New Feature! Chapter Statistics for Authors

Authors are naturally curious about how their stories are received by their readers. Which chapters did well? Did reader interest wane after posting a particular chapter? How is my story doing over time? Those are the sorts of questions we'd like to help you answer.

Asianfanfics is proud to announce chapter statistics as a way to help authors gauge the effectiveness of their writing over time. Here's how to access the new statistics feature:

To view the total unique view counts for all of your chapters at once, click on the statistics button at the bottom of your story's foreword (lower right corner).

There you'll find a bar graph detailing the view counts for each of that story's chapter.

Hovering over each bar will show you the chapter number and the number of views it received. In this case, the cursor is hovering over chapter 11 and it received 377 views.

You can also dig into each chapter and find out how it has been doing over the past five days. For this example, I would go to Chapter 11's view page, then click on the Chapter Statistics button in the lower right corner.

Here you'll find a line graph of that chapter's view counts over the last five days.

This particular chapter happens to only have two dates at 2013-11-28 and 2013-11-27 but as the days go by, it will contain more data points to fill the full five day spread. Hovering over each point will let you know the date and the number of views that chapter received for that date. The left side of the graph is the past and the right side is the present.

We here at Asianfanfics hope this helps our authors evaluate their writing and publishing skills more objectively and will undoubtedly provide you better insight into what techniques and styles are most effective for you.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
