You’re My Melody

Slender fingers danced across the black and white keyboard, drawing a beautiful melody from the classical instrument. The red curtains behind him shielded the blonde haired beauty from the piercing evening glare. White carpet soft under his feet as he stepped on the pedals, doe eyes focused on the chord sheets settled on the music rack. 

JiJi jumped onto the small empty space beside Jaejoong on the piano bench, leaving his companion poodle puppy to curl up next to the bench underneath. As if to test the waters, the Russian Blue pressed a paw at his owner’s thigh, once, twice, before he climbed on and splayed himself across the comfortable laps. 

The melody floating the room stopped abruptly, and Jaejoong clicked his tongue, glaring daggers at the music sheets in front of him. Furrowing his nicely shaped eyebrows, he lifted the pencil on the rack and crossed out a few notes on the music sheet, pouted. His fingers danced across the keyboards again, and soon after, he nodded at himself and added another section of notes to the music sheets. 

Distractedly, he ran his hand up on the grey fur of JiJi’s back, scratching behind soft ears. The cat on his lap meowed softly. Cherry lips formed a cute pout, Jaejoong stared at the empty second music sheet on the rack, mind blank from any inspirations.

He had the urge to write a soft ballad the moment he came back home from his morning schedules, and he had been sitting at the grand piano since then. Normally, he would’ve sat in front of his computer, electronic keyboard and guitar beside and in front, but he felt the need to create a grand song, a song with only the grand piano as the background. Yet after 4 hours, his original inspiration had settled the opening, the verse, the interval (with much difficulty), and the chorus, but here he was, stuck at the bridge of the song, the important part that leads to the final . 

“It’s not coming to me at all…” With a sigh, Jaejoong set down his pen and closed his eyes, picturing the fountain of all his inspirations in his mind, Jung Yunho. 

He recalls the memory of last night, and the dream he had this morning that brought his overwhelming urge to start creating this song in the first place.
