eryue han 二月寒
"Life is but a stage, with men destined to play their assigned roles forver."

appearance and fashion:

- (okay hi first of all I'm not sure which period of time y'all are going back to so I'm just going for the looks I want which are set in 民國; essentially the years after the Qing dynasty was overthrown)

Eryue Han is a slender man, who has a very clean and slightly feminine face, as well as features. This contributes largely towards his performance as a female role onstage, as it makes everything look convincing. He is rather tall, standing at 178, though his presence and training makes him stand straighter and seem as if he towers over the others.

As for his clothing, Eryue Han usually picks clothing that are practical for use and shows off his clean and neat personality. He prefers traditional clothing more than any 'modern' version of clothing, and insists upon it even if advice dictates otherwise. He normally has quite a scholarly appearance, and his colour palette consists of lighter, but still pastel colours. Occassionally, when he's feeling upset, he wears darker colours. Basically, his clothing reflect his moods.

When he's onstage however, everything becomes more dramatic and undergoes a change. He puts on feminine makeup, and puts on whatever stage clothing he needs to in order to inhabit the character he's playing.

Normal:

Performance:

- faceclaim/backup: lee minhyuk (btob)/(monsta x)

personality:

+ Patient, responsible, hardworking, determined, gentle
= Tough, independent
- Irritable, sensitive (vulnerable to emotional turmoil), distrustful, distant, reserved

Because he had to fend for himself and his sister since a very young age, Eryue Han became very independent and tough, knowing from early on that it was no use to rely on anyone but oneself.

From his childhood, he also learnt that losing one's temper over trivial and other things does one no good, which translated to his adult life. Since he had endured the harshness of the older generation, he tries to be kind to his pupils, and is patient and gentle when teaching.

Being in charge of his sister since young, Eryue Han is also a very responsible person. Even more so now, when he's in charge of other pupils. Moreover, having been thrown into that life since a young age, he also knew that working hard was the only way to proceed and improve oneself, and hence is hardworking. Also, whatever he is determined to achieve and had put his mind to, he will work on it until he's finished.

Despite the generous amount of patience he has, Eryue Han is easily irritable when he finds traits undesirable in his pupils, such as laziness. He gets angry very easily when he sees that they aren't trying their best and still wants to succeed, because that's not how the world works.

Because he's a stage performer, Eryue Han is easily sensitive to emotions, as he has to get in touch with his characters' personalities. This sometimes translates to his real life, and he usually has a hard time coping with emotional things.

Also, since he has to learn to fend for himself from a young age, Eryue Han is distrustful of people around him, though he's polite to them. He rarely trusts people unless they prove their worth to him. This then causes him to be rather distant and reserved around others, which may be misunderstood to hostility. But the fact was, he's just not trusting y'all.

background

Eryue Han was born to a poor family in the Zhong Region, who sold him and his sister immediately to an opera troupe at the age of four, where they trained him to become a Chinese opera performer. Since young, he had lost his parents, and was the sole protector of his little sister, who was more vulnerable to the hardships of life than he was.

As he grew up, Eryue Han learnt the skills of both his trade and life, which eventually stuck to him and made him mature as a person. He also grew through the ranks of his troupe too, until he became the second highest in command at the age of 19. Rumours had it that he seduced the troupe-master to get the role, but the fact was, he did it out of pure hard work.

Now, after the troupe-master had died, Eryue Han has became the troupe master, and is in charge of all the operations within it. He is also a widely known performer in the Zhong Region now, and had been invited to perform for the Emperor himself.

relations

his sister ; sanyue chun ; 19 years old ; weki meki's suyeon ; 10/10 ; eryue han's sister, they were both children when their parents sold them to the chinese opera troupe. while he had the will to survive, she was more vulnerable to the hardship of training, and was ultimately deemed not strong enough to make the cut, and was 'moved' to another area of training, causing her to disappear entirely. now that eryue han has many needed resources, he is trying desperately to find her.

his best friend ; shen shuangyue ; 22 years old ; NEX7's zhu zhengting ; 10/10 ; another child sold off to the mercy of the entertainment circles of back then, shuangyue was the only friend he had growing up. they were practically inseperable, and shuangyue's family came from the nan region. eryue han later found out that shuangyue wasn't sold, but instead his family sent him for training to support them. he now works as a performer under eryue han's troupe, second-in-command of the troupe, though mostly a free spirit.

