That's why some others call him teddy bear, because he's so soft and fluffy, and the younger trainees love cuddling him for his soft pillow belly and thicc thighs.

- Korean + 100% + Jaewook is very soft spoken when he's not singing so he isn't always that understandable. He doesn't have a lot of volume to him when he isn't belting out notes... He also has a slight local dialect in his speech. Even his singing is most of the time very soft and pleasant to listen to.
- Japanese + 60% + Japanese is Fly's thing. It's a language that he got to learn with ease and that is an easy one to get a hang of for this boy. It fits him, you know? Japanese is a very soft and sweet language and that just fits Fly's voice and way of speaking, so he picks it up easily. The one problem is learning to actually write it... Stupid dyslexia, smh.

Intelligent + Jaewook is a smart boy. He was always a good kid in class that did his work, but even when he didn't do his work he'd still get really good grades. Because of his smarts, Jaewook picks up skills quickly, including the skills needed to be an idol, like vocal, dancing and acting. The only skill he can't seem to pick up is talking in front of an audience. Singing is fine, but if he talks he can't do well at all, because of his incredible shyness and insecurities. His intelligence have helped him greatly through life. Sometimes, other trainees ask him for random fun facts, he knows a lot of those that he picked up while researching a certain topic. He likes learning these facts and astonishing others with them. His smarts also helped him a lot with becoming a favoured trainee in Genesis88, he is growing so fast.
Caring & worrisome + Because of his caring personality, Jaewook became one of the mom trainees. He didn't really claim that title, he just got it given to him by the show's babies (and Jongho). They want him as their mom because of him caring so much, combined with his fluffy, cuddly body. He's naturally very caring despite being shy. He'll take care of people, make sure they're feeling good, help them with things and look out for them. Because of his insecurities, Jaewook also worries a lot. He worries too much. He's always worrying about at least one thing, and it'll make him nervous. People often tell him to chill, but he can't help being a doom thinker and worry about the smallest things. He'll often be pacing around the dorms thinking about things, especially when a trainee is out. He'll be ready to file a missing person report after 10 minutes.
Calm & quiet + Jaewook is the opposite of Jongho and Jaegyu in this field. He prefers to stay to himself and not say much unless it's needed. He doesn't have much to say, really. Jaewook would rather observe, and he greatly values his me-time and will often chase out his roommates in the dorm to have some of his me-time to just calm down and arrange his thoughts. Jaewook worries a lot, but when everyone else is running around like headless chickens, Jaewook will usually be the one that remains calm and can resolve the situation, even though he's worried sick. He doesn't often show his worries, and even if he is dead worried, he'll still be able to think rationally, which is a great thing in this mess of a trainee group.
Neat + Jaewook likes things in order and looking nice. The dorm room will always be sparkly clean when Jaewook's in charge, and it will smell great as well. It's a great way to relax and feel statisfied for Jaewook, and forget about his worries for a bit. It's kind of an escape. Many people don't get why he views cleaning like this, but its just good for Jaewook's mind, and for everyone's health and noses cause the dorm smelling really nice makes everyone else also feel better.
Competitive + You might be surprised, you might not be surprised, but Jaewook is very competitve, just like his best friend Jongho. But the difference is that Jaewook is a very fair player while Jongho is ready to throw in a little cheating at any time, and that Jaewook is quiet about it. It'll be in his mind. He absolutely hates losing but he won't be yelling and grumbling about it, he'll look defeated and sulky, but won't really say much about it. On the inside his mind is just going wild, but he'd rather keep those emotions bottled up. When he wins though, it all comes out, competitive Fly shows his face, and it'll be a beaming ray of light. Like damn, you can never see him smile this brightly unless he's looking at a potential crush, it's blinding, adorable, 10/10 would let him win again to see him sparkle. Even Jongho would let him win, cause seeing him shine like this is a win for him as well.
Shy & insecure + Jaewook isn't a people person, he's more of a dog and cat person. He'll feel nervous around strangers and need his own sweet time to open up to people (how long it takes depends entirely on the personality of the other person). He feels nervous in big groups, especially when most of them are strangers. He doesn't need much friends because he'd rather just have the few that he can really trust. It's hard to get into Jaewook's heart, but even when he doesn't really trust you yet, he'll still care for you because its just in his nature. Shy mama Jaewook coming through to cuddle the children! A big reason for Jaewook's shyness are his insecurities. Being a worrywart, Jaewook feels insecure about anything that's not perfect about him. His dancing, his weight (especially after people started a hate thread on it), his face, his English skills, pretty much anything. Even if Jaewook was perfect, he'd still find something to feel insecure about. And the worst part of all is that just like his worries, it doesn't often show, and it'll end up in him suffering alone without anyone else knowing. Jaegyu and Jongho know him so well that they can sense his worries from over a mile away, and they will come running to comfort their boy.
