Foreword
You know how the typical bad day starts? The lone cloud in the sky seemed to follow me. About halfway through my two mile trek to school, the cloud opened up an it began to pour. Not having my umbrella with me, I pulled up the hood of my jacket and began to run.
Once inside the school, I rested my hand on the face of the lockers to brace myself, as I tried to catch my breath. Someone brushed past me forcefully. After a faint tearing sound a weight was lifted from my shoulders, as my backpack fell to the ground with a clatter. I groaned softly, as I heard familiar voices growing nearer.
"You're a shoe-in for the lead." Wonsik's voice boomed
"You've been the lead every other year." Hongbin added cheerfully.
I bent my elbow and tried to hide my face. I heard a loud snap, and Wonsik's deep intake of breath. I closed my eyes tight praying that they would continue past. A hand fell on my shoulder. "Sorry man." Wonsik tapped my shoulder again, and continued on his way.
I exhaled, letting out the breath I didn't know I was holding. I wasn't worried about Wonsik, or Hongbin. The person with them is who had me worried. Jung Taekwoon. The Drama Club had dubbed him the king of musicals. Well known for his good gloomy looks, brooding personality, but best known for his singing voice.
In my 3rd and final year of high school. I made a grave mistake. I challenged Jung Taekwoon for the lead in the spring musical.
