“Did you really think I’d cancel our plans today?” Jessica crosses her arms over her chest. She and Tiffany were seated at a popular restaurant that serves American style breakfast. They just finished ordering their food and were patiently waiting. Jessica thought to start up a conversation first.

“Honestly?”

“Honestly.”

“Yes?” Tiffany stated, but it sounded more like a question. She reaffirmed her answer by elaborating in her response. “I had my doubts about this date because Hyo and Soo did say we were going out tonight.” Tiffany frowned.

“Hey, don’t frown. You know I don’t like it when you’re upset.” Jessica noticed the frown on Tiffany’s face. “Besides, they said we were going out tonight. That shouldn’t interfere with our plans.”

“If it shouldn’t then why didn’t you tell them about it?” Tiffany asks.

Jessica laughs, “Because I know them. They’ll just skip class too and ask to come with us and I don’t want that. JeTi dates are for Jessica and Tiffany ONLY.” Jessica says and emphasises the Jessica and Tiffany part. “Besides, I thought this would give us a chance to talk. How can we start over again if we don’t set aside time for each other? I meant what I said last time when I said let’s start over again. Just because I’m in a relationship it doesn’t mean I’ll toss us aside.” Tiffany frowned at the mention of being tossed aside. She was reminded of her actions in the past and Jessica could tell the girl was thinking about it. “Hey, I didn’t mean to say that in an offensive way.” Jessica reached across the table and placed her hand on top of Tiffany’s. “I said it to reassure you, I’m not going anywhere. Our friendship won’t change. Besides, I missed you. I miss my Miyoungie. So smile will you? You’re more prettier when you smile.” This time, Tiffany didn’t seem to mind that Jessica called her by her Korean name. She always found it endearing whenever Jessica mentioned her Korean name and over time she has grown fond of hearing Jessica call her by her Korean name. She’s so used to it by now, she’s sure Jessica has noticed her reactions were purely becoming more playful than negative. However, Tiffany couldn’t deny the fact that Jessica would push her buttons sometimes resulting in her ‘violence.’

“So you didn’t tell them?What about Yuri?”

“Come on Steph, don’t worry.” Jessica smiles. “If it makes you feel any better...I texted them before leaving and told them I wasn’t going to class. I didn’t tell them where I was going though because I don’t want them to suddenly show up and crash our JeTi time...and as for Yuri, she knows. She even told me to have fun and not to miss her so much. That black pearl.” Jessica scoffs while thinking of Yuri’s exact words,but later laughs. “She was even jealous when I told her I was taking you out on a date. “She was like ‘you’re cheating on me with your best friend?’ Obviously, she was joking. ” Jessica smiles. “Yuri knows how important you are to me. So stop being worried. You’re ruining the mood.” Jessica pouts.

Tiffany smiled. “Aigoo~” Tiffany reaches over and pinches Jessica’s cheek. “Why do you have to be so cute?” Tiffany’s comment made Jessica blush. “Aww~ are you embarrassed?” Yuri was right Tiffany thought. Jessica was so cute when she’s embarrassed.

“Ah~! Steph that hurts,” Jessica rubs her cheek.

“I can’t help it. Now I know why your girlfriend is so fond of you.” Tiffany says. “I like it actually. A lot of people show their aegyo to people, but you’re the opposite. You don’t show your aegyo to just anyone. It makes me feel special. I’m sure others feel special too whenever you show them your aegyo.”

“Well of course! You and the others should feel special.” Jessica says as she playfully rolls her eyes for effect.

“Wow, cute and a bit of a narcissist.” Tiffany says with a laugh. “I’m seeing a whole new Jessica. Why haven't I seen this side of you before?”

“Yah, I ‘ve always been cute you just never noticed.” Jessica pouts once again. “And narcissist? I beg to differ. I’m not narcissistic. I’m just confident. There’s a difference.”

“Wow, Sunny was right.” Tiffany says.

“Right about what?” Jessica looks at Tiffany with furrowed brows.

“You can be very stubborn and when that happens, the lawyer in you comes out.” Tiffany says.

“Yah~!” Tiffany just laughs at the response.

“Ok, ok enough of this bantering.” Jessica sighs.

“What? Have you had enough?” Tiffany teases.

“Yes,” Jessica says with a laugh. “Let’s play a game.”

“Ok, what kind of game?”

“Hmmm…let’s play 20 questions, but with a twist.”

“20 questions with a twist?”

“Yeah, instead of 20 questions we’ll make it unlimited. Questions can be asked at any time during our JeTi date, and the other person has the option of answering or facing a consequence.” Jessica explains.

“Oooo sounds interesting. What are the consequences?” Tiffany asks.

“They are to be decided by the other person and can only last for 24 hours.” Jessica says. “Of course they have to be reasonable.”

“Ok. Call. Me first.”

“Ok, what do you want to know? Ask me anything.” Jessica says.

“Ok, since it’s the first question, let’s start off with something simple…” Tiffany says as she thinks of a question. “What is your favorite physical feature about me?”

“Wow, and you say I’m narcissistic.” Jessica retorts.

“Yah, I didn’t ask for your comments.” Tiffany shoots back. “Now answer the question and give an explanation.”

“Hey, no where in the rules did we say we had to explain ourselves.” Jessica says.

“Nowhere in the rules does it say we can’t either have explanations either. Plus, what rules? You didn’t set any specifics.” Tiffany challenges Jessica.

