about me
History: Lihwa was born in Haidian District, Beijing, China to a Chinese couple. For as long as Lihwa could possibly remember, she's been dancing ballet thanks to the influence of her mom. She never questioned it and basically let her parents run her life. Lihwa simply viewed them as people that she had to listen to because they were her parents and afterall, parents knew best right? Lihwa was often told to stay away from the grandkids of the elderly couple that lived next door and Lihwa being the obedient child that she was, obeyed her parents and stayed away from them. However, it seemed that fate had different plans in mind for her when she came across Alex one day when walking back home from BDA. He didn't really notice her at first because he was far too busy paying attention to whatever he was dancing too with earbuds in his ears. Lihwa just stopped and stared at him until he felt someone watching him and turned around to look at her. All it took was one smile from him and the rest was basically history. A year later, Lihwa continued to practice the dances the Zhang siblings had taught her by herself in private and had basically avoided the three for a year since the incident. Her mother has not laid a hand on her since then and Lihwa preferred to keep it that way but once again, fate had other plans in mind. Alex had approached her one evening once she was returning home from school and simply said that he missed having her around. Lihwa, of course, missed him and the other two as well but she didn't want to disobey her mother again... Alex saw the hesitance and promised that they would keep their meetings and the time they spent together would be kept more secret. When Lihwa still showed hesitance, Alex told her that she couldn't just let her mom control her life. She had to decide for herself everyonce in awhile. After that, Lihwa finally agreed to start spending time with the siblings once again. It didn't go unnoticed by the watchful eyes of her mother. Her mom had just gotten Lihwa back on the "right" path again and wouldn't let the kids next door take the next "prima ballerina" away from her. Her mom began beating her again but Lihwa never understood why but I think deep down inside of her, she knew why but refused to admit it to herself. Lihwa continued to see the siblings despite the beatings recieved from her mother until one night, her mom mentioned the siblings, saying that she knew Lihwa has been seeing them again. Shocked by her mom's words, her mom told her that she must do well at the next examination at BDA and if she failed... Lihwa wouldn't want to know what her mother would do to her. When the examination came around, Lihwa started off fairly well and did as well as she usually did but things all came crashing down when she fell and couldn't get back up. She was taken to the emergency room only to find out that she had sprained her ankle and that she would still be able to dance once it was healed, but just to be careful when she did start dancing again. Once she returned home that night, Lihwa recieved the worst beating she ever recieved from her mom and it was also the first time her mom called her a "disappointment." Afterwards, Lihwa refused to leave her room for a very long time. Her mom never said anything about it but her dad would often take care of her and make sure everything was alright. He was always the one who took care of her after a beating but he never did anything to stop her mom. One evening, her mom was out to dinner with a few other teachers at BDA when her father brought the Zhang siblings to see her. He stayed in the room as the siblings explained to her that they were leaving China entirely and moving to Korea in order to start a new life together. Justin had gained custody of Paige, Alex was of legal age and all three of them had been saving money for three one-way plane tickets, a decent sized two bedroom apartment and a small dance studio. They told her they wanted her to come with them and when she looked at her dad, he held up another plane ticket that was also one-way and told her that he couldn't just continue to stand there and watch her mother continue to beat her. He wanted her to be happy and if leaving them and China would do so, then that's what he wanted for her. Lihwa agreed. At age 18, she left China a week after the discussion in her room. The Zhang siblings gave her the English name of Grace and now often referred to her as their other sister in the family when they moved to Seoul. Grace is now the name she always goes by in Korea and what she is known by. However, there are still some people who call her Lihwa but very rarely. They struggled for awhile to stay afloat in Seoul but they managed to hit the jackpot when their small dance studio "Revolution" was discussed in several performing arts magazines. Since then, they have purchased a much larger studio and the three co-owners are currently Alex, Justin and Lihwa herself. The studio is well-known by many and despite it being owned by a group of three Chinese young adults, it's still really popular and often praised. Lihwa no longer speaks to her mom (she still lives in fear of her though) but still talks to her dad once a week over the phone in private.

its just me
Personality : Despite all that's happen to her, she still retains the bright aura that she usually does and is always smiling and seemingly never upset about anything. Lihwa always sees the positives of things and is pretty upbeat about just everything. She can pretty much brighten up anybody's mood or even a room with just a simple smile from her or even a laugh. Being pretty easy to get along with, Lihwa does make friends quite easily which is not surprising in the slightest. Most people find it hard to dislike her when she is always smiling and happy about life, but some people still do just because she is always so bright. It can get a bit annoying sometimes with her brightness and people have pointed it out to her, but she is never fazed by it. However, she is always there for those she cares about and encourages them to do well, often bringing out the best in others. Lihwa has no intention to hurt anyone (mainly due to her past) and she wants to see people achieve their dream and so, she is a constant encouragment to others and like I said, she brings out the best in others, even those who don't seem like it could ever happen with. Lihwa has also been revealed to be flexible when it comes to handling things, often taking on more than she can chew but still managing to get through it despite the amount of stress that may be put on her because she's the type that works best under stress. She's a very focused and hard working person who won't rest until the task at hand is completed. Lihwa is very dedicated and hardworking and because of it, people feel inspired and motivated by her constant energy to achieve. Maybe it could also be her usual bright and vibrant personality as well, but that doesn't seem to matter. Even though many don't know her story, they still feel as if she sufferred greatly in the past and to see her so bright and happy and doing what she loves, it makes people feel inspired to do their very best as well. Despite the amount of potential in her, Lihwa still has problems completely following through with what she is doing now. She is still constantly haunted by her past and lives in fear that her mom will come after her despite it being nearly five years since she last saw or heard from her. She's the type of person that needs a push from time to time in order to achieve the greatness she can (and yes, Alex had to "push" her to accept the offer because she was hesitant). Also because of this, she's not the type to control others and believes everyone should never be contolled because it's never the best feeling in life (she knows from experience). Everyone should be able to choose their own path in life and not have to worry about others standing in their way, preventing them from doing so. It's wrong on just so many levels. It's one of her biggest pet peeves so don't be surprised if she gets upset with you when you're telling someone what to do. She's extremely selfless and never has selfish intentions and simply wants the best for others in case that wasn't obvious by now. If she cares about you (even sometimes when she even doesn't), she'll go out of her way to help you. As it may seem by now, Lihwa is very people orientated and very concerned of other's feelings. Even so though, Lihwa does need time to be alone more often than the average person. It's usually best to leave her alone during those times because she's not the brightest of people when she wants to be left alone. It's like she needs her time alone in order to recharge her brightness. Just leave her alone during those times and you'll be fine. Lihwa is also very sensitive and her feelings get hurt really easy and people have to pratically tip toe around her in order to not hurt her feelings. She gets moved easily by the smallest of things (which is probably why she likes dramas) and also cries at "sad" movies. She's just very sensitive. It's probably important to conclude this with the fact that she may be everything above, but her current emotional state is very pained and she just paints on a smile in order to not allow people to know how hurt she really is by her past. Overall? She's a very bright, dedicated and inspiring person who also needs time to be alone, is very sensitive and is pained from her past. |
