Alyssa always takes an optimistic view over a thing, be it whether she’s in a very bad situation or not. Therefore, no problems are too hard for her to solve. She displays a happy and relaxed self even when she’s sad. Having the optimistic side in her, she’s developed a calm personality. She never gets panicked no matter what situation she in is. Making her angry will not work on her either. She doesn’t speak at all mostly, but when there’s no one else but you two, she would be sweet to you. Another thing is that she is very meticulous in everything she does. She’ll practice and rehearse a lot; making sure nothing goes wrong, because failing a thing is never an option for her and never in her life philosophy. In that way, she’s passionate in everything she is working on.
Her thinking is a bit slow as she spaces out often, especially in academics. She is always absentminded and therefore people would get annoyed over whether or not she’s listening to them. It is clearly displayed on her face as she kept her straight, poker face on. Fans would think that an idol being straightforward is a good thing. But in Alyssa’s case, it’s bad. She says whatever she think is right to her, which results to even hurting someone’s feelings – in a very mean way, because her words are often harsh despite her optimistic thinking. She often wins over arguments due to this – in which she is also a representative from Singapore to the World Schools Debating Championships for 4 years now. When I say she doesn’t talk much, it’s not because she’s remaining her calm self or what not, but it’s because she doesn’t know what to talk about. Therefore, she prefers to be a listener or an observer more than to start talking. And hey, not every debater socialise well, okay?
PAST // Alyssa was born Chinese-Malay; her dad being a Chinese and her mom being a Malay. She is a pure, total Singaporean. She came from a decent, harmony family. Her dad owns a bakery in Tampines and her mom is a shoe designer. Her brother, Bradley, is a well-known hip hop dancer in Kallang. He started dancing when he was twelve, where Alyssa followed his footsteps when she turned thirteen. They went to the same dance studio as SKarf’s Tasha and Ferlyn, except that they went for breakdance. Bradley is in Korea now as an exchange student for a year. They are basically one form of a happy family. She is raised in a very lively surrounding and she’s never lonely as her brother is often by her side. Being the youngest in the family, she is cherished and receives infinite amount of love ever since she was born.
Alyssa was very bright, cheerful and talkative, until she was involved in a terrible car accident when she was eight and therefore had been hospitalised for half a year. As a result from the accident, a part of her brain wasn’t functioning well and she stopped talking (partially mute) for almost two years. Bradley tried his best to finally make her talk and on her tenth birthday, she opened for the first time. However, she’s became less talkative to others. Miracle happened in 2010, in which she was twelve. She started to open up with her family even more – except that she still couldn’t interact well with the others. Due to that, she decided to boost her confidence by entering her secondary school’s debate team when she turned thirteen. She discovered K-POP when she was fourteen, in which she was influenced by her friends.
PRESENT // Her schedule is often packed due to her school life and trainee life. She goes to school in the morning, goes for her sing/dance/rap training for 4 hours after her lunch, does her homework and study till dusk, and continues her training again till 9pm before she goes for her night academy for a two-hours period. She continues her training again after she's back from the academy till 2AM; and the routine is repeated again each day. Although she’s busy, she won’t forget to video call her parents and also hangout with her brother on weekends.

