Devon has a sunkissed complexion as she spends a lot of her days outdoors. Sometimes her cheeks are more rosy than usual for the same reason. Her hair, is also a very light caramel brown as a result of constant sun exposure. Her hair is not coarse, or broom-like either; she takes very good care of it, so that it is shiny and soft to the touch. Her hair is naturally wavy, and she doesn't really have a distinct hairstyle. Often times she just pins it off to the sides or wears it in braids. Her hair length stops right under her s. Devon doesn't have have any scars, but she has a mole under her left clavicle. 

Decon has several tattoos as well. She has a rose on her inner right bicep (1), A Beauty and the Beast inspired thigh tattoo (2). Cherry Blossom wrist tattoos on her left wrist (3). Her last tattoo is a cluster of stars on her inner right foot/ankle (4).

background

There are a handful of stories saying how Korean adoptee's are mistreated in non-korean families. However, that's not quite the case for Devon. She's always held some type of resentment toward her birth parents and would rather forget them altogether. When she was born, her parents stayed with her for three months before putting her up for adoption. By late March, She was in the adoption system. Her birthparents wanted a fully open adoption agreement, but they also didn't want anybody outside of Korea to adopt her. It had proven difficult for Devon to be adopted by anybody and it had nothing to do with Devon, and everything to do with the arrangement her birth parents wanted. For years, Devon suffered within the adoption agency. It came to the point where this four year old girl told her birth parents to beat it. "Let me go already. You put me here, so just let me have a chance to be happy." 

With everything that was going on with their own seperate lives, they hadn't realized that their selfishness had been preventing Devon from being adopted. Instead of being the good parents they should have been, they had made thieir daughter miserable, practically unadoptable! They withdrew their parental rights following Devon's outburst. Anybody was eligible to adopt devon and they didn't even have to send them a single photo afterwards if that is what it took for Devon to have her best chance. 

Luckily for her, Devon was scooped up by a family of four (at the time). She went home to a Mother who wanted to make her feel included, a father who would give her the world, and two lovely brothers who were patient with her while she tried to learn English. She was the first adopted child to enter the Harlow family. Though her story isn't as tragic, her other siblings have more complicated stories. She's grateful to her forever mother Delancee. 

When the adption was finalized, Delancee and Quinten made her birth parents feel included as well. They took photos and video's of her everyday and compile them into a monthly package (almost like a dsubscription box without the monthly fee) and they'd send it out to Devon's birth parents. It was a neat idea until Devon turned eighteen and ordered them to stop. She didn't have much of an interest when it came to her birth parents. To her, Delancee and Quinten were her parents. She didn't need her birthparents coming into the picture and confusing her all over again.

No matter how hard it was for Devon, Delancee worked to make it easier. It was no secret that as soon as Devon was a member of the family, Delancee put all her attention onto her while Quinten focussed on the boys. Delancee knew it was essential to make Devon fit in as much as possible and as she grew, Devon realized that Delancee was always on her side, the way a true mother would be. Devon holds a love for Delancee that nobody could ever take away from her, and though Devon doens't share EVERY secret with Delancee, they are quite close. On days when its just the, they get together have a tea, and catch up.

Yes, Delancee spent most of her time with Devon, but they did switch off with the kids to make sure Devon got used to everyone, as a family. The best thing Quinten  had given Devon was his kindness and understanding. Whenshe fell, he nursed her, when she was sick, he cared for her until she was back to health. He had become Devon's rock through hard times.  Because of this, she's more inclined to go to Quinten when things aren't as good as they should be.

To Rino, Devon had taken up a lot of his mother's time, and he resents that, but between them it's best just to keep a safe distance so that nothing turns sideways. They respect each other though, as much as they can. So in other words, it's complicated. They'll have small talk here and there at home, but it's like they don't even know eah other on the streets.

Hello, I'm Devon and i'm twenty years young..." She pauses, lips quirking up into a smile. "I live in Carmel-By-The-Sea, California, in a family of nine. I have lived here for the past seventeen years, and it's all thanks to my forever parents who adopted me when I was four years young."

that's quite the introduction! now that we're all acquainted, lets start with the questions. devon do you have a job? if so, where at, and walk us through a day in the life at work? — "Right, I work as a vendor on the beach. It's my parents love and pride. Since I'm not attending classes on campus anymore, I usually show up around 10am and work my shift 'til about 6pm when one of my other siblings comes to take their shift. At work, when it's slow, I'll most likely be catching up on shows or watching movies. Of course, before all that, I make sure my online courses are up to date. I'm currently trying to become an event planner."

devon, what is your opinion on love? — "Love?" She pauses. "That's a loaded question..." She huffs. "Love is fickle. It...wow. Uhm, Love is crazy and insane, and it makes you do crazy things." She shrugs. "Love is love." 

interesting enough. and how would you feel about falling in love?  — "Falling in lo-" She shakes her head. "I think it would be everything I imagined it to be, and then some." She rolls her eyes. "Sorry, I...Haven't had a lot of positive experiences in love and the love I feel for...Forget it."

Okay, what would you narrow your ideal type down to? in other words, what do you look for in a partner? — "I think it would have to be somebody who I can have meaningless conversations with. We'd talk about everything and nothing, while staring up at the sky and watching the earth do it's thing. I'd like my man to be intelligent, but witty, humorous. He doesn't have to be outrageously good looking, and he doesn't have to be jacked with money. I like what's on the inside more than anything. If you can figure my brain out, we'd be compatible."

oooohhh *wiggles around in seat* daaamn. that's the scoop! next question. how long would you like to be acquainted with somebody before you thought about moving onto the next level in a relationship? — "I'll take a chance with somebody I just met if there's a connection...however, if i'm feeling that I want a serious relationship, I would let them know, and see where it takes us."

do you think life begins or ends at marrieage? FURTHERMORE, WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ON MARRIAGE? — "A new life begins when you get married. I think that a door opens, the one where you wake up to somebody every morning, and you sort of just keep adding more onto your plate. I think marriage isn't something you should do to just do it. You should be sure, you should be ready before you commit to somebody like that."

do you think it's okay to live with your partner without intending to marry them? — "I think it's okay as long as both parties are aware of this fact."

do you prefer to stand out in a crowd? — "I prefer to just enjoy myself. When I go to a party, I dress and act according to my mood. Sometimes I stand out, sometimes I don't and that's okay."

do you prefer an older or younger partner? — "I do prefer older men. I like somebody who knows what they want and has their life figured out."

in life, what comes first to you?  — "Family first, Always."

have you ever cheated or been cheated on  in a realtionship? if so, please explain. — "Haven't been cheated on, but I have dated some grade A douchebags."

are you good with children? — "I'd like to say so. But I'm not a mother so I'm sure I'd have to learn a lot about children before having them."

do you think it's okay to lie, if you think you'll never get caught? — "Lying is never okay. Do I lie? Sometimes. I think everybody is guilty of it, and if they say they've never done it, they're lying through their teeth."

what would you do if your significant other fell in love with somebody else? — "I'd let them go no matter how hard it would be for me. I can't stand being in a relationship or holding my partner hostage in a relationship if they don't feel the same way for me."
