Lately, i keep coming across tips. Everywhere I turn to. /not just in aff but like almost everywhere i go to? but yeah in aff too lol/
I think in less than a week i've seen like uh, 10? (i can shut up if i just saw one...but like 10? no...that calls for my annoying mind to speak)
Well, honestly, i don't believe in all these tips.
Because every tips tell you what n how you should do.
The biggest problem i see is that each tip is trying to take away your identity n shape you into a certain shape that probably isn't even you.
Especially for naive people who wide-eyed /blinkblink/ religiously takes in all those tips wholeheartedly as if they're facts. /they're not/
And feel down when they don't fit in the 'requirements'
/errr................./
What's the legitimacy of all these tips givers?
of course... it's your own choice to believe or not. shouldn't just blame 'em. they're probly just trying to help...in a way i find strange.
I just find it creepy when people get so affected by these thingy.
Even when i was a student, if a lecturer tells me "this is the right way, yours is wrong..." in subjects not pertaining to facts...like writing n literature...
...I wouldn't be so quick to believe. To me they're just restrained. haa. (though of course when it concerns works n exams where they give marks to you, you have to appease to their limited appreciation n write what they want to see even if you find it lame...for the marks yknow...lol)
For all you know they who give tips might not even be any more creative than you...or able to give accurate definition of quality(is there even any non-biased definition of quality when it comes to producing original work?)
Yes, even if they're lecturers or somebody biggg n famous or whatnot...it doesn't make them more creative than peasants like u and i. duh.
Are you going to listen to your heart and mind, or to whoever that might actually kill your confidence to be yourself because 'that's not how you should do it'?
Who cares what they wanna say.
Anyone can say anything.
You can follow all those tips and be just another inferior clone of the tips givers. /lol, yes, clone./
Or you can just be yourself.
Not anyone great but ultimately 1st grade original and not 2nd grade clone of anyone.
Honestly, i don't believe in all these 'formula' shiets.
How can creativity be bounded by dos and don'ts?
In my book(not literally duh), there's no 'guideline' to creativity.
Creativity comes from within, naturally, unforced. It's not formulaic.

Sometimes even the most average kinda setting/character/plot can come with more creativity than some grandeur ones... how...well it's all up to your personal touch really...not the guidelines you follow...

Forcing a certain pattern of creativity to build a certain image only make you into... clones. well, for me, that is.
But you see, you don't even have to believe in what i believe.
I offer perspectives, not tips or facts /cringes/.
;)
I don't intend to make people say 'i agree with you'...i kinda hate that, in fact... unless you can give me reasons you agree with me.
I intend to make you think, and re-evaluate things on your own. Using my unpopular perspective just as prompt.
First step to be able to appreciate creativity as it is, is uhh...not judge creativity by paper qualification/popularity/any superficial grounds? heck, creativity can't be measured by any set standard. Hey, but that's not a tip. No, i don't give tips for this thingy.
Ladies n gentlemen, according to me, there are no tips for creativity in writing.
Guidelines kill creativity.
Sorry for wasting your time.
But I hope you gained something to think of.

maybe a little increase in self-confidence? (though i can't say mine is any better...lol.)

Example: when you think of fantasy genre...you might think of creatures like uhh...elves, dwarves, magician, dragons, some weird kingdoms, wizards n witches, harry potter, etc. bcuz that's what happens in many fantasy genre stories i've seen, but to me, fantasy is boundless, anything you think....giant sized food. walking walls, talking food, or even,...normal human acting unlike themselves, or illogical things happening in a perfectly logical world or logical things happening in unlogical world, crossing/mixing people from different stories/genres/background into one mashup story, even overly perfect romance can be a fantasy as long as it's something you fantasize... anything...fantasy is anything you fantasize-that would be my definition. But this genre is heavily stereotyped n confined...and that's one reason i usually dislike it with quite a passion/yes, i don't like harry potter, problem?

i feel that the 'fantasy' genre as dubbed now...is ruining my view of fantasy.
of course, i do write those stuffs sometimes...but i don't call it fantasy cuz i...i told you, i kinda hate the idea of confining it as a 'fantasy' genre/...now let's not get me to start complaining about other genres...cuz i'm tempted to talk/complaint about horror...but that used to be kind of my fav before more understated realistic life genres took over my feels...so...yeah...lalala....

