Writer's Block

First off, let me start by saying that this is my first blog post on this site *cheers*.

But seriously. Writer's block is killer. You all know the feeling, right?

Your brain has come up with this amazing story with an incredible story line, main character, conflict, potential plot twists, etc. You write a few chapters and BOOM your brain dies. Just like that. It just stops working when you really need it. You just stare at your screen, trying to make your fingers type words...and you get nothing.

That happens to me a lot. But I combat that in a weird way.

I start a new story (or a oneshot). I don't know how many of you guys do that, but that's what I do mostly (it takes a lot of self control to not start a new story EVERY time that happens). I'll say that about four or five of my stories (and one that hasn't been posted yet because I put it under draft status) came as a result of writer's block. Is that bad?

Don't get me wrong. I plan to finish every story I start, no doubt about that. I should start finding a new mechanism for battling writer's block. For real. I've already come up with ideas for three more stories and I'm like *facepalm* I'm ridiculous.

So how do all of you deal with writer's block?

This happens to me a lot. I'm currently working on a new fanfic, but as of right now the words just aren't coming out right when I type it =.= It's like, ideas sound so good and awesome in your head but when you write it out I'm usually not pleased with it and thus have to restart it ^^;

I knit, lol. though honestly I haven't experience writters block per se but I do go through phases of motivationlessness, hehe. I can have plenty ideas for the story I'm working on but absolutely no desire to write them down. When I feel like that I completely ignore my story and crochet or sew or knit until I crave my writing again.

Though I don't think I'd ever be likely to try cure writters block by writing, hehe.