Alyssa feels comfortable around her dad. Her dad gives full support on whatever she does so that her self-esteem wouldn't be affected. He makes Alyssa feels safe no matter where she goes because he would always remind Alyssa that he never leaves her side as he lives in her heart (yes, her dad is cheesy. like, very cheesy).
Alyssa loves her mom so much. I mean like, she's a female and she's very easygoing to talk to. She taught Alyssa to not be afraid of anything and gives her full support on whatever she does, just like her father does.
Alyssa is very close to Bradley. Perhaps because he was the one who succeeded in making her talk to people. He is charming in his own ways, being the handsome and popular guy he looks like. She's always thought that if Bradley isn't her brother, she would've dated him already. He knows how to crack his sister up. Alyssa feels protected with him around.
OTHERS //
Next to Alyssa's love interest, her dad and her brother, Vernon is the one of those 'lucky' guys that succeeded making her interact with them guys. He is Alyssa's very first friend when she first arrived in Korea. He is very funny and often makes jokes to cheer Alyssa up when she's down. He's like the back-up of her love interest. He'll fill Alyssa's love interest's space up when he's busy so that Alyssa will remain happy and cheerful. He's so reliable. He's also Seunggwan's best friend.
Instead of having a strict dance trainer, Alyssa got a goofy one. Perhaps it's because he's just a few years older than her, and that the other dancers in JYP are all unavailable. They goof around JYP together when the dance class is canceled. They are called the 'pranking worms' by the JYP staffs and artists.
Jinhong. No one actually understands why he hates Alyssa so much. Might be because Alyssa beat him up in the recent debate championship between the art schools in Seoul. But he's been acting snobbish around her, picking fights everytime they encounter each other.
It's not that they hate each other, but it's just a friendly rivalry. She's never scared to go against Alyssa in dancing battles as both are also caustic.
STAGE NAME // Elysa
TRAINING YEARS // Alyssa was a half-active YouTube artist before she started auditioning for any agencies. She would cover mainly boy group choreographies, and choreograph a freestyle dance or do a freestyle rap (she starts to pursue vocal training after she joined Simtong). When Alpha Entertainment held a public audition in Singapore, she went to watch Tasha and Ferlyn – her dance seniors. She thought she should try out for an audition too after seeing Tasha and Ferlyn won before her eyes. However, due to her debate competitions, she had to postpone her dream. Finally in early 2013, she sent her audition clip through e-mail to Pledis, CUBE and JYP; and got selected to JYP. As of July 27th, 2014, she had trained in JYP for one year and seven months. The selection of trainees to be part of JYP's new girl group, 8sians, was done in July 31st of the same year. Alyssa wasn't selected and thereafter was transferred to Simtong Entertainment in the trainee-exchange program, in which as of July 1st, 2015, Alyssa has trained in Simtong for almost 11 months.
ON CAMERA // Alyssa is just the same on and off stage. It’s just that she gets a little friendlier with her fans. She is relatively charismatic on stage, especially when she's dancing; that is as she is known to be passionate in everything she does. She cares a lot about her image on stage because she knows she doesn’t just portray herself out there – but also her family’s image, her school’s and of course, her company and its artists too.

- She’s a fixed member of the female team for KBS Let’s Go! Dream Team Season II.
- She’s appeared for 3 episodes of the KBS Cool Kiz On The Block as a junior female Taekwondoist.

- She’s acted as a minor role in KBS’ drama ‘School 2013’ and is in line for a major role in the new remake of 'Who Are You: School 2015' entitled 'Hello'.

SUMMARY // Although they are just of the same age, he acts like a protective brother. He is always there when Alyssa needs someone by her side and when she’s in danger (like tripping over a stone or so). He’s also caring, lively, humorous, understanding and reliable. He acts a lot like Bradley that Alyssa could easily get along well with Seungkwan when they first met.
FIRST MEETING // Once, Alyssa had to accompany Vernon back to Pledis Entertainment as he left his homework there (they were both on their way to the night academy). Coincidentally, Seventeen's vocal unit were still around as they were recording the tracks for their debut album. Being the lively and friendly person he is, Seungkwan was the first person to approach Alyssa. He started bringing up random stuffs to keep the conversation going. Alyssa felt at ease at Seungkwan's talkative personality as it reminds her so much of Bradley. From that moment onwards, as she felt comfortable around Seungkwan, they became close to each other.
RELATIONSHIP // Seungkwan is protective around her and he understands Alyssa very well. He knows how to tackle her in the first place. Alyssa feels comfortable around him and so she opens up to him unlike how she acts to others. They treat each other like total siblings and they goof around with each other a lot. They got teased a lot and of course, everyone would be envious of them, especially Bradley. Seungkwan secretly likes her but never dared to confess. He'd like to date openly/publicly if given the chance.
CONCLUSION // I would love them to date like normal couples. Haha. Like typical Korean couples where they are all cutesy and sweet and romantic. But most of all, I think a ‘best friend’ kind of relationship would suit them best. Because in the end none of them would confess their true inner feelings towards each other. But both of them know that they are crushing on each other as their friends would dig every single secrets both of them hide (they have mutual friends so yea).
