first of all, i wanted to say sorry for not updating last week and yesterday because my schedule was so hectic. i'm truly sorry. so that's why i forced myself to update this story on sunday which is very rare. thank you anyways for waiting. see you down there.

His sword didn’t have any effect on them.

They were freaking invisible.

Sunggyu was whispering, “Myung, do you have time pause power?”

“No but my soul weapon has it, why?”

“Quick, time pause this moment so no one would be hurt. We need to get rid this person right here.”

And by then Myungsoo’s eyes had turned to bloodshot red and the so-called Oracle had come out. It was a silver blade decorated with some engraving on its bottom. It was very beautiful, it was like an ancient holdover passed from centuries to centuries. In fact, Sunggyu admired the Oracle more than his Whispersong.

Then Myungsoo whispered the power name. Time pause.

And everything just stopped, the water droplets from the sky was stopped, everyone’s action was stopped except the creature in front of them. Sunggyu just hoped this creature isn’t something that could overcome the Kim’s powers.

“Hyung, we need to get his blood or else we can’t survive here. We can’t just survive by psychokinesis, I’m afraid he could heal fast,” Myungsoo said.

And by the time Myungsoo finished his phrase, Sunggyu lifted his soul weapon and the ground was shaking a bit, the rocks were floating and Sunggyu directed the rocks to the creature. The creature was flustered at first but he could control it better.

Myungsoo’s eyes spotted a drop of blood from his cheek and quickly took the blood to his hand while Sunggyu stopped his invisible power and his eyes quickly turned black again while Myungsoo’s eyes were still red.

“Say, who are you?” Sunggyu’s angry tone was very obvious. He wasn’t angry but back before he was aiming on him and his brother. It wasn’t fair because the Kims didn’t do anything to him. Sunggyu threaten the creature by pointing his soul weapon to its face.

An unexpected respond came, the creature laughed so hard. “You’re so naïve, Sunggyu-ssi. I’m Kim Kibum the legendary vampire, can’t you see? Tsk, I even know your name while you don’t even know me,” He was showing his teeth, his fangs to be exact. The Kim brothers weren’t threatened at all.

Myungsoo put the blood drop to Kibum’s head and the blood saturate was fast enough to make Kibum vanish into a thin air in just three seconds. When they ensured that it was quite safe, Myungsoo stopped the time pause power and his eyes turned black too. They started to walk as usual.

“Have you ever seen him, Myung?”

Myungsoo’s face was a bit flustered, “I know him, Hyung. He was a cultangel.”

“He was?”

“Yeah, he WAS. Kim Kibum is our relative from our dad. He was uncle’s child and he was surely rebelling when the current Lord was chosen. He said that he should be the current Lord because he was more skillful but the previous Lord didn’t like him so he rebelled. Oh, and for your information the previous Lord which is the current Lord’s father didn’t like our uncle at all because our uncle rebelled a lot.”

“How could he turn into a vampire? I mean he was born to be a cultangel.”

“If we wanted to, we can transform. Basically cultangel has the highest power of all creatures. We can transform if we want too but there’s a punishment from the Lord if we wanted to. Kibum had his lifespan shortened by half while our Lord’s brother, Jung Ki Hyun had put into an eternal sleep.”

“But the Lord’s brother didn’t transform, right?”

“He did, in fact he wanted to transform to some kind of werewolf but since his own dad always purify him at night, he couldn’t do anything. But he wanted to transform and get out from Crysanville to destroy this human world.”

Sunggyu nodded, still processing the information his younger brother gave him. The world was already complex but the cultangel’s world was more and more complicated than our world was.

“Come on hyung let’s go home quickly,” Sunggyu just realized that he actually stood on the same spot as before and he quickly paced up.

Sunggyu was sitting on his sofa at the living room when he decided to open the envelope that his rector gave him. He was a bit flustered by the rector’s greeting, it was terribly friendly, too terrible until Sunggyu started to feel a bit afraid. He never met the rector before and the first impression of the rector wasn’t very good at all.

The envelope was brown colored. It was cute and small. Sunggyu took the letter off from it and opened the paper.

“Hyung? What are you reading about?” Myungsoo suddenly plopped out beside him on his sofa.