Oh and to tips givers/not all but those who use general term like readers/everyone/people when expressing individual opinions/...please stop referring your own opinions as 'readers/everyone's' opinions'...because i, as a reader don't give anyone my permission to lump me into a pile of generalization. I believe every reader has different preference and it is an insult to assume everyone of us has the same opinion as you by refering to one person's own opinion as 'readers' opinion'. Because I don't even agree with some of those 'readers' opinion when i am gasp...a reader! isn't it ironicly n dramatically contradicting that i should disagree with my own opinion? So please correct the word/term usage there. Learn to be more secure and use 'MY opinion' instead of 'EVERYONE's opinion' when you haven't even gone to interview and take survey from each and every one. It could get you sued you know?  Thanks~

and if you're unsatisfied n still want tips...lol.
Take a deep breath, stop thinking about wanting to be creative and different and unique and special and great or whatevertheheck, and start writing what you want to write.
Then, you'd probably be more creative than you ever are. Maybe. no promise. I have no experience in trying to be creative. I never think 'how to be creative n different' when writing. i feel that that thought would only turn my work lamer than it could ever be. They're already lame enough...but i think i'll find those who are honest to their own writing as cool. that's all.

my tip would be, stop worshipping random people you don't even know that well...well, worship no humans i'd say rather...bcuz no one is flawless...but that's going in too deep rite? Different people have different styles. respect your own style.

...and start having some self-respect n faith for your own originality, creativity, quality, writing, identity, ideas, and self, cuz you deserve at least that much respect.

Now give a great clap to yourselves.

actually...i do think tip #1 that allok not all but the ones i came across...yushhh i just generalized...yikes... these tipgivers never dare to admit 'to gain more attention for your fics' is...uhh...write exo/any other groups with major fandom...yeap. slap me for pointing out the obvious.

/sorry if some of you hate it that i keep doing this kinda posts...i kinda like it....i kinda like it more than writing fics now..../runs/okay, maybe with some exceptions...

/if you hate whatever i wrote...just zip mouth n leave k/thanks~ i just feel there are too much judging n things that make inferior people like me who never fits in generic standard of 'goooooood' feel down. if there can be opinions to make you feel like a loser, why can't there be the ones to counter n make you feel like  a winner, rite? you don't have to agree with me. but you can think the logics n rationale of my points n evaluate on your own/

/as i said, i love underdogs or those who feel like underdogs/inferior/etc...bcuz we're kinda same type?...so please allow me to use my blogspace to make you feel good about yourselves...cuz you deserve it/ besides, it's a way i give back to those who have made me happy...so thank you <3

Now that you went through the hardwork reading all of these for nothing...let me treat you to some humble juice and cakes as my thank you...<3 /bows/

Lol i remember last year for akhir tahun exam, one of the questions on the Literature paper was "Write a critical analysis on this character" and i wrote what i purely thought of the character, only to get 0 with comment "Have you not been paying attention in my class ?" I did in fact. Its just that what i wrote was purely my analysis, my opinion on the character. Lol ended up failing Literature that time. Now, i try to follow my teacher's analysis (cuz i cant afford to fail another subject) even if i think differently. Ooh, as for creativity, my English (different one. Not Literature) teacher said, "If you write from your heart, nothing can go wrong" Awww. And why always carrot cakes ? No red velvet or cheesecakes ? :(

LOL at that carrot juice and cake! you make me hungry :L but, I do agree with you and about the tips part, you know using a famous artist XD seems like it was written to me :3 ha! cuz i was once had been question about famous characters as their main. At first, I was like..... Are you really asking me that? Tapi, dah ada soalan kan so kita jawab jelah XD Cumanya..... I dont really like the fact that most of the featured story here are mostly exo T^T sebab apa? Sebab dorang tu trending sekarang. -.- Honestly, ada yang guna exo semata2 mahukan subbies and popularity. Oh kamon, apa guna kau menulis kalau kau nak femes semata-mata? Ada yang tak minat langsung kot artist femes tapi still gunakan artis tu semata-mata nak popular. o.o tak rasa macam menyedihkan kah? Okay sejujurnya saya pun ada guna tapi sebab memang stan the members // i stan bap the most sebab lagu dia deep// tapi suka that specific member semata-mata. bukan all. but..... most reader //malay readers// kebanyakannya budak2 so yeah, mereka lebih utamakan ultimate bias lebih dari writing style. T^T
and last but not least!!!! nak copy boleeeehhhhhh?? :3

and I once went to read tips about writing fanfics too there was one i saw "write about exo, people like that so ur story would be read" and i quickly closed the site >.> if anyone started with a tip like that then they r diffiently not a pro :l

but then i went to find sites that gives tips for normal novels and such -- and it was too complicated and i got lazy to continue it so i ignored it XD /i'm lazy to even understand.. ur twinnie is awsum right? :"D/

in the end i just wanted to write so i wrote in the way i feel most comfortable i guess? tho my problem was... i didn't know how to get my story the same way out of my brain to my writing... i still don't know how but-- who cares i wanna write and thats that >.> by time it will be creative just dosn't need to be now right? :D

tho this post is truly amazing <3 i hope it help a lot of people out there and help them maintain their uniqueness *-* ur a truly unique author twinnie <3 i'm glad i meet u :D huhuhuhu~~
