  • Sweetie - only something that Key and Nana call her by; she calls them the same also, it started off as endearment but quickly became a pet name... an annoying one

Birthday&Age: May 13, 1991 & 22
Birthplace: East Lansing, Michigan, USA
Hometown: Seoul, South Korea
Ethnicity and Nationality: Korean & Korean-American
Height: 169cm
Weight: 50kg

Languages: English (native); Korean (fluent); Japanese (conversational/learned as a trainee)

Personality:
By first glance, Alex seems like one of those quiet and reserved types of girls just by looking at her face - one of those girls who will just step out of your way if you want to pass through without question. Maybe someone you can manipluate to do your own bidding if you pleased to do so. I guess you could to an extent, but I'm sad to say you'll be very dissappointed with the outcome. Why? Well, Alex is naive to put it simply. And even if you tried to manipluate her, you would get so fed up with her asking you so many questions about why she should be doing this and what she gets in return, that you'd just give up right there on the spot. I suppose that isn't a bad quality because it defiently keeps aways unwanted people away, but other people just get annoyed with it.

Once you get past her exterior and get to know her a bit better, you realize that she's a very sincere person. Alex is very true to herself and to what she's feeling and never fails to speak her mind. She doesn't lie to make people feel better, she tells the cold hard truth whenever people want to hear it or not. Some people like this about her, other people do not. Alex is very true to what she believes in and will speak it if the situation calls for it. She's someone that people can get along with very easily, if they actually bother to get know her at least. Alex kind of flows with everyone and likes to make sure that people are comfortable. Her parents claim she harmonious in this aspect, she likes to keep the peace and never stands out too much with anything she does. It's nice to say the very least and the people who do get to know her, like this about her. But then here comes the aspect that leaves many people concerned about her well being - her naivety.

Alex spent most of her life so asorbed into music, the real world kind of crumbled to her feet and her parents in the very least supported it. She doesn't understand people very well because of it - she doesn't understand divorce, parent loosing their job, why people get abortions (she's not against it, just doesn't understand), why people get drunk, why people do drugs, etc. But most importantly she doesn't understand love. She'll never understand any of the romance that happens in dramas, movies, TV shows, stories and books. When people ask her about her thoughts on love, she always said she doesn't believe in it in order to cover up her lack of knowledge about it. It leaves many people confused and wondering if she'll ever get married someday... And if she does, the guy would have to be a real fool. Because not many guys like this quality in a female, especially one who can't give up music to be with someone. It's insane. This leaves many people concerned about her and wonder what would happen if music was no longer in her life, but they're too afraid to find out. If music is what keeps her from not breaking from her naivety then so be it.

On stage, Alex drops all naivety about the world and throws her questions away. She becomes a different person, a person that many people find attractive in the way in how she never gives up. Alex becomes this confident person that people admire. Constantly smiling with sincerity and being in harmony with her fellow members is how she gained the persona, Harmonious Sincerity.

On camera, the naivety comes back and so does her questions. She can be seen constantly asking questions and it's a very nice funny affect that it leaves many people laughing. Sometimes people do get fed up with it and will kindly asked her to stop and she will do so. When it comes down to truly listen, she'll listen and pay attention. But that doesn't mean she'll understand, even though it may seem she does. Once the listening is over and it's time for her to speak, she'll began asking questions again, bring the funny affect once again.

When she's with fans, Alex just gives them a friendly smiles and asks about their day and if they plan to do anything else later. Depending on their looks, she'll ask if they're a student and if so, what are they studying if they're in college or something. She just wants fans to be comfortable around her and understand that she's a real person to despite being an idol and that they shouldn't feel that she or any other idol is much different they are.

Around others she doesn't know well, Alex tries to remain friendly and get to know the person... Maybe even spark up some small talk that could turn into a full blown conversation. But if the person isn't giving her any kind of response, she won't turn away. She'll keep trying to get something out of the person using many different tatics for making a joke or complimenting them, but if there still isn't any reponse... Alex can take a hint and will turn her attention somewhere else. If she knows she'll be seeing that person again, she'll try again in hope of finally getting something out of them. Until they tell her to leave them alone, she won't leave them alone.