“Oh, Myung. It’s a scholarship offer.”

“Scholarship? What is that hyung?”

“Yeah, a program that offers you not to pay the school fee because of your achievements.”

“Whoa that’s great hyung! You should accept that! So that you shouldn’t struggle much with the fee.”

Sunggyu nodded and put the letter back to its envelope and put it on a small table in front of the sofa.

“Hyung, do you have someone in mind right now? I mean someone you like.”

Sunggyu choked on his own saliva, “W-why do you ask such a question to me? You know that cultangels couldn’t involve feelings right?”

“Well that was right but many cultangels has married with a human before and you seemed to have someone already and I wanted to meet the person. Tell me hyung and don’t lie.”

Sunggyu sighed, “Yes I have, his name is Nam Woohyun. He’s a usual human, not other creature perhaps.”

“Oh, it’s a he.”

“Yeah, don’t judge me because of my ual preference okay. My adoptive parents don’t know anything about that too. This world was a bit strict about that, well the western has already approved that but this country hasn’t or won’t so yeah I need to keep low.”

“It’s okay hyung, I think I have the same preference.”

Sunggyu raised his eyebrows, “Really?”

“Well yeah I’m not too sure about it but I didn’t seem to have my interest in some cultangel women before so…”

“I hope you will realized the preference soon,” Sunggyu chuckled at his younger brother.

The day had come by and it was actually time for Sunggyu to go to the academy and Myungsoo to start his first day at work. Sunggyu believed that Myungsoo wouldn’t find any problem at all because his appearance was so freaking fine (well what do you expect from such a beautiful mom) and since the café owner loved him a lot, Sunggyu was very sure he would get double from what he should get.

So that day, since Myungsoo hadn’t been too familiar with the directions, Sunggyu escorted him to the café and greeted him goodbye. He were walking to the academy because it wasn’t too far from the café and actually saw someone.

Nam Woohyun. He was walking alone at the academy’s lobby and there was a headphone stuck on his ears. The older wanted to greet him a good morning but realizing that it was very freaking impossible he just walked not realizing someone was holding his wrist and made him stopped from walking.

Sunggyu turned to see Woohyun held his wrist. A freaking Nam Woohyun was holding his wrist. Just imagine how Sunggyu’s heart was, maybe the cells were throwing party because of that. But despite of being happy, Sunggyu was worried, very worried to be exact because his Nam Woohyun looked so vulnerable. So helpless. His eyes were puffy. Sunggyu wanted to know why, Sunggyu was dying to know. He wanted to know what happened to his love. Sunggyu was going to kick some if he was hurt by someone.

“Woohyun? Why are you?” Sunggyu was looking to Woohyun’s eyes when the younger turned away, Woohyun didn’t want Sunggyu to see how weak he was.

When Woohyun didn’t answer him but instead he intertwined his fingers with Sunggyu, Sunggyu almost felt his heart was dying to go out from his chest.

“My mother.. She was said to have a cancer and the organ couldn’t be identified because the cancer cells have spread. The doctor said she could only live for half of a year.”

“Woohyun..”

Sunggyu looked at his surroundings. It was so early that only some of the academy staffs could be seen. Sunggyu pulled Woohyun to the restroom because he felt that it wasn’t appropriate to talk not in private.

“I’m afraid Sunggyu, I’m not ready to let go of my mom. She was the best mom I could ask for.”

Sunggyu looked at Woohyun’s face, it looked so troubled and sad.

Then Sunggyu pulled the younger into a hug, a friendly hug, “You need to be strong so that your mother could rely on you. So your mother doesn’t need to worry about you anymore. It is said that worrying about something too much could shorten one’s lifespan. So be strong, Woohyun.”

Woohyun sobbed on Sunggyu’s shoulder, “Thank you..”

Sunggyu was brought by Woohyun to the hospital (well Sunggyu couldn’t just refuse the offer when he could go on a “date” with his love). He just wished he had some healing power so that he could make Woohyun’s mother life span longer so that Woohyun could do something to make her happy for the last time of her life. But who was he? He was not the Lord or anyone. He’s just an ordinary cultangel.

