I was out the whole day with my friends. we went to another university to study in their library because the study area in my college is closed today and tomorrow.

 

We went out for dinner after studying in a sushi bar. (the kind where they have the sushi belts)

 

so everything was going like normal, my friends were waiting for their food. they ordered set meals (those rice with soup and stuff) but i decided to treat myself by eating those sushi on plates for being a good girl and studying the whole day. (just to be clear this place serves good sushi at a cheap price, that's the only reason why i was wiling to treat myself like that.. lol)

 

I took a cup and poured myself a cup of hot green tea. I was actually debating if i should order miso soup or drink the tea. they're both the same price but miso soup can only be drunk once, while green tea can be refilled. that's why i went with the green tea.

 

When my friends' food came, one of my friends asked if i wanted her miso soup becaus she doesn't like drinking it. so i just said okay. it's miso soup and if she doesn't drink it it'll go to waste!

 

EVERTHING WAS FREAKING NORMAL.

 

until..

 

the moment when the person sitting right opposite me across the sushi belt talked bad about me in Mandarin, thinking that,

1. i can't speak Mandarin,

2. i can't hear them..

 

seriously though.. it's funny but offending at the same time.. just because i was talking english the whole time, these two thought i couldn't understand mandarin? and really.. their volume.. it's not that loud but.. i'm right across you, i can hear you no matter how soft you are.. Funny because i can understand them. Offending because they talked about me like that.

 

"People have money that's why they don't eat the set meal. They take green tea and drink miso soup as well."

uhm. i'm sorry.. the soup isn't mine. and anyway, you don't even know anything who are you to talk about me that way? I feel freaking offended. Speaking in that tone to me.. urgh.

 

wow. i can't believe i just met that kind of person.... PEOPLE*.. there were two of them. guy and girl.

i need to study now but i can't get over it.. just really thanking God right now that i was able to hold my tongue and didn't ask them what their problem was.