Likes:

  • Music
  • Classical composers (Beethoven, Mozart, Bach etc)
  • Girls' Generation/SNSD
  • Gummy bears (except the blue ones. never the blue ones. according to her, they taste nasty)
  • Vegatables and fruits (and it's not because of her parents either... she just loves them. she loves all of them and is willing to try new ones. except cherries. she's allergic.)
  • The smell of paper when ink has been printed on it (something about it is soothing to her... maybe all the memories of finally finishing a project and printing it out and knowing that's done? who knows?)
  • Her iPod (no, touch it and you die. her iPod is her life, music is her life, it's her lifeline. take it away... and goodbye Alex)
  • Rubber bands (she's likes playing with them and wearing them on her wrist. because of all those years playing the piano, she constantly feels like she should be moving her hands and a rubber band is the best solution. she keeps a stash in a shoe box underneath her bed.)
  • Anything that has to do with cinnamon (she loves the taste and smell of it. it kind of reminds her of home in the way where it makes her feel at home. cinnamon just gives her a very homey feeling.)
  • Beads (she loves them because there are people in the world who hand craft and design beads and to her it's just fascinating and beautiful.)

Dislikes:

  • Dubstep (she loves music... but she considers dubstep a disgrace. it shouldn't be called music.)
  • Meat (she doesn't like meat. end of story. she might as well become a vegitartian, but she hasn't stated so yet or though about it. she'll eat it, but hesitate)
  • Coffee (too bitter for her. even when sugar and cream is added.)
  • Her cell phone (she's a love-hate relationship with it. or I should say its, as in plural. she can't even began to count how many cell phones she's had since she was 15, it's insane. sometimes she cares for it and sometimes she doesn't.)
  • Lotion (because she playing piano growing up, her fingers would often slip off the keys when she played after applying lotion. piano keys are already pretty slick to begin with and lotion just makes it worse. even though she doesn't piano as much as she used too, old habits die hard.)
  • Pencils (pencil lead breaks way too easily and she hates it. it makes her frustrated when she's writing using a pencil and the lead breaks randomly. talk about annoying.)
  • Chewing gum (she had this one teacher back in Michigan during high school that would constantly chew gum in class and smack it. everytime she asked the teacher for help, she would get spittle in her face due to her teacher chewing.)
  • Staples (once, she tried stapling a report for class. no staple came out. when she looked at it and was try to check if there was any staples in it, she somehow got in a staple in her finger. it's hurt as much as you would imagine. since then, she has boycotted staples and staplers all together. paper clips forever <3)
  • Romeo & Juliet (a classic loved by many except her. she doesn't understand it to put it simply. not anything about it. it just doesn't make sense to her and leaves her confused)
  • Blue colored gummy bears and cherries ( 1. blue gummy bears taste nasty, 2. she's allergic)

Hobbies:

  • Playing piano
  • Writing music scores for the piano (though, she's not the best but she likes to think she's decent.)
  • Maked beaded jewelry (when she finds the time too in the very least.)

Habits:

  • Tapping her fingers on any hard surface when she's anxious or nervous about something
  • Braiding her hair when she's bored
  • Smiling brightly when music is brought up or anything related to it
  • Grunting in displeasure when anything related to Romeo & Juliet, love or romance is mentioned
  • Speaking English when she forgets what to say (sometimes she just does it to confuse people or because she forgets what country she's in sometimes)

Trivia:

  • Her dream school was Juilliard when she was growing up. But at the time when she looking into music colleges or colleges with good music programs, she was in fact asked to go back to states for a formal audition into Juilliard. She ended up not taking the opportunity to go Juilliard and stayed in Seoul and ended up attending Seoul Insititute of the Arts while continuing to be a trainee at Pledis Entertainment.
  • When she lived in Michigan, she had won several different piano playing competitions that ranged from regional to national. When she did make it to national, she didn't win. She ended up getting tenth place in the entire competition.
  • She's very allergic to cherries... Yes, cherries. Her parents found this out by accident when feeding a cherry poptart when she was little and she broke out in hives.
  • Alex doesn't believe in love to put it simply, nor does she care for it. Her parents always ask her why she doesn't and where they went wrong in their lives, but she tells them it's not them. She doesn't believe in love for herself is what she tells them, but in reality she just doesn't understand it. Alex never understood Romeo & Juliet in high school. No matter how much it was explained to her, she didn't get it. After the project that was assigned with the reading was over, she dropped it in the garbadge. (More explained in personality and background)
  • Alex is a huge fan of Girls' Generation. She was only 16 when they debuted and recently moved to Korea with her parents. They were her greatest inspiration for becoming an idol and why she decided to audition at Pledis when she was 17 in 2008.
  • She loves college football. She is after all growing up in a state that is very loyal to the University of Michigan's Wolverines, who knows. Due to the rivarly between Ohio State's Buckeyes and the Wolverines, she does detest the Buckeyes.
  • Remember when I mentioned her dislike towards her cell phone? As a joke when Nana was over to visit, her parents pulled out a box that contained all the phones she's broken. Looks like they kept them I guess, figuring she would break more. They counted them and to their shock their was about ten phones in the box. That was when she was 18, she's broken six more since then.
  • She can cook... sometimes. I don't know. Some days she can, some days she can't. It's not a matter of mood or anything, more like her cooking skills are bipolar and decides when they wanna be good or bad... If that makes any sense?
  • When she's frustrated, she usually ends up going to her parents music school and plays the piano to calm her mind.
  • Her parents music school is called "Never Stoppping the Music," or simply "N.S.P Music School" for short.
  • She's like a walking factoid when it comes to music. Usually when no one knows the answer pertaining to anything about music, somehow she knows it. It's beyond me.

Style: Her closet consists of her own personal clothing that she had from when she lived in America to clothes she got when she moved to Korea. Quite a few items in her closet are things she often "borrows" from Nana and by borrow, she asks if she can borrow it but never gives it back unless she's asked. Alex isn't someone to wear flashy clothes that will bring constant attention to herself or wear bright neon colors. She usually settles for neutral and soft colors that are pleasing to the eye. She loves dresses and skirts and will often wear them whenever she gets the chance but she can be forced into wearing pants or shorts. For tops, she usually settles on simple blouses and shirts that range from longsleeves to short sleeves. She isn't exactly the biggest fan on tank tops either. For footwear, she loves flats and sandals and will rarely ever wear sneakers or heels. She says that sneakers are for practice and heels are for formal wear. For practice, she mainly wears sweatpants that she rolled up to her knees and a random t-shirt that she found in her closet (that she may have "borrow" from Nana). Sometimes she wears shorts. As for just walking around the dorm or spending the day there, she usually wears a baggy sweater and shorts. Same goes for bed time. For formal wear, she doesn't like wearing really long dresses or really short dresses. She settles on wearing dresses just fall right below or at the knee area, sometimes maybe even a little shorter. The dress will typically be very simple in design and it's the only time she'll ever wear heels. The dress can also be strapless or have straps, doesn't matter to her because it's for a special occasion. Alex also isn't one for wearing jewelry and mainly only wear earrings, the same goes with hats - she doesn't wear hats often but will if she's being forced into it.
Casual: one two three
Formal:
one two three
Practice: one(minus the hat and phone) two three
Sleep/Dorm: one two three
Extra: Ear piercings - She has the main lobe piercing in both, but has the two little ones only in her right ear.

