his eyes were bloodshot and Yoongi talked to himself about beats and rhythms and he sometimes talked to inanimate objects. Those were the days where only Jimin could get to him, coaxing him into taking a break and a short nap in the back room. Even now, Yoongi was leaning heavily on Jimin, snoring lightly, clinging to his boyfriend. They really are a good couple. Namjoon thought to himself. I wish I could have that with Jin hyung.

"I am so sorry you guys," Jin rambled, trying to unlock the door with shaky fingers. Namjoon gently pried Jin's keys out of his hand, ignoring the others that were trying to talk over each other. The older man gave Namjoon a small, sweet smile in thanks and pushed the door open, revealing the back of the kitchen. Namjoon, not for the first time, died a little bit inside. That smile is going to be the death of me. He was almost thankful when Taehyung bounded over to them. Almost.

"Why are you so late, Jin hyung? Did you and Namjoon hyung do the dance with no pants last night?" Taehyung asked, his wide hazel eyes bright with curiousity and mischief. Namjoon's and Jin's cheeks flushed. I wish

"Taehyung!" Jin screeched, holding a hand to his heart, "Watch your mouth! There are children present!" He scolded, smacking him violently gently upside the head. Taehyung pouted and rubbed his head. Sung laughed at her oppa's expression. (Pick one, they're all funny. Yoongi looked like he hated everyone, Jimin looked like he was trying to turn into a tomato because he was laughing so hard, Namjoon looked ready to faint and kick Taehyung's and Jin looked feminely scandalized. Taehyung...Taehyung looked like he had both a victory and a failure, and the end result was extremely a little strange.)

"Well, you're not denying it so..." Taehyung trailed off with a smirk. Jin looked downright murderous now. Noticing this, Taehyung's eyes widened and he sprinted off to the staff room with a screech. Jin glared at his back, muttering his plans to kill the alien under his breath. Namjoon chuckled and looked down when he felt a small tug on the leg of his pants. Sung looked up at him with wide eyes.

"Namjoon oppa, can we stay here today?" Namjoon hesitated. I don't want to bother him, or get in his way...but he doesn't even have half of his staff.

"Well...if it's alright with your Appa, I guess we could." He replied haltingly, peeking at the elder sheepishly. Jin just smiled.

  "I would love-"

"Wait!" Jimin cried, "Namjoon hyung can't work here!" He exclaimed, panicked. The trio of Kim's frowned. Sung put her hands on her hips and glared at Jimin.

"And why not?" She asked, narrowing her eyes. Jimin gulped and raised his hands in a 'no-offense-but-what-I-have-to-say-is-totally-right-and-undeniable' kind of way.

"In case you didn't know, but Namjoon hyung is actually the God of Destruction disguised as a philosophical skyscraper." Jimin explained. Nobody denied the claim.

"Well...he can take orders. Right Namjoon?" Jin replied after a moment of silence, turning to look at the younger. Namjoon gulped, but nodded anyway, attempting to flash his hyung a reassuring smile.

"Of course, hyung. Even I can manage that." He laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. Well...I hope I can, at least

"Look, Appa!" Sung cried suddenly, pointing towards the doors. While the group had been arguing, people were starting to push up against the doors, demanding to be let in. Namjoon felt a wave of uneasiness wash over him.

"I'll go handle the crowd, hyung." Namjoon bravely volunteered.

"At least he's not as clumsy with words as he is everything else," Yoongi drawled, turning on the coffee machines. Namjoon shot him a glare. Yoongi just shrugged and wandered off to complete more of his duties.

"Here are the keys to the front doors, Joonie. Good luck," Jin said, practically throwing the keys at him before he sprinted walked to get started on the baked goods. Namjoon sighed and trudged towards the door wearily. I feel like I'm in danger, were his thoughts as he approached the customers who were practically foaming at the mouth.

"Good luck oppa!" Sung screeched after him, waving brightly. He turned to give her a weak smile before continuing with his mission. Well...here goes nothing. He took a deep breath and prepared a speech in his mind, starting with, 'You're all animals. You belong in a zoo. But since you can pay...'. He's kidding. Mostly. He took a deep breath, pushed open the doors...

and promptly got knocked to the ground.

