THURSDAY

Mingyu wakes up from the couch. His head is pounding from the fight last night and he wonders if Wonwoo is up already.

The door is still slammed shut and Mingyu doesn’t hear anything from the other side, indicating the older is still asleep. Mingyu sighs and sits back down on the couch.  He’s known to be clumsy at times and say thing that he’s not supposed to say.  But this takes the cake.

The image of Wonwoo’s face breaking down still haunts him.

Wonwoo had cried himself to sleep. Mingyu heard the sobs; each sob he felt guilter and guilter.

“Wonwoo’s ex was an to him. He treated Wonwoo like and had the audacity to accuse Wonwoo of cheating.”

“The elephant was a present from his ex. It was before he turned to an so it meant a lot to Wonwoo and still probably does.”

Mingyu sighs, wanting to turn back time to solve everything. But he couldn’t.

The bedroom door opens and Mingyu jumps to his feet, darting to the older. “Wonwoo!” Mingyu calls and freezes when he sees the latter’s bloodshot eyes. “I just-,” He doesn’t finish when Wonwoo brushes past him, locking himself in the bathroom.

“Breakfast is on the table.” Mingyu says as he leans on the bathroom door. “I’m heading out to work now. Call me if you need anything…” Mingyu mumbles the last part.

He gets ready fast and leaves the house, each step heavier than the other.

“You feeling alright?” Jeonghan, Mingyu’s co-worker, asks when he sees the younger’s down expression. “Dude, what happened?”

“Huh? Oh. I don’t know. I had a fight I guess.”

“With whom?”

“Uh, a friend but not a friend.”

“A what?”

“I don’t know! The point is that I said something really horrible and he’s upset and I’m upset and he won’t talk to me and I just don’t know what to do!”

Jeonghan blanks. “Well just apologize.”

“He won’t even look at me!”

“Give it some time. Your friend will come around some time soon.”

Mingyu hopes so.

When Mingyu arrives home, Wonwoo is already at the doorstep ready to go out. “Hey,” Mingyu calls, giving a light smile but Wonwoo rejects it, darting his eyes elsewhere.

“I’m going to work.” Wonwoo says lowly.

“I’ll...I’ll go pick you again then…”

“No…don’t,” The other answers, brushing his shoulder against Mingyu’s before heading out. Mingyu stands there, frowning at himself as he heads inside.

When Wonwoo comes back, they eat dinner in silence and Mingyu has to recall why he’s in Wonwoo’s house in the first place.

Oh yeah that stupid bet...is it still worth it?

FRIDAY

Wonwoo is still avoiding Mingyu all morning and afternoon and the latter is just about almost wanting to give up the stupid bet. But it pains him to think about if he does end it, he also ends this relationship problem thing with Wonwoo.

“You don’t have to say anything.” Wonwoo says to Wonwoo, his voice low and tired. “Tomorrow I’m meeting up with Jihoon to call off the bet. It’s for the best.”

The words stabs Mingyu likes knives. Wonwoo doesn’t say any more and leaves the house for work and Mingyu feels weak in his knees, ready to break down.

“Seriously, you’ve been acting strange all week.” Seungcheol comments as he leans against the inner bar counter. He stares at Wonwoo firmly. “Are you sure there’s nothing going on?”

Wonwoo shrugs. “I don’t know. I’ve just been thinking about...him lately…”

Seungcheol’s soft smile drops. “Oh. How come?”

“Mingyu bought him up the other day. I don’t know I-,” Wonwoo couldn’t continue when a customer enters the bar. “Welcome!” Wonwoo says, smiling as he escorts the customer to a table.

Two hours in and Wonwoo can feel like he’s about to pass out. A good bath and sleep sounds like heaven at the moment. But Friday’s are known to be the busy day; the customers keep coming and coming.

“Welcome!” Wonwoo greets when there’s a new customer at the door. But this one is different.

“Hey beautiful~ how youuu doinggg?”

Wonwoo sighs. Even though he should be used to countless drunk customers, it gets more uncomfortable every time. “Welcome, table for one?”

The man, who reeks of alcohol laughs loudly. “Can I have a table with you, beautiful? AHAHA.”

Wonwoo sweatdrops. It’s going to be a long night.

The man wouldn’t shut up. Each time Wonwoo passes by to serve the other customers, he feels a light tap to his bottom from the man and he bites his lips to hold in his patience.

“Beautiful, won’t you come home with me tonight?” The man slurs out, palm rubbing against the side of Wonwoo’s thigh.

“Sir you’re drunk.”

“Aw come on beautiful. Just one night. I’ll make it the best night you ever had.”

“Sir, please stop.”

By now the man is already touching Wonwoo in many places and Wonwoo is starting to feel uncomfortable. He couldn’t have the other customers to help him, and Seungcheol hyung is out on an errand at the moment, and the only available co-worker right now is Mnghao who wouldn’t hurt a fly.

“Sir-,” Wonwoo gasps loudly when the man snakes his arm and presses his front against his back. “Stop please!”

“Aw come on, what are you afraid of beautiful? Scared your boyfriend might find out? I bet he’s not as good as me in bed.”

Wonwoo gulps. He feels embarrassed, humiliated, violated.

“Hey,” a familiar voice pierces through Wonwoo ears and he turns to see Mingyu, eyes fierce as he holds the drunk man by the wrist. “Back off him.” Mingyu growls and the man drunkenly shouts back, spitting on Mingyu’s face.

“Who the are you?” The man says. “Do you know who I am? I’m, I’m-”

“No I don’t.” Mingyu says, his hand tightening. “And clearly neither do you. Now back off Wonwoo. Lay a finger on him one more time and you’ll be getting it from me.”

“ you!” The man swings a punch at Mingyu, slamming him against an empty table. Wonwoo gasps in horror before taking up his anger and throwing the drunk man across the room.

“Don’t you dare touch Mingyu!” Wonwoo shouts, taking the man and locking him into a immobilizes position. “Don’t think I’ve never ripped a man’s arm off before.”

The man screams in fear before Wonwoo releases him and he darts his way out the bar. Wonwoo runs towards Mingyu whose cheek is already bruised and nose bleeding. “Mingyu,” Wonwoo doesn’t know why tears are falling. “Oh my god, this is all my fault.”

Mingyu laughs through the pain .”Hey,” he says, slowly opening his eyes to look at Wonwoo. “What are you being sorry for? I’m fine, just a small scratch.”

Wonwoo chokes on his tears and helps Mingyu up to his feet. “Minghao, I have to head home. Tell Seungcheol hyung what happened when he comes back.” He says to the Chinese boy who nods responsively.

Wonwoo is still sobbing as his fingers shake trying to open the first aid kit when they reached the couch. Mingyu laughs though and it makes Wonwoo sob more.

“You’re so stupid,” Wonwoo chokes, “Why would you come see me.”

There’s a small smile played on Mingyu’s lips and Wonwoo hits him for smiling. “I wanted to apologize.” Mingyu says softly, his eyes not leaving the o