Relationships

Family:

Mother:
Min Dahee | 47 | Vocal instructor at their own music school | Loving, caring, protective, sweet, and an excellent teacher | Dahee constantly wants to protect her daughter and just drown her in love and keep her hidden away from the rest of the world. Children can get jaded very early in age and she didn't want the same for her daughter. Alex is unaware of her mom constantly trying to protect and keeping her away from things that normal children would do - climb trees, playing sports, joining after school clubs, going to parties or even just dating. Dahee and Alex have a very comfortable relationship due to their love of music and they often discuss music along with her father. They very rarely discuss other things besides music and when other subjects do come up such as being an idol and a trainee, her parents quickly change the subject. (more explained in the background)
Father:
Christian "Chris" Seo | 47 | Piano teacher at their own music school | Loving, caring, protective, humorous, and an excellent teacher as well | He is protective of Alex, but never did he ever think that him and his wife's constant protection could lead to her being naive about the world. There was a time that Chris tried to explain the world to her and understanding people, but Alex just couldn't seem understand. He ended up giving up and letting it go. He jokes with his daughter and they often talk about music, but everytime Alex brings up being a trainee and/or an idol, he instantly changes the subject.
Sibling(s):

Background:
Alex was born to two full Korean parents - one who was born and raised in the states and other who had lived her entire life in Korea basically - in East Lansing, Michigan. Her parents often showered in love and affection. When she was young and couldn't actually attend school yet, she would often go with her parents when they went to work. They both worked at the music program for Michigan State - her father as a piano teacher and her mother a vocal instructor. Everytime she went with them, she was always fascinated by the all the instruments and listening to people sing, wondering how they were able to make such beautiful noise. She decided that she wanted to be able to make such beautiful noise as well, and she told her parents that right then and there when she decided. Her parents were more than pleased to help her learn how to make such beautiful "noise." So, from a young age Alex began learning how to sing and learning how to play the piano from her mother and father.

Throughout most of elementary, middle school, junior high and even high school, she was so drowned in music that it was impossible to get out of it. Music became her life and more than anything did she want to be a singer. Unlike normal kids her age, she never really played any sports or even really had a chance to date. Yeah, sure, she had her fair share of boyfriends but every single one of those relationships were fleeting and didn't last very long because they both decided it wouldn't work out. Either that, or the boyfriend felt he couldn't compete with her love of music, so he gave up. Alex was never too affected by it, but during high school they were reading Romeo & Juliet. And Alex just couldn't seem to find the appeal in why all of the girls in her class found the story so romantic. She knew that she would never kill herself over something as so trivial as believing the person she loved was dead. When she did ask her parents about it, they became choked up about it and simply told her that she shouldn't worry about such things as love. She had music, and that's all she really needed. Because she was involved in music, she never really had the time to do what other people her age did. And because she never experienced any of those things, she became naive. Alex never could understand her friends when they were heartbroken over a guy or when a friend was complaining about having a hangover after going to party that served alcohol, or even say when a friend was upset over their parents getting a divorce... I guess you could say that she was involved with music that the real world began to slip away from her slowly... And her parents supported it with smiles on their faces.

In school, she was an average student. She got average grades that were mainly Bs, she got As when she worked her off and got Cs when she could care less about the subject. Alex did do exceptionally well in her music classes to the point that her teachers always praised her and complimented her.

While still living in the states, Alex participated in several different piano competitions. She went from regionals to nationals, she made it in the top three from regionals onwards but sadly she only got tenth place when she reached nationals every single time. It was disappointing to say the least, but Alex only continued on playing the piano in hope that one day she would be in the top three for nationals some day, but that hope was shortly lived when she was 16. Her parents announced some news that could change the pace of her life, most likely forever;

They were moving to Seoul.

Her parents decided on moving back to her mom's hometown because they wanted to open their own music practice there, or as they put it, school. A school in which the two could run themselves and teach people singing and playing the piano together. Alex was of course shocked, but if it was for music, she knew it was for the greater good.

Alex was nervous and afraid when she first arrived in Seoul with her parents. She knew Korean well enough at the time due to the fact that her parents have both bothered to teach her some Korean in between piano lessons, singing lessons and school work. Maybe she was nervous and afraid because even though she was Korean, she knew nothing about Korean society, culture and so on. But her love for music never faded, especially when Girls' Generation debuted with "Into The New World" in July of 2007. Alex fell in love with the song, the dance, the outfits, the concepts and she just loved everything about it. She quickly learned that Girls' Generation was apart of something called "kpop" and were called "idols." Alex didn't understand it too well at the time, but she knew that she wanted to be an "idol." If it meant she could be a singer, then it was worth it.

