About
hayoung is probably best described as the typical bubbly trainee you’d find in almost every k-pop agencies, except that she’d turn serious when it comes to practicing. this girl likes having fun, and pulling prank is her favourite game. as she grew up in pledis, having to be one of the longest-trained trainees, the agency is almost like her playground... or more to her home. she shone so much in the agency for her dancing skills, but it wasn’t for long until people started calling her as ‘ioi im nayoung’s sister’ instead of ‘im hayoung’ or her stage name ‘young’. it’s not that she disliked that her sister is finally debuting, but the fact that people knows her not for her talent, she felt dishonoured. maybe through the show, ‘pledis girls’, could help her regain her own name back.

style. hayoung’s first priority would be snapbacks. she really love snapbacks and can’t leave her house without wearing one. as feminine is totally out of her style, she is never a skirt enthusiast. only on certain occasions, like school or for performances, would she wear a skirt. her typical style would be of a jumper or a sweatshirt, matched with jeans or leggings (mainly long pants), but hardly matched with shorts. she's not a fan of high heels or wedges despite being short, and would go for sneakers for all sorts of occasions; unless it is a formal event where she'd wear a pair of decent front-closed flats. she usually goes for a style that is a little boyish, something that would go well with hip hop; but still gives a female-kind-of vibe. she dislikes wearing a lot of accessories at once. be warned: she is an all-time hba and boy london enthusiast. her closet consists of 90% black items and 10% others. denim is one of her favourite fabrics and plaids or stripes are something she'd go for too.
other. due to a lacking vision, she’d wear her spectacles at the dorm and during practice, and would only wear her contact lenses on stage. she prefers her hair untied at all times except going for practice. she dislikes wearing make-up as her skin is a little sensitive. a scar can be spotted on her left arm if you look closely; one that she calls a 'victory scar', which was gotten on the day she passed the audition to pledis. she got the scar from accidentally scratching her arm at the edge of a wall just a few minutes before she went in to the audition room. it was bleeding a little, but she had no time to wash it out anyway so she just went for her audition with that minor injury of hers.

(+) basically, hayoung is just the same on and off camera. she’s never scared to show people her true colours, and that’s probably the charm that enables her to be easily likeable. she is always happy and full of energy, something that can be seen easily on stage as she uses that speciality of hers to portray the songs through her emotions. she’s very approachable that people tend to get close to her in a short time. she can turn an awkward situation lively even by her presence alone. she’s always the first one to approach new faces, making her appointed as an outcast saver among pledis artists alongside seungkwan of seventeen. other than that, she is very optimistic and is always confident in what she does. she tends to expect the best in all possible ways, even if it seems almost impossible. when making a choice, she is often assured that her choice is the best quality; although it’s always the worse coming to worst. negativity is almost out of her dictionary. she’s free-spirited and doesn’t get sad easily. hayoung is well-known for her hard work, especially being one of the longest-trained female trainees in pledis. having to cope with studies, she has to balance out and organize her time systematically. she’s determined towards her goal; that is to make good music and to let people listen to it through a debut. every day, she would stay up till 3 to 4 in the morning to improve on her skills, after having to go for a night class at her school from 10pm to 12am. she often gets sick due to that as well and her nose would bleed on a daily basis due to lack of sleep.
(-) although she seems bright and cheerful all the time, she’d turn serious when it’s time for practice, especially a dance practice. she’d get too absorbed into the practice to even joke around with others. she doesn’t like it when other trainees fool around during practice because although to them it’s not a serious matter, to her, it is. she thinks that what they did will distract other trainees from focusing on the practice itself, so she’d often nag at them. due to this, other trainees often address her as the female jihoon (woozi of seventeen) for that their personalities are similar when it comes to training. hayoung is quite of a stubborn-headed; she is opinionated and only stick to her choice. only on rare occasions she’d want to change her mind and agree with others, but usually she doesn’t give in easily. when she says something, she'd always defend her opinion and often, one random question could turn into a heated debate because of this too. her all-time saying is “no buts- or butts!”, often aimed towards whoever going against her. despite being 18, hayoung is very childish to the fact that some thinks of her as a weirdo. she doesn’t really take people seriously, and sometimes not even with the ceo. she finds everything amusing and fascinating, even if it’s just a large plushie of donald duck. she’d be loud as hell if she’s happy, and no, you don’t want that to happen because trust me, it’s annoying. she is also quirky; likes to pull pranks on others. she even formed a prank squad alongside seungkwan and yebin to prank on everyone, especially on the ceo. they are always caught into trouble and would end up getting punished; but i guess that's the only way to find joy in the midst of a hard training, right? one more trait that represents hayoung is that she gets mad and flustered very easily. usually her anger won’t last long; it’s just that she gets mad easily. it’s rare to see her get mad for a long period, but it has happened before at the agency when someone had sabotaged her evaluation marks. if her anger is too bad, she’d be silent and turn from a bright hayoung to a gloomy one. one of those who could make her explode is mingyu of seventeen. they aren’t enemies though, they just fancy bickering with each other. seeing hayoung chasing him with woozi’s guitar had been a daily situation in pledis entertainment; and that is without woozi’s consent, of course.
background.
hayoung comes from a decent family originated from the city of seoul. her family consists of at least a father, a mother, and an older sister. due to the short of three years with her sister, they are really close to each other. both of her parents came from a dancing background, so hayoung and her sister, nayoung, have been in the dancing scene since they were little. dance competitions are almost like their playground, and the dance studio their parents own is their second home. in 2008 when hayoung was 10, she started to watch videos of rappers like dok2, verbal jint, and jessi under the influence of her friends; whom mainly come from the entertainment background. ever since, she slowly showed interest in rapping. after thinking really hard about it, she told her parents her desire to audition and thankfully they weren’t against it; given that she has been exposed to the industry quite early.
she decided to go for a newly established company at that time, namely ts entertainment; though later was rejected as she was said to be very young and not compatible for the respective agency. with her sister’s encouragement, she didn’t give up on her dream and as she waited for another audition opportunity, she got herself involved in writing short verses of rap that later turned into a number of complete lyrics of songs. she might be young, but the passion she held made her go on with it. from then onwards, she started to show interest in song-producing as well. on the following year, a pledis representative scouted her and her sister while they were out for a walk. the rep has stated that pledis was in search of trainees, and that the duo had the visuals they were looking for. wanting to focus on studies first as she was in her first of year middle school, nayoung told hayoung to go for the audition alone. hayoung went for it and eventually got in for her rap and dance. only 2 years later, nayoung finally decided to join her sister through the training journey in pledis.

