Age: 19
Ethnicity: chinese
Caste: middle

zhao CHUNMENG 趙春夢
"As you say."

appearance and fashion:

- being a shrine maiden, chunmeng has very simple clothing. more often than not, it's just a white upper blouse, with a long skirt that tucks the blouse in. she wears simple cloth shoes which are sometimes adorned with red patterns (though they're mostly plain). her hair is more often than not tied, and goes down in a single ponytail down her back. (i'm basing this off japanese shrine maidens idk what chinese shrine maidens should look like)

if and when she goes out, chunmeng dresses in clothes of a commoner; plain colours, mostly pastel. she usually wears her hair in a simple way, reflecting of her own status.

personality:

+ patient, determined, polite, obedient, kind
= tough, independent
- distrustful, quiet, reserved, blunt

being a shrine maiden, one has to have a certain degree of patience in order to endure the daily workings, especially the over-enthusiastic religious fanatics. alright, sometimes. she's also extremely polite, and doesn't treat anyone badly. she often goes out of her way to help others, be it asked of her or not.

she's also very obedient, always listening to the priest and doesn't go against him. she's also loyal to the shrine and her deity, thus recieving powers for her service. chunmeng is also a very determined individual, and doesn't really stop at much to get what she wants, until she gets it. though, of course, without not working for it.

having lost her parents at a young age and being taken care of the shrine since a young age, chunmeng is a very independent individual, and is very capable of taking care of herself. she's also mentally strong, which she has to be in order to alleviate others' troubles.

however, because she grew up not really having anyone to rely on, and only knowing the priest as her parental figure, chunmeng grew to be distrustful of others around her, and doesn't trust easily, even to this day. she's also quiet, and goes about her duties silently. one reason was not to bother anyone who's in the shrine, and another is that she doesn't have the need to speak when she works, and thus doesn't.  this would also show her reserved nature, which stems from her distrust of everyone around her; she doesn't confine in anyone and doesn't see the need to either.  however, when she speaks and needs to speak she's often blunt in her words, and doesn't find the need to mince them or sugarcoat anything. if there's anything to be said, chunmeng would say it, and isn't afraid to say it.

background

ever since she had memories (which was about the age of four; she was a late bloomer), chunmeng had known that she grew up in the shrine that she now serves at, being told that she was orphaned there. chunmeng didn't really have an exciting childhood; she was groomed and raised to believe in the particular religion she was in, as well as spent most of her childhood training her magic.

being sheltered since a young age, chunmeng doesn't really know the realities of the world, and sees them as a common part of life, until she goes out to the slums one day to deliver something when she was a teen, and realised how bad life was for the common people. when she was about 17, the emperor's policies started to affect the clergymen, which made her furious, and elicited her anger even more, and thus began her plots against the monarchy.

relations

her mentor ; wu qian ; unknown ; 10/10 ; the head priest of the shrine, wu qian was her mentor since a young age, and was also the only parental figure she had known. he was the one who realised the potential in her magic, and trained her to become the elegant young lady she is now.

her companion ; xue ; 1 years old ; 9/10 ; a street cat that she picked up on one of her ventures (and wu qian being none too thrilled about it), she took her in and took care of her ever since. xue is docile and obedient, and never leaves muddy footprints in the shrine (ahem). because she's often seen wandering around in the shrine, the people sees her as a symbol of the goddess that the shrine helps worship.

weapons

she can thrash some with a long-handled object, like a broom or something, but that's about it.

MAGIC

being the shrine maiden of the yang goddess, she has acquired her powers through devotion and service. these powers include conjuring up illusions, shielding herself from mortal eyes, manipulating of creatures of the night etc. etc.

interview

1. Introduce yourself.
- greetings. i am zhao chunmeng, servant of the yang goddess.

2. Why do you want to overthrow the emperor?
- he has caused the common people much distress. through his policies, it affects all of those who serve under our united religion. we cannot possibly allow this tyranny to continue.

3. Why should we let you join us?
- my powers, i believe, would do your cause good.

qian moxiao (謙墨蕭)
ten (nct) / kun (nct)

appearance and fashion:
- seeing as moxiao is a warrior in training, he dresses in proper attire most of the time, and his clothing definitely reflects comfort and practicality rather than style.

- one thing he does wear to make his clothing stand out is definitely his weapons belt, but that's about it. (i can't find one online but just know that it's made of leather with cloth sewn on top of it so it looks like an ordinary cloth belt but has leather beneath)

personality:
+ determined, protective, ambitious, loyal
- stubborn, impulsive, reserved, irritable

honestly, without ambition and determination, moxiao wouldn't be where he is today, and it is all thanks to his determination to protect his family, and his ambition to become someone worthy of his family, that he decided to venture to the zhong region to enlist in his majesty's services. he's also fiercely protective of his special people, and wouldn't hesitate to throw his life on the line to protect them. being part of the secret service, he's also fiercely loyal, especially to the emperor.

despite his training however, moxiao couldn't get rid of his impulsive nature, and sometimes act brashly. he's also rather irritable, though only when he's triggered. he's training to get that under control, as well, and often visits the yang goddess' shrine to help him with his control. (or whatever) he's also stubborn, refusing to back off anything that he believes in. and being someone others usually view as a 'country bumpkin' because he came from the dong region, moxiao found keeping to himself a better alternative. it's easier that way, as well.

background:
- born to a poor family in the dong region, moxiao grew up in the land of lumber and woods, and learnt the trade since a young age. being the oldest son of the family, he was determined to help the family earn their share of the keeping, but sadly, his father passed away at the age of fifteen. knowing that there was no way to support his mother and sisters through just lumber work, he decided to go to the zhong region and enlist himself as a soldier, so as to earn higher wages and the ability to protect his family.

instead, he found himself amongst the ranks of a secret service to the emperor. while they are guards, they are also those who protect the emperor and escorts him in his daily dealings. so now, he's part of that secret service.

love story:
- realising his faults, moxiao started vising the yang goddess' shrine more to help him with his subtlety and control of his temper, where he met chunmeng. while it wasn't exactly love at first sight, it was a budding relationship, as it was often only the two of them there (moxiao's duties let him only be there during either early morning or late night). they started to talk to each other more, and came to an understanding, especially with family. and it just grows from there i suppose

ending:
- up to youuuuu but make it happy pls :')