In 2008, her parents music school was set up and fully running with a good number of students on the roster. She approached her parents about becoming an idol and they were completely against it. Alex was shocked by her parents and her mom reassured her that there was nothing wrong with being an idol, but that it was hard to become one. The road isn't easy is what her mom told her and that many people have suffered on the path with blood, sweat and tears and that there was more going on behind those smiling faces that she sees on the TV. It was as if her mom was trying to shake her from her choice, but it didn't work. Alex was determined and wasn't going to hear anything otherwise. Her parents gave in and said that she could do whatever she wanted with her life, they would support her they best they could but they don't approve.

And Alex was just fine with that.

She ended up auditioning for Pledis and got in. And her mom was right about it being hard, but she didn't give up. Still in 2008, she soon met her best friend, Im Jinah soon to be better known as After School's Nana. Alex spent most of her first year as trainee with Nana and doing school work and still finding time to play the piano was tiring... And she was honestly exhausted after every dance class and lesson. Her parents were concerned and told her to stop, but she didn't. It's what she wanted.

After graduating high school, she had to choose a college she wanted to attend. There were many choices in Seoul, but back when she lived in the states her dream school was Juilliard. But the dream was quickly fading due to her not wanting to the country and still wanting to become an idol. Her parents applied for her without her knowing, and boy... She was pretty surprised when Juilliard sent a letter in the mail asking for a callback for a live audition. Alex rejected it though much to her parents disappointment and decided on the same school that Nana was going to attend - Seoul Insitiute of the Arts.

Friends:
Kim Kibum "Key" | 21 (same age) | Idol - SHINee | Key is someone who is very openminded about things and speaks his mind. Some people find his personality a bit too much with how freely he expresses himself, but he doesn't show too much concern about it. Despite that, he's a very loyal person to his family and friends. Overall, he's a nice person to be around and a good friend. | Key and Alex were introduced by Nana, who thought they would get along well due to that fact that Key and Alex are similar in the aspect that they both like to speak their mind. The two don't ever really try to hide anything and are completely honest with one another. Key has often told Alex that she's naive but she believes that he's just messing around with her, considering she refers to him as a diva. Key has shown great concern over how naive she can be and has tried explaining it to her, but he has a hard time though because Alex just won't seem to listen. They're good friends though and are alot closer than she and Sunhwa are. They poke fun at one another and afterwards pretend to be angry with one another, but in the end they laugh. The two often call one another and talk about what they're doing later, how they've been and so on. Overall, just very casual friends.

Han Sunhwa | 22 | Idol - Secret | Sunhwa is a very nice and cheerful person and is very open and friendly to anyone she meets. She's not someone who gets angry or upset very easily, but when she does you know that something is wrong. Overall, Sunhwa is a very nice person that many people like. | Sunhwa and Alex aren't that close to put it simply. Yes, they're under the same company and they do get along very well together but that's about it. They're close enough to not be just considered just acquaintances but they're not close enough to be considered very good friends. In the end, they like to tease one another lightheartly and talk about what they're doing in their free time and how Sunhwa's idol life is going and how Alex is doing as a trainee, soon to be idol I suppose. Overall, they're just casual friends that show support for one another but not the type of friends to go out of their way for one another.

Best friend:
Im Jinah "Nana" | 21 (same age) | Idol - After School | Nana is typically a very outgoing and friendly person, but she's hard to get along with at first due to that fact she's uncomfortable around new people. When you get past that, she's a great person to be around. | When they first met, their relationship with one another was pretty awkward. Nana was uncomfortable around Alex at first due to the fact she's not comfortable around new people. But as time went on, Alex began to grow on her. They now have a very comfortable friendship with one another where they feel like they can tell one another everything from their concerns to simply small everyday things such as what did you eat today. Nana does kind of get upset with Alex when Nana tries to talk about her insecurities, but Alex just doesn't seem to understand that well. Nana ends up shrugging it off and apologizes for bringing up such matters, leaving Alex confused on why she's apologizing but Alex doesn't question it. They know a great deal about one another to a point it could be considered embarrasing and they do make fun of one another out of love - or so they claim, which it is. The two will always support one another and be there for one another as well. Overall, just the kind of friendship many people dream of having.

