born to an aristocratic family belonging to the upper caste, guiwan practically has everything at her fingertips and command. because of her beauty, she is often doted on, and her father gives her anything she wants, on one condition - to recieve education. now, in those days, women usually don't go to school, but because her family is rich and her father wants her to be able to protect herself properly, she goes to school.

being the daughter of an aristocrat, she basically has nothing to do all day except learn skills and recieve her education. and being a person who likes to go out and do something, guiwan decided to join the royal performing troupe (ok so, there are a bunch of people that usually performs for the emperor whenever there are major events, but these people - who are often girls - come from poor families or are concubines), which was objected to. 

and of course, being a strong-willed person, guiwan got her way and joined it at 15. the mistress of the troupe was kind to her because she was from aristocracy, but her skills helped her establish her standing. now, at the age of 19, she's probably one of the best dancers, and sometimes help teach the younger girls.

her brother ; hu junyu ; 24 years old ; history's kyungil ; 10/10 ; her only full-blooded elder brother (you know, cause high-ranking men those days tend to have concubines), junyu is to be the heir of his father's estate. the two practically grew up together, and junyu is fiercely protective of his younger sister. now that they're grown up, however, junyu's duties as his father's advisor and assistant often takes him away more than he likes, and so they don't see each other that often. but despite that, the two are extremely close.

her best friend ; qian shiling ; 19 years old ; clc's elkie ; 9/10 ; the daughter of a neighbouring aristocratic family, shiling and guiwan were playmates since young. shiling, however, is the opposite of guiwan, being brought up in a more conservative household. in some ways, shiling is sometimes jealous of guiwan's freedom, though the two are practically sisters and didn't matter. 

her other best friend ; wang yingyue ; 19 years old ; twice's tzuyu ; 8/10 ; yingyue is one of the girls in the performing troupe with guiwan. born in a poor family, she was sold off at a young age and thus was trained in the industry since a very long time. at first, she was jealous of guiwan having so much and getting everything so easily, but after a period of time, the two became close and are friends now. yingyue is also the one who dragged guiwan into the rebellion.

- despite her family's leniency, of course they won't let her handle sharp weapons or anything of the sort. nor do they encourage her to fight, but on one of his travels, her brother found an antique that he thought really suited her, which is this dagger. guiwan mostly carries it around as a good luck charm (hidden in her clothes, of course), but she can't use it. at all.

- wait...overthrow the emperor? what is this about? i thought it's just a group of sorts...yingyue told me as such. i didn't realise what purpose this is for.