Pessimistic + yeah, he's a real doom thinker. The worries can really get to his head. It wasn't really a problem when he was an esports pro, but ever since he got into the idol world and he had to start all over again, it got way worse. The idol world is very cutthroat and harsh and Jaewook didn't expect it to be that hard. Especially in the beginning, when his dancing isnt too good yet and he doesn't really know anyone outside of the KQ trainees and Jongho, he'll feel like he'd never be able to do it. One thing wrong and Jaewook falls into a hole nowadays. He needs Jongho, Jaegyu or other close friends around him, so when he grows closer to other trainees, he'll be better.
BACKGROUND
Jaewook was born as the oldest child of a middle class family that lived in Oksan. Actually, he came in a package, with a twin sister. Jaewook and Jaegyu. While Jaegyu was loud, outgoing and active, Jaewook preferred to stay to himself and do things on his own in his room. They were polar opposites, Jaewook often had to drag Jaegyu out of trouble because of her dumb, big mouth. While his twin sister was off doing gymnastics and making friends, Jaewook got an interest in music. He joined the music school in elementary school and learned how to play the piano and also followed vocal class. Outside of that he didn't really have much friends. He mostly got dragged along by Jaegyu to her friends. The only one he really was super close with was a kid of the same class, Kwak Jongho. Rowdy and dorky just like Jaegyu, you could see why Jaewook liked him so much.
While Jaegyu started to take her hobby, gymnastics, very seriously when they grew older, Jaewook was concentrating more on regular class, and caring for his newborn little brother. He felt like he was everything Jaegyu wasn't, but they never fought. Jaegyu went off to gymnastics competitions all the time, starting to climb to the top and preparing to appear on national competitions. Jaewook viewed his piano and singing more as a hobby, for fun. One day, in 2010, Jaegyu came home and started yelling to Jaewook about a videogame, League of Legends, and that he should try it. It was hard at first cause Jaegyu was a gamer, and Jaewook wasn't, but he got hooked, and incredibly skilled. He started to quietly dream about having a short career in esports. It was brand new and small, but he felt like it was going to be good to play, just a few years. Esports careers never really last long. They have an even shorter expiration date than kpop idols... After that, he could still go study or something. And while Jaegyu was becoming known on the national and international gymnastics scene, Jaewook was grinding to become a pro at league of legends.
He got a contract offer in mid 2012 to become a trainee at Azubu Blaze. He was there for a year, when Azubu blaze changed to CJ entus Blaze. They went on to grab some tournament victories that year. Fly was gaining fame for his unique playstyle, different from others in his position, and his looks, of course. Fly was the sweet flower boy of the league. Some players of CJ Entus Blaze came on to become legends, like Flame, Captain Jack and Ambition, but Fly kinda stayed behind. He separated with the team at the end of 2013, and went to NaJin white shield for two years, where he'd make top 8 in the world with. In 2015 he joined the newly promoted team Afreeca freecs. After winning the Kespa Cup in late 2015, getting third twice and going to worlds again, Fly was feeling very statisfied with what he had done in his career. A Kespa cup and two world championship appearances were already quite a nice resumé. He started to feel strain and pressure from the endless playing, and was thinking that maybe it was almost time to retire. Of course, he talked a lot about it with Jaegyu, and Jongho as well. He was thinking of trying out to be an idol, but he didn't think he would be able to. 'Wookie, your singing is great, you're surely going to make it', Jaegyu said. It made Jaewook feel more courage to actually go out and try it, but he was scared, so he hung around in the esports career. He made worlds once more in 2019 and placed top 8 again, but announced his retirement right after.
Jaegyu had already retired from gymnastics at the time and was busy training with KQ, while Jongho had become an underground rapper who would go on SMTM9 that next year. Jaewook was surrounded by people in music, and he didn't want to be left behind. He wanted to start auditioning for companies but covid stopped him from doing it. Instead, he practiced in his apartment in Seoul, sometimes joined in by Jaegyu or Jongho. Following online dance classes and keeping up his vocals as well. But he was getting old, and didn't really have the visuals to push him into a company. Jaewook was worried that he wouldn't be able to ever make it, until Genesis88 opened auditions. He was afraid, but both Jaegyu and Jongho pushed him to do it. Jongho even decided to tag along! And Jaegyu apparently was too, but Jaewook didn't know that, his twin sister deliberately keeping this a secret just to mess with her precious brother.