Love Interest:

Back-Up Love Interest:

Rival:

The Star Rigel

Stagename: Alex
Persona: Harmonious Sincerity
Personal Fanclub: B.E.S (BESincere)
Personal Motto: "Being true to yourself is much more important than you may think."

Talents: Playing piano, music history questions (answering them and knowing things that many others don't know), impersonating Key and Nana
Weaknesses: Singing really low notes (not that she can't do it, but sometimes it's really hard for her), taking things way too literally, fully understanding situations and others problems (leads to people believing that she either's naive or just plain stupid)

Pre-Debut Experience: She's done a variety of different things from modelling to be being a backup dancer for Orange Caramel and Secret.

Trainee Years: 3 years + 2 years = five years in total
Trainee Background:
When Alex first began training, she began under Pledis Entertainment in 2008. She was at Pledis from 2008 to 2011 and switched to TS Entertainment just before After School began promoting "Shampoo." At Pledis, she was treated normally like any other trainee. Due to her musical background, she was not given any upperhand and had to work herself to debut like everybody else did. She was treated much like any other trainee - a student that needed to be trained to become an idol. Other trainees treated her pretty well to say the least, and she treated them the same. They spoke kind worcs to one another and treated one another with respect but never went farther than that.

Alex became a Pre-school girl (the girls in the line-up for After School) sometime in 2010 but didn't recieve the opportunity to actually debut in After School until the prepartions for After School's first studio album began and they were looking for a new member to add to the group. She made it to the top four to be selected but was cut then, she didn't know who the third girl who got cut was but she did know that in the final two was Yoo Ara - in 2012 would become the leader of Hello Venus - and Noh Yiyoung, who became better known as E-Young from After School. After E-Young was selected, Alex wanted a change of pace. She's been at Pledis for three years now and the only group that they had at the time was After School and there wasn't even any thought about Hello Venus in the picture at the time, maybe she would have better luck at another company.

She ended up leaving Pledis in 2011 and going over to TS Entertainment. Similar to Pledis, she was treated much like any other trainee at the company and the trainees treated her the same. Many people questioned her on why she left Pledis when she could still have a chance at joining After School due to enrolling and graduation concept, but she just simply told them it was for a change of pace and to debut in a new group, not to be added in as a member when a member left.

Position: Main Vocalist + Lead Dancer

Singing: one | two | three {After School's Raina
Dancing: one | two | three  {SNSD's Sooyoung
Rapping: one | two | three

Final Statements

Questions: Nope~
Comments/Suggestions: So, I understood it was least likely for Rigel to have a love interest, correct? I did like the fact that I didn't have to select a love interest for her because that's honestly takes the longest time for me choosing the right person for my characters. I was thinking though, it would be kind of interesting seeing her and Key form a love-line I guess with one another. I'm not saying as a love interest, because the story isn't mainly about the love interests as you said, but I'm kind of dying to see her get over the whole "I don't believe (understand) in love" thing. Maybe having him helping her understand why Romeo & Juliet did such a thing and why her friends from Michigan were so heartbroken over breaking up with their boyfriend, maybe with some help from her members?... Take this however you please, it was just something I was thinking about. Or ignore this, pretty sure I'm like on some sort of drug from not sleeping well lately D=
Ignore the spelling and grammar errors, I kind of don't want to reread throught it right now and correct it ;A: Too much to read even for me, please understand.
Scene Requests: Uhhh... I'm not too good with this kind of stuff honestly "^^ Maybe Alex and Nana hanging out maybe? You know, just discussing what's going on in their life and yeah... I don't know xD Like I said, I kind of stink at scene requests. But besides the thing above and this, I can't think of anything else "^^ But if I think of any in the future, I'll let you know.

I have nothing else to say that I simply love her. I have no corrections or things I'd like you to change. You definitely used to plotline perfectly, just like I wished people to. She is definitely accepted and I can probably say she's very likely to get chosen.