It was evening when they both arrived at the hospital, Woohyun gestured Sunggyu to follow him quickly and they were arrived at a room. Woohyun opened it to reveal a middle-aged woman wearing white cloth sleeping  so peacefully on the hospital’s bed. She is beautiful, no wonder Woohyun is so handsome.

Woohyun went to kiss his mother on her cheek when the older startled and woke up (and was relieved it was her son), “Woo? You’re here.”

Woohyun smiled at his mother, “Yes, and I brought some companion.”

Woohyun’s mom looked at Sunggyu, and Sunggyu couldn’t help but to feel awkward.

“Oh is this Sunggyu that you’ve been telling me? If yes he is so cute, way and way cuter than my expectation. Come here boy, don’t feel awkward.”

Sunggyu was wondering how could someone who was suffering could be this cheerful but still he obeyed the order and walked closer to the bed and by then he could clearly saw some dark circles embraced her skin under her eyes and her skin tone was actually pale.

“Hello, I’m Sunggyu,” Sunggyu gave his best smile. Some of him was still wondering what did Woohyun tell to his mom but he chose not to care about that.

“Aigoo, you are so cute. I’m Woohyun’s mom, you can just call me mom too. It’s a bit awkward with Woohyun’s name in front of it.”

Sunggyu blushed and nodded, “Yes, mom.”

It feels like I’m married to Woohyun. Wait, what?!

And for two hours straight Sunggyu, Woohyun and his mom started to tell some stories and jokes when suddenly Sunggyu’s phone rang so loud. Sunggyu felt embarrassed and quickly excused himself outside and when he saw the caller’s ID, it was an unknown number. Sunggyu sighed and answered.

“Hello? It’s Kim Sunggyu here.”

“Hyung! Where are you? I have finished my shift an hour ago yet you didn’t show up.”

“Uh.. I’m at the hospital. Wait how can you call me? And yes, I will fetch you.”

“It is the café’s telephone, okay hyung thank y- WAIT WHO IS SICK?”

“Woohyun’s mother, Myung. Talk to you later okay.”

Sunggyu quickly went inside again to find Woohyun’s mother already fell asleep while Woohyun stared at him blankly.

“W-Woohyun, I need to fetch my brother up.”

“Okay..”

Sunggyu couldn’t help but to feel guilty because he was going to leave Woohyun alone at the hospital, “I will go back here after I fetch him okay?”

“No, you don’t need to. Besides, my brother are coming too. Thank you anyways for hearing my story.”

Sunggyu smiled and waved for the last time.

Sunggyu was running until he ran out of breath. He could see Myungsoo waiting outside the café sitting on a bench.

“Myung sorry… I didn’t look at the time. I really need to get you a phone right now.”

“Busy dating with Mr. Nam Woohyun hyung?” Sunggyu blushed at Woohyun’s name. Myungsoo really liked to tease his hyung whenever he was with or talking about Woohyun. “Nevermind, It’s okay as long you’re happy hyung. Why is his mother?”

“She got a cancer, the doctor said that she only has about half of a year.”

“Wow that was rude. You can just go and heal her, hyung.”

“How?”

“Wait, you don’t know?”

“Yeah well what do you expect from such a cultangel who wasn’t even born at Crysanville.”

Myungsoo rolled his eyes, “Okay hyung. Everyone who has the soul weapon could easily do that. And yeah as usual you just need to whisper the name.”

“But how can I do it in front of Woohyun?”

Myungsoo sighed, “Why is Woohyun a human?”

It’s Sunggyu’s turn to sigh, “Well fate is very cruel to me, indeed.”

“You just need to go there alone hyung, like when he had an activity?”

“But-“

“Trust me, hyung, It worked before with mine.”

Sunggyu sighed, “Okay. I believe you.”

It was the next day when Sunggyu decided to go alone to the hospital to heal Woohyun’s mother. He was afraid, heck, very afraid. He’s afraid that Woohyun’s mother might be awake when he arrived. And if she was awake when Sunggyu was using his power, his mother might die too soon because of heart attack.

But the truth is, when he opened the room, Woohyun’s mom was sleeping so soundly. Sunggyu locked the door slowly and walked closer to the bed.  He whispered his soul weapon’s name and the Whispersong appeared. Then he whispered.

Healing.