                  Right on his flat .

Namjoon could only cover his head and attempt to roll to the sides in order to get out of the hungry and coffee-deprived animals' way. It only worked a little bit. People were stepping on him, kicking his ribs and someone even managed to kick him in the face. He finally made it to cover after a few agonizing moments of fear. What did I do to deserve this? He wondered miserably as he hid under a table. His body ached.

"Namjoon! We need you!" Taehyung screamed from behind the counter. Namjoon carefully peeked out from his hiding spot under the table. The whole place was a mess. People were almost leaping over the counter to get to their coffee. It looked like the mafia on a coffee break; but with less guns and drugs (maybe). The violence was real, however. There were literally fist fights about who was first. This is ridiculous.

"Enough!" Jin bellowed. The usually even tempered man had heard the commotion and saw Namjoon go down. "I will not tolerate this kind of behavior in my café!"

"I was late. So what? That doesn't give you people the right to act like a bunch of animals!" He fumed, "I should kick all of you out right now! You knocked over and trampled my babysitter, frightened my daughter, scared off most of my staff and pissed me the hell off! So if you can't be patient and decent enough to wait in line, then kindly get the hell out of my café!" He roared, his chest heaving. Namjoon stared at his hyung with wide, amazed eyes. Damn. That was hot.

"Namjoon," Jin called, his voice gentle. The man timidly crawled out from underneath the table, keeping his eyes down. He could practically feel everyone's stares.

"Come here, Namjoon." He used that same gentle voice to call him, causing his cheeks to flush. He shuffled over painfully to his hyung, his eyes still downcast. He stopped once he saw Jin's pink Converse. Namjoon felt a crooked finger under his chin, tilting his head up. Jin studied his face, his own blank and expressionless. He traced a feather-light trail around Namjoon's black eye with a soft finger. The older frowned and spun Namjoon around carefully.

"This is what happens when you fail to be decent and kind. Someone gets hurt." His voice rang out, crisp and angry. Every single one of Jin's customers' eyes were downcast in shame. Namjoon jumped when he felt a large, soft hand slip into his own. He looked over and saw that Jin was smiling sadly at him.

"I trust that you all can have some patience while my employees serve you, yes?" The crowd collectively nodded. Jin nodded once and bowed slightly, still holding onto Namjoon's hand, before he turned and went into the back, tugging Namjoon with him. The younger Kim followed in a daze, his heart going haywire. Why is he doing this? It's not necessarily out of character, but...this seems different. Namjoon frowned. He wasn't really paying attention, but Jin had led them to the bathroom in the back. He only snapped out of his thoughts when Jin shut the door.

Namjoon couldn't really describe Jin's expression with only one adjective. Some of it was worried, some of it was angry, some of it was sad, but there was also a certain fondness and...affection? Namjoon couldn't really say. He was oblivious as hell.

"I am so sorry," Jin finally whispered, "I never expected them to be this extreme, I-"

"Seokjinnie hyung," Namjoon called gently, smiling slightly, "It's alright. It's not your fault." He reassured him. Jin shook his head, wiping away the angry tears that sprung to his eyes.

"It's not alright!" He cried, "You got hurt because you were t-trying to h-help me!" He blubbered, hugging himself as more tears escaped. Namjoon's heart melted at the concern and anger on his behalf from his hyung. He pulled Jin into a hug, his hair soothingly.

"Hyung, don't worry about it." Namjoon murmured warmly, "I would gladly do that and more if it was to help you." He finished sweetly, pulling back so he could wipe the older's tears with his thumbs while giving Jin a sweet, dimpled smile.

"Oh, Namjoon. You are too sweet for me." Jin chuckled wetly, his eyes crinkling in a smile, despite his tears. Namjoon just blushed and shrugged. Namjoon's blush got brighter when Jin leaned forward and pecked his cheek, lingering for a few moments. Ohmygodohmygodohmygod-OHMYGOD. Were Namjoon's exact thoughts. That, and screaming. Lots of screaming.

"Thank you, for everything." He breathed, "Now let's get you patched up." He took the stunned boy's hand and led him over to the toilet, putting the lid down for him to sit on. Namjoon, more or less, plopped down, still in a daze. What the hell was that? He panicked internally, He's never done that before!

"I need you to take your shirt off." Jin said coolly as he crouched down, looking in the cabinets. Namjoon, meanwhile, was dying. Why the hell does he need my shirt off?! Sure, it might have a few rips and - oh. He blushed. He just wants to make sure I'm not hurt. Right. He thought with major - very, very - mild disappointment. Jin stood up, first aid kit in hand. Namjoon avoided his eyes and peeled his shirt off.

He wasn't necessarily self-conscious, but he didn't think he had anything to be proud of either. Smoothe, slightly tanned, even toned skin, defined pectoral muscles, lightly defined abdominal muscles...all in all, Namjoon knew he wasn't bad looking. He also knew he wasn't the best looking either. And he was ok with that. But with Kim Seokjin studying him intensely, he couldn't help but want to be more

"Jin?" Namjoon asked uncertainly, uneasiness creeping up his spine as more and more time passed without Jin saying anything. Just studying him. Jin's eyes moved from Namjoon's chest to his eyes, his dark brown irises hot with intensity.

"You don't understand, do you?" Jin finally asked in a low tone. Namjoon shifted uncomfortably, rubbing a hand on his arm.

  "Understand what?"

   "How gorgeous you are."

Namjoon's mouth dropped open in shock. What?! Is this really happening?! While Namjoon was fangirlingboying inside, Jin had gotten closer, the first aid kit long forgotten. Namjoon stood up and backed himself against a wall, feeling very much like prey. Jin placed a hand on either side of Namjoon's head, closing him in. Namjoon brought his hands up to rest gingerly on Jin's chest. Instead of pushing him away, as Jin thought he would, Namjoon tugged him closer.

"I'm going to kiss you, Namjoon-ah." Jin whispered lowly, searching Namjoon's eyes for any hesitance or fear. Namjoon smirked.

  "Then do it."

Jin smirked as well before leaning in and slowly connecting their lips. Namjoon could've sworn he died and went to heaven. Jin's lips were so unbelievably soft. They moved in sync for what felt like years before Jin opened his mouth. Namjoon immediately took the opportunity to slide his tongue in and explored. He quickly flipped their positions, instead pinning Jin to the wall, completely taking over. Namjoon reveled in the way Jin moved against him. The way he let out a breathy moan everytime Namjoon nibbled on his lip. The way Jin rubbed small circles onto Namjoon's hips before squeezing slightly to tug him impossibly closer. The way his lungs burned for oxygen, but Jin was his oxygen, for a time. They both pulled away at the same time, when the burn of not enough oxygen became too much. Namjoon rested his forehead against Jin's.

"Do you know how long I've wanted that?" Namjoon panted, his mouth gravitating dangerously close to Jin's mouth. Jin shook his head slightly and pecked his swollen lips. The older Kim tugged Namjoon into a hug, burying his face into the crook of his neck, rubbing his hands up and down Namjoon's hot back.

"It can't be longer than I've wanted it," he whispered in response, biting down on Namjoon's neck gently. He gasped and gripped Jin's hips tightly. The latter chuckled and pulled away, smiling happily. Namjoon couldn't help but return his smile.

"Let's get you patched up. For real this time." Jin laughed softly, peeling himself away from the wall, pushing Namjoon down on the toilet in the process. He sat down with a playful huff and pouted.

"Hyung," he whined, "I'm fine!" He insisted, batting away Jin's hands weakly. Jin raised an eyebrow and looked pointedly at a particularly large bruise on Namjoon's ribs. He chuckled nervously.

"Well...I'm mostly fine." He admitted reluctantly, rubbing the side of his neck sheepishly. Jin rolled his eyes, muttering something about, 'stupidly pretty boys who have more beauty than sense'. Namjoon let the comment slide.

"I wonder how the others are doing."

A/N: I am so sorry it's taken this long to get a chapter up! I've had some issues with inspiration, but I went back and read some of the comments you guys gave me and that really helped a lot! Hopefully the length of it and the major Namjin moments helped compensate for the wait! Thank you so much for being patient! There might be some Yoonmin and/or Taekook in the next chapter. (I read this over, like, once. So please let me know if there's anything weird, or if there's a mistake in the chapter) Until next time!