She just bit him and he was in love. Pea is a little sassball who will show you her when she isn't liking your attention to then strut away proudly. She WILL knock things off the table. Hello, please introduce yourself : hi... I'm Song Jaewook, former league of legends pro, individual trainee and... People often call me the bunny boy. It's nice to meet you.
What is your reason for joining the show? : I've been thinking of leaving esports to become an idol for years already, but I was scared. Once I got the courage, the pandemic stopped me on my tracks. Genesis88 is my chance to finally show myself.
What do you consider your strengths? : People always say that I am a good singer and fast learner. Jongho also says I have a good smile... I, however, don't believe that I have many strengths to show...
Is there anything new you want to try on the show? : Honestly, everything on this show is new to me, I'll just go with the flow and see what songs peak my interest.
What is your view on Genesis88? : It's my best chance yet to get my new career started, and I'm here with Jongho, who gives me a lot of courage, so I am ready.
Would you ever try to compete for the center or leader role? : Leader, perhaps, I'm often called a mom, but center? Please don't give that to me. I am not center material.
And finally, what advice would you have for your younger self that's about to audition for the first time? : I wish I had started training earlier, so I want to say 'just take the leap, better earlier than later, cause look at where I'm at now, it's desperate times.'

While Jaewook tries his best to protect his baby twin sister, Jaegyu is mostly the one who protects him. They have the typical twin telepathy and have their own odd stories about it. Like when Jaegyu injured herself, Fly was practicing league of legends, he randomly screamed out and had to leave the game because he was in such distress. Even when they are in different countries, they still have that connection. Whenever they see each other, strangers mistake them for a couple, because they don't look that much alike. It's especially their mannerisms that shows that they are related (like the squatting). It is so obvious that they are twins once you take a proper look at them.

He's Jaewook's world, a little ray of sunshine that needs to be protected at all costs. The twins are super protective and possessive over their little brother, but also , but he teases them too, making the twins really flustered, because they still can't believe how savage their little baby can be. Jongho has been friends with the twins since they were in kindergarten. He is definitely mega close with Jaegyu too, sharing a very similar energy, but his best friend through thick and thin will always be Jaewook. He's become an underground rapper under the alias StXrm, and has participated in show me the money 9 before this. He did think about becoming an idol before, but he's mainly here to help Jaewook achieve his dream, and to have a good time while he's at it. Jaewook has had no proper idol training prior to the show, all he could do was follow classes since childhood. He has been singing his whole life and took on dancing since 2020, also picking up some rap from Jongho. But he only really started to seriously train a few months before Genesis88 began, wanting to gain a lot of skills before the show began.
Life on Genesis88 :
At first, Jaewook is one of the shy trainees, but once he makes a few friends, he will start opening up more and expressing himself. He depends a lot on Jaegyu and Jongho in the early episodes, but will become more independent as he advances further (hopefully). He'll become popular for his bunny smile, gentle personality and his quickly growing abilities. Jaewook is always one of the first people to remember a choreography, even though it isn't polished as the true dancers do it.
The audition : Jongho and Jaewook performed M.I.B's Chisa bounce. It was not the most outstanding, of course, but it was fun, it had everyone out of their seats dancing and laughing. Jongho and Jaewook really showcased a lot of charm despite their lack of general training.
