“Come to me! Oh! Oh! Oh! Tonight! Oh, so crazy.”  Heeyoung sings as she skips downstairs into the kitchen where her father is already eating his breakfast.  “Come back! Back! back to me!”  She sings another line of the song, noticably a little aggressively this time.  She feels annoyed at the fact that she didn't get to come make her own breakfast.  This guy is a terrible cook...

He looks at her weirdly.  “Another song by Beast?”

“No no no no no nooo...”  Heeyoung sings again, then sticks out her tongue.  But what he said is right;  Beast has always been one of Heeyoung's favourite bands although she mostly enjoys a lot of rock music. Beast is just her style of pop music and nothing is comparable to them.

If you asked her who her bias is among the group, she'd laugh and just tell you her top 5 favourite songs by them instead.

When you listen to rock music, you're hardly ever going to be interested in what the band members look like and what else they can do other than perform their parts of the songs—whether it's the drums, bass, guitar or the most obvious instrument: vocals—so why would this pop group be any different?  

“Would you like to meet Beast, dear? Will that make you happy?”

“Oh? Um... No, that's okay...”  Heeyoung replied.  The thought of putting herself between a crowd of screaming fangirls at a concert made her skin crawl with discomfort;  she imagined she might go deaf.  “And why do you think I'm unhappy?  I'm all right, okay?”

“Are you sure?”

“I'm sure.”

It was expected of her father but it still bothered her.  About a month ago, Heeyoung's mother, Miyeon disappeared without a trace.  All she left behind was a small note and a sealed letter for Heeyoung.  

Sealed letter...  that letter is still sealed.  Heeyoung hasn't had the courage to open it yet.  

She hasn't really had the time to do so anyway, since immediately afterwards, a man whom she prefers to call Taehyun rather than ‘father’ came into her life for the first time as far as she remembers.  She only knows it to be true because of the small note that her mother left her, which said ‘His name is Park Taehyun. Be a good daughter, okay?’ with a little heart at the end.

Her first month with her father has been difficult, but she's happy nonetheless.  

She has a father now... but the only thing missing now is her mother.

“I'm going to school now, Taehyun. See you later!”

[THREE WEEKS BEFORE]

“Yo! Guys, come here to me for a second!”  Yoseob calls out as he's looking at something on the laptop.  It's an article that's categorized as Breaking News about the daughter of currently hot music producer Park Taehyun.  

“This girl!”  Yoseob points at a picture of her,  “Do you guys know her?” 

“Um.. She's Mr. Park's daughter.”  Hyunseung states the obvious when no one else says anything.

Junhyung chuckles.  “No .”

“No no no, guys! Look! It's Heeyoung! My Sanghee's best friend!”

“Your Sanghee? Girlfriend?”  All five of them stare at Yoseob weirdly,  “Since when is that girl yours?”

“No, no! Don't get me wrong.”  He chuckles sheepishly,  “Wait, you don't know Sanghee either?”  Seeing everyone shake their heads he sighs deeply.  “Remember when we shot our album pictures in England 2 years ago?”

“Yeah?”

“Ah!”  Dongwoon let out with a light gasp.  “She was the girl that was with our photographer. I remember because she pretended to be the real photographer and made me pose while she took pictures.” 

“Yep! That's her! Do you remember now?”  Seeing everyone else still shake their heads, Yoseob rolls his eyes and mutters to himself while still gazing at the picture in the article.  “Anyway if Heeyoung is here, it'd be great if Sanghee is too...” He grins, “I'm gonna try and ring her!”

[BACK TO PRESENT DAY]

Heeyoung sighs in relief as soon as she hears the final school bell ring, indicating that the school day is over.

She has been put under a lot of stress by the other students in the school (mainly the girls) as many of them keep asking her about her life in England, and a whole lot more questions about her father, the respected music producer.  The questions were tiring but it wasn't even the worst part.  What made her feel even more stressed were the stares the girls gave her after a small incident during lunch time.

While she was walking away from her lockers, she had accidentally bumped into a guy who caused her to drop her bag with all the books falling out.  Apparently the guy she bumped into wasn't just any random guy at the school, but the most popular one: Kim Eli.

She knew from the moment she saw him that if she didn't handle the situation well, this would turn into a big problem.

However, just telling him that it was okay and then walking away like nothing happened was not the solution.

That Kim Eli guy took an instant interest in her, and proceeded to pester her for the rest of the day.  

‘Hey! Let's be friends. Come on... Let's be friends!’ he said to me... Psh. No way!  Heeyoung thinks with a sigh.

She half expected the female population of the school to jump her and threaten her to stay away from their ‘oppa’ like in some dramas, but something even weirder happened.  It was actually Eli's best friend, Alexander, who started to bully her at every chance he got. 

It's been a long day, but the day is still far from over.

As she waits at the school gates for her driver, she's suddenly approached by another person.  Her immediate thought is that he'll cause even more problems for her, and she might end up lashing out at him all teary eyed and frustrated...  but that doesn't happen.  She pulls herself together and realises this person doesn't go to her school, and obviously doesn't know what she's been through already.  So what does he want?  

He looks suspicious with that scarf, hat and sunglasses.  Is he some sort of stalker?

“Hi, I'm Yang Yoseob! Maybe you remember me? Probably not. I'm an old friend of Sanghee's. Can you tell me if she's in Seoul?”  

“Wait. What?”  Heeyoung asks, staring at him with a raised eyebrow.  He spoke too fast.  “Sanghee who? Seo Sanghee?”

“Yes! Her! She came back with you too, right?” 

“Um, I don't even...”  A car stops in front of her, grabbing her attention.  Thankfully, it's her driver.

...know you...  She couldn't finish her sentence as the guy suddenly chuckled and muttered a quick ‘Sorry to bother,’ and walked away, leaving Heeyoung utterly confused.  How did he know Seo Sanghee and could he really call himself an old friend if he doesn't even keep in contact with her?

Well. I shouldn't really underestimate Sanghee. Heeyoung chuckles lightly whilst gazing out the window thoughtfully, popular in England and Korea, huh...

What a weird day it's been.
