Compared to when we first started, we have enough stories now and enough voters to have a constant flow of good featured stories coming through. Starting today, we'll now feature a story every day and the front page will show the last three most recently featured. This way, many more authors should have the chance to get featured.

I've also recently (as in today) heard of problems with a particular user's featured story losing their star. What happened was that the story was originally an M story and the author switched it to a regular story and it got re-featured as a regular featured story. The system automatically cleans these but ended up removing the star from the story.

Now with things like these, I would certainly have been happy to help but what the author ended up doing was that she rallied her followers instead to say a lot of bad things about us until we "fixed our ". That really puts us in a difficult position. As much as I would've liked to help, if we help now, it would look like we cave to these sorts of immature tactics. That would set a bad precedent for us in the future. Not only that, we've received other reports that the author unmarked it as rated so that their story could be featured twice further making it more difficult for us to offer help due to the suspect nature of the circumstances. I've made adjustments to the featured system so things like that wouldn't happen again but we won't reward that kind of behavior.

Edit: Seems there was a glitch with a few months missing from the featured stories list. That's fixed now.

Also, it seems that there aren't enough rated stories to actually fill a featured rated every day so that will stay at once a week.
