DAY 350

In a couple weeks it would mark a year since my return to this kingdom. A year was too short to learn about the entire problem this kingdom has. I did struggle to catch up on things. Each province had different problems, range from poverty to criminality, from lack of water till lack of gold, from bad governances till an abuse of power…

My head was spinning every day. I barely had time to rest. Because of that, even though I had had you moved to my chamber, the business had hindered me from seeing you awake when I returned to the chamber.

However, just seeing your sleeping face always managed to calm my distress. I found the fact as strange yet comforting. Whenever I stepped inside and saw you deep in sleep, I would just carefully sit at the edge of the bed and watch you. How your chest rises and falls in a rhythm, how a few strands of your hair covered part of your face, how your mouth slightly ajar… that little detail of you somehow fascinated me more than this kingdom’s affair.

I didn’t want to admit it, but Keito was right. I am falling for you. At first I thought that I had soft spot for you because I saw my little Mirai-chan in you, but it’s wrong. Even after you declared that the younger you had vanished, this feeling didn’t disappear. I’ve fallen for the current you: the cold and arrogant lady, who was surprisingly fragile.