his complicated past; hu junyu ; 24 years old ; history's kyungil ; 3/10 ; an aristocrat who went to his shows, junyu was someone who was used to geting what he wants, and quick. he was originally interested in sponsoring eryue han, and when he was refused, got slightly offended. nonetheless, he made approaches to eryue han, until he finally accepted to perform in private for him. junyu got confused, and mistook eryue han as a woman, and did...unforgivable things to him. nonetheless to say, they don't communicate anymore.

weapons

having worked with weapon props during performance, eryue han has a brief idea of how everything works. having said that, he does have a few main weapons, which includes:

hand to hand combat
proficiency: 10/10
- eryue han is most proficient in hand-to-hand combat. while he was trained in this for chinese opera performances, eryue han did take lessons outside of training to make sure he can protect himself and his sister (until she disappeared, of course) from unwanted attention

spear
proficiency: 9/10
- again, stems from his performance background. eryue han trains with this for an abnormal time every day, and self-learns the skill. while he is best at using the spear, eryue han can display the same skills with similar long-lengthed weapons, like...a hugeass bamboo stick or something. moreover, when he was little, the person who taught him how to wield these weapon props actually knows how to use the real things too. since he had taken a liking to eryue han, and felt pity for his situation, the man decided to teach him how to use a spear for real.

sword
proficiency: 6/10
- also stems from performance training. the motivation to learn how to wield a sword increases when the former troupe master gifted him his prized sword. though he's learning, eryue han isn't as good at the sword as he is at the spear, though he can still defend himself pretty well.

interview

1. Introduce yourself.
- Greetings. My name is Eryue Han; the chinese opera performer. You have probably heard of me.

2. Why do you want to overthrow the emperor?
- I dislike the upper classes. a...certain bad experience in the past had taught me that the upper castes like to exploit middle classes like us. i would like to change that, if possible.

3. Why should we let you join us?
- i believe my background can largely contribute to your cause.

liu biinsheng (劉斌笙)
woong (ab6ix) /donghyun (ab6ix)

appearance and fashion:
- like a lot of the performers who assume female roles, binsheng also has very feminine and slender features and build. however, because he hadn't gone through the hardships that eryue han and the others had gone through, binsheng doesn't have that hollow look in his eyes,

- fashion: when binsheng is training, he usually wears training clothes which doesn't have that much flair. when he has duties to attend to, or is out on behalf of his family, he wears clothes that suits his caste and his family's status.

personality:
+ gentle, passionate, determined
- stubborn, irritable, impulsive

binsheng, being raised in an aristocracy environment, learnt gentleness and to be polite and have manners. (he was trained in the art of having manners) however, because he was raised in a very strict household, when he found something he's interested in, binsheng becomes really passionate and determined to achieve his goals, such as his passion for chinese opera.

however, because he's so determined to hang onto the things he's passionate for, binsheng can be really stubborn when he wants to, amd doesn't easily give up. as he's raised in a very affluent household, binsheng is also easily irritable when things doesn't really turn out the way he wants. lastly he's also impulsive, and likes to do things his own way and whenever he wants.

background:
- binsheng is the second son of the liu family, who is one of the top aristocrat families under the emperor. because he was the second oldest, his family was slightly more lenient on him, and let him pursue chinese opera after he showed a lot of interest after attending a performance.

and so his childhood was spent on studying and chinese opera. to be honest, the only time he felt he was free was during those little getaways, and his family didn't seem to mind anyways so it seemed alright, until his older brother died when binsheng was 16.

since then, he was forced to act like the oldest son in the household, and he was expected to take over the family once he's an adult. now, binsheng was forced to abandon his passion and focus on his family duties as family head.

love story:
- when binsheng first joined the troupe, no one really wanted to approach him since he was aristocracy, you know. since eryue han was considered a loser in the troupe, the other kids just pushed him forward when the troupe master forced them to make friends with binsheng. as they grew up together, they found a sort of mutual reliance on each other. since eryue han is constantly emotionally distant, and binsheng was the only one who could convince him to open up and help him through his turbulent days (shuangyue has a fiery personality as well), they began to rely on each other more and eventually thiings developed.

ending:
- tbh idk??? up to you guys :)