im nayoung (ladyteen/ioi): bow down to the next generation of the jung sisters – except that this time, it’s the im sisters’ time to shine. honestly, they are nothing compared to the jungs, especially when only nayoung is nicknamed as the ice princess and not hayoung... we all know hayoung doesn’t make the definition of an ice princess at all. nayoung is emotionless, they said, but hayoung knows it is way too far from the truth. nayoung could be at her dorkiest whenever she wants to, except that people would think she’s serious all the time because of her facial expression. even when she laughs, it looks like she’s not. these two tend to tell everything to each other, and each would hold the other’s deep secrets none would ever know of. nayoung can be blank at times so hayoung would constantly have to snap her out of her mind. despite being the younger one, hayoung is overprotective of nayoung and would always worry about her even when she didn’t need to.
kang yebin (ladyteen): they said if someone’s personality is almost similar as yours, he/she is your other half. the thing is, yebin and hayoung are very similar to each other; from personality, to likes and dislikes, and even to talent. they share the same blood type and even height, so whenever they’re together, others often can’t differentiate them from the back. the only thing that differentiates them would most probably only be their age and their looks. although yebin joined pledis a little later than hayoung did, their s with other trainees (now former) were a little big and since they are of the same age, they became close to each other. both of them majored in rap and dance so they would always be together while training and would monitor each other’s performances in order to point out what is there to improve or fix on. they’re both known among pledis artists to excel in power dance, as well as being a part of pledis’ unofficial prank squad (alongside seungkwan). they take care of each other as if they're sisters.
jeon chaewon1stshipper (pledis girls): chaewon and hayoung have been roommates ever since team a happened. these two have almost the same personalities, but they aren't as close as hayoung is with yebin. chaewon is always bright during practices even if the practice ends at midnight, and hayoung envies chaewon for that. hayoung would always turn serious when training starts, so she can never understand how chaewon always manage to put on a smile despite the midnight practice. they are each other's manito; in which a person takes care of the other person in secret. often when yebin and seungkwan have a schedule, hayoung would hang out with chaewon's clique.
boo seungkwan (seventeen): seungkwan and hayoung are best friends, probably not any more closer than hayoung is with yebin, but at least he’s the closest male friend she has. he had been there for her since forever. the trio were always together especially before seventeen had their debut, and seungkwan would cover up for yebin if she’s not there for hayoung. they would joke around and tease each other a lot without having either one getting hurt of what the other said. they’re totally inseparable, and some even thought they’re hitting it off. seungkwan thinks hayoung doesn’t have any feelings for him more than a friend, but he couldn’t help himself for falling for her. he had never wanted to confess to her because of that, and neither does he want her to know that he likes her. hayoung had always thought of him as a brother and not more than that, so expecting him to like her might be a little far from her imagination. only the members of seventeen alongside yebin acknowledge seungkwan’s feelings towards hayoung and all have promised to not spill the beans; so this duo dating would most probably be very impossible... unless hayoung herself admits to him that deep inside her heart, she likes him too. (i have my personal reason as to why i didn’t put him in the love interest section and i hope you don’t mind. however if you feel like making him my character's love interest, do say so hehe~)

in 2016, pledis announced that they will be doing a survival show for their next girl group after ladyteen/pledis girlz. every female trainees were beyond excited upon the news, but for hayoung, she was extremely nervous. this is her chance, she thought. when she went for the audition, it was claimed by the judges that her vocal isn’t up to their expectation coming from one of the longest-trained trainees, though her rap did make it up. her rap has yet to be polished a little more but it was good, uee commented, for her evaluation. woozi backed her up for her dance, given that she really shines when she lets her body expressing the song. hayoung started as one of the low-ranked trainees in the show, but later rose up as she strived to improve her skills (relatable scene: choi yoojung going up from team d to team a). though, this is just as to how i portray her, hehe. the results may vary according to the votes later on~. her performances include:
