You had finally been able to scratch the money together to be able to afford a small apartment in downtown Seoul. Working your off while studying was finally worth it in the end. You weren’t made to live in a dormitory. The girls were too loud and obtrusive, you needed time alone, and you needed your privacy. No matter how great your roommate was, it didn’t last long until she, too, got on your nerves. The only person you could imagine living with, was your best friend Crush. At first that was what you both planned to do, until you realized it wasn’t possible in this conservative society, especially not when you had a boyfriend who was willing to move in with you. But you weren’t ready for that yet. You had only been dating him for two months, it was too early. 

Crush placed the last packing box onto the floor and clapped his hands together satisfied. 
“Done!” He breathed out and wiped away the sweat from his forehead. 

“Thank you so much for helping! I owe you!” You thanked him sincerely and gave him a tight hug. You really didn’t know what you would do without him. Over all those years, he had always been there for you, giving you emotional support. Not once did he let you down. You weren’t able to see each other often, but you knew you always had each other’s backs.

“Always,” he smiled at you warmly, before ruffling his hand through your hair playfully.



“Yah!” You warned him, flinching back. You took his wrist into your hand and pushed him away gently. 

“I’m leaving first. Have fun unpacking,” he then said with a glance at his watch.



“I’ll see you at my house-warming party,” you winked and him and bid him goodbye.

After he left, you looked around your new apartment and let out a content breath. It was a new chapter in your life and you couldn’t be happier that you were able to share it with the people you treasured the most. 

There were so many boxes, the wooden floor was barely visible and you didn’t know where to start. As lazy as you were, you picked the smallest box which was lying on the kitchen counter