“Ok fine,” Jessica sighs,but answers quickly. “Your eyes.”

“My eyes?” Jessica nods.

“It’s the first thing I noticed when I first saw you smile the day we first met. Do you remember when I asked you to smile for your mom. There was a twinkle in your eyes when you smiled.” Jessica can’t help but feel nostalgic. “Did you know your eyes are fatal?”

“Fatal?” Tiffany blushed.

“Yeah, one look at the other person and you’ve already captured their heart.” Jessica says. “You’re such a heartbreaker you know that?” Tiffany couldn’t help but notice some truth in Jessica’s statement.  But the eye smiling girl brushes it off with a joke.

“So have you been captured?” Tiffany asks.

“Hey you had your turn. It’s my turn to ask a question.” Tiffany knew Jessica’s answer. She also knew this was Jessica’s way of evading a question.

“But you said we could ask questions anytime we wanted. You never said there was an order to who asked questions. You have to serve a consequence.” Tiffany says quickly. “And to think you’re trying to be a lawyer. A good lawyer is specific,but you’re lacking in that department. Remind me never to call you when I’m in trouble. ” Tiffany teases.

“YAH~!” Jessica shoots Tiffany a glare and the eye-smiling girl just grins.

“Anyway, your consequence is that you have to give me a piggy back ride whenever I ask for one.”

“Fine. My turn.” Jessica says. “Since we’re on the topic, I’ll ask you the same question. What is your favorite physical feature about me?”

“Hmm...I don’t know...you don’t really give me much…” Tiffany teases. She knew the answer to the question. She just wanted to tease the girl.

“Yah~!”

“Impatient are we now?” Jessica rolls her eyes at the comment. “I’m only joking with you….my favorite feature of yours is your smile.”

Jessica blushes. She didn’t expect that answer.

“Your smile is contagious.” Tiffany says. She even goes as a far as singing a bit of Justin Bieber’s U Smile, “When you smile I smile~” Tiffany giggled at her own antics; it caused Jessica to smile and laugh along with her.

“See like that!” Tiffany exclaims. “You should smile more. I like it when you smile.”

Jessica giggles once more. This time she felt that all too familiar flutter in her heart and stomach. Tiffany always had this effect on her.  “Well only if you promise to smile as well.”

“Mm,” Tiffany nods.

“Here we are,” their waiter comes with their food. The two decided share their food so they ordered the house pancake special and the big breakfast special.

“Thank you,” Jessica and Tiffany say in unison.

“Hey let’s take a picture,” Tiffany pulls out her phone.

“Would you like me to take the picture for you?” the waiter asks. “I can take a few for you if you’d like.”

“Yes please.” Tiffany passes her phone to the waiter.

“When you’re ready...” The waiter takes the phone and prepares to take the photo.The girls both lean in and point towards the food and smile at the camera.“On three...1...2...3~!”

“Let’s take another one,” the waiter says. Jessica nods and this time she gets up from her seat and causes a bit of confusion, but all is cleared up when Jessica scoots in and sits next to Tiffany. They were sitting in a little booth so Jessica thought it would be nice to have a picture of them two sitting next to each other. “Great, when you’re ready I’ll take another one.”  This time Jessica hooks her arm around Tiffany and brings their face close to each other so that they are cheek to cheek. “Great! On three…1...2...3~!”

Jessica’s sudden action leaves Tiffany a little flustered, but she manages to smile after getting over their closeness.

“Here you are.” The waiter passes the phone back to Tiffany, but Jessica intercepts it.

“Thank you,” Jessica smiles.

“No problem.” The waiter smiles. “I took a few shots so I hope you like them. By the way, you two make a cute couple.” the waiter was an older woman;she looked old enough to be their mother or aunt. “Times have really changed, huh? I’m not familiar with what you kids are into these days, but you two are definitely a beautiful pair.” The woman smiled. “You’ve got a beautiful girlfriend here.” The woman said to Jessica.

Tiffany was about tell the woman that they weren’t a couple, but Jessica was quick to answer. “Thank you, She is isn’t she?” Jessica has always wanted to say this, it’s unfortunate that they weren’t actually a couple. Tiffany on the other hand couldn’t help but blush. It didn’t go unnoticed by the older woman, because Tiffany received a smile from the latter.

“Enjoy your meal girls.” the woman bowed her head before leaving the girls.

“Thank you,” Jessica says to the woman.

“Yah~!” Tiffany slapped Jessica on the arm while the older girl looked through Tiffany’s phone.

“What?” Jessica says not really paying attention. She was more interested in looking tthrough their photos.

“You lied to that woman.”

“No I didn’t.” Jessica says. “We are girlfriends. You and I are both girls and we’re friends. Girlfriends.”

“Yah~!” Tiffany slaps Jessica’s arm. Despite Jessica’s lie, Tiffany couldn’t deny the fact that the woman’s complement harped her heartstrings.

“Come on Steph, relax.” Jessica says. “Oooo~!” Jessica was too busy looking through the photos to even pay attention. “Awww you’re blushing in this one. This one has to be my favorite~!”

“Yah, I want to see. It’s my phone,” Tiffany reached for her phone but Jessica moves it away from Tiffany.

“W-wait,” Jessica struggles to keep it away from Tiffany. After tapping a few action Jessica returns the phone to Tiffany. “ There you go.” Jessica finally returns the phone to Tiffany.

“What did you do?” Tiffany asks as she looks through the photos.

“I just sent the pictures to myself.” Jes
