                      about me

History: Lihwa was born in Haidian District, Beijing, China to a Chinese couple. For as long as Lihwa could possibly remember, she's been dancing ballet thanks to the influence of her mom. She never questioned it and basically let her parents run her life. Lihwa simply viewed them as people that she had to listen to because they were her parents and afterall, parents knew best right?

Lihwa was a student at Beijing Dance Academy, the school her mom taught at, since she was basically able to go to school. It seemed as if her parents had her entire life planned out for her... Well, at least her mom did. Her mom was a former star ballerina in her glory days but due to an accident, her mom had to quit dancing and retire. Now stuck as a simple dance teacher at BDA, her mom hoped to have Lihwa go farther than she ever did and continue where her mom had left off. Lihwa was never aware of her mom's intention with having her train so hardly to become the perfect ballerina but she never really bothered to stop and think about it. At least until she was introduced to the Zhang siblings who had moved next door to her family after their own parents passed away in a car accident. The three siblings moved in with their maternal grandparents at least until Justin was able to support his siblings and take them and move away with full custody of them. But until then, they were more or less stuck in Beijing. She was only 15 at the time.

Lihwa was often told to stay away from the grandkids of the elderly couple that lived next door and Lihwa being the obedient child that she was, obeyed her parents and stayed away from them. However, it seemed that fate had different plans in mind for her when she came across Alex one day when walking back home from BDA. He didn't really notice her at first because he was far too busy paying attention to whatever he was dancing too with earbuds in his ears. Lihwa just stopped and stared at him until he felt someone watching him and turned around to look at her. All it took was one smile from him and the rest was basically history.

She went against what her parents said and found herself spending alot of time with the Zhang siblings. Apparently, they were all dancers too but with Alex and Paige being more so than Justin. Their dancing was completely different than what Lihwa was ever taught to do in which she later on found out was mainly hip hop and popping and locking as they called it, styles that were pretty popular in the States. She immeditatly asked them to teach her as well and they complied. Before Lihwa knew it, she was beginning to focus less on her ballet and more on whatever the three siblings had to share with and show her. Her mother noticed her paying less attention in classes and even caught wind of the less focused Lihwa from other teachers at BDA. One evening as Lihwa was returning home from spending time and learning dancing with the Zhang siblings, her mom beat her for the first time about disobeying her and called her "an insubordinate brat." Lihwa was scarred and not wanting to face the rath of her mother again, dropped all contact with the Zhang siblings. She was only 16.

A year later, Lihwa continued to practice the dances the Zhang siblings had taught her by herself in private and had basically avoided the three for a year since the incident. Her mother has not laid a hand on her since then and Lihwa preferred to keep it that way but once again, fate had other plans in mind. Alex had approached her one evening once she was returning home from school and simply said that he missed having her around. Lihwa, of course, missed him and the other two as well but she didn't want to disobey her mother again... Alex saw the hesitance and promised that they would keep their meetings and the time they spent together would be kept more secret. When Lihwa still showed hesitance, Alex told her that she couldn't just let her mom control her life. She had to decide for herself everyonce in awhile. After that, Lihwa finally agreed to start spending time with the siblings once again.

It didn't go unnoticed by the watchful eyes of her mother. Her mom had just gotten Lihwa back on the "right" path again and wouldn't let the kids next door take the next "prima ballerina" away from her. Her mom began beating her again but Lihwa never understood why but I think deep down inside of her, she knew why but refused to admit it to herself. Lihwa continued to see the siblings despite the beatings recieved from her mother until one night, her mom mentioned the siblings, saying that she knew Lihwa has been seeing them again. Shocked by her mom's words, her mom told her that she must do well at the next examination at BDA and if she failed... Lihwa wouldn't want to know what her mother would do to her.

When the examination came around, Lihwa started off fairly well and did as well as she usually did but things all came crashing down when she fell and couldn't get back up. She was taken to the emergency room only to find out that she had sprained her ankle and that she would still be able to dance once it was healed, but just to be careful when she did start dancing again. Once she returned home that night, Lihwa recieved the worst beating she ever recieved from her mom and it was also the first time her mom called her a "disappointment."

Afterwards, Lihwa refused to leave her room for a very long time. Her mom never said anything about it but her dad would often take care of her and make sure everything was alright. He was always the one who took care of her after a beating but he never did anything to stop her mom. One evening, her mom was out to dinner with a few other teachers at BDA when her father brought the Zhang siblings to see her. He stayed in the room as the siblings explained to her that they were leaving China entirely and moving to Korea in order to start a new life together. Justin had gained custody of Paige, Alex was of legal age and all three of them had been saving money for three one-way plane tickets, a decent sized two bedroom apartment and a small dance studio. They told her they wanted her to come with them and when she looked at her dad, he held up another plane ticket that was also one-way and told her that he couldn't just continue to stand there and watch her mother continue to beat her. He wanted her to be happy and if leaving them and China would do so, then that's what he wanted for her. Lihwa agreed.

At age 18, she left China a week after the discussion in her room. The Zhang siblings gave her the English name of Grace and now often referred to her as their other sister in the family when they moved to Seoul. Grace is now the name she always goes by in Korea and what she is known by. However, there are still some people who call her Lihwa but very rarely.

They struggled for awhile to stay afloat in Seoul but they managed to hit the jackpot when their small dance studio "Revolution" was discussed in several performing arts magazines. Since then, they have purchased a much larger studio and the three co-owners are currently Alex, Justin and Lihwa herself. The studio is well-known by many and despite it being owned by a group of three Chinese young adults, it's still really popular and often praised.

Lihwa no longer speaks to her mom (she still lives in fear of her though) but still talks to her dad once a week over the phone in private.

Likes:
♦ Dancing; pretty obvious.
♦ Smoothies; especially the fruit ones
♦ Sharpies; she collects them really and you'll often find random little scribbles and doodles all over hands and Alex's as well when she can get a hold of him.
♦ BoA; hello? role model.
♦ Soft pillows; they give her much more comfort than they really should. everytime she goes out, she always manages to bring home a new one or get either Alex or Justin to buy her one. you should honestly see her bed. it's like a child dreams. no joke.
♦ Dramas; she's a er for the cheesy.

♦ Anything related to horror; give her a good ghost story or even a horror movie and she'll love you forever.
♦ Soju
♦ English; she loves learning the language. teach her some new words, you're freakin' amazing.

Dislikes:
♦ 2NE1; nothing against the girls, she doesn't like their music.
♦ White chocolate; yuck.
♦ Crowded places; pretty obvious.
♦ Alex being upset with her.
♦ HAN. FREAKING. SANGIL.; her amount of dislike for him is pretty much endless.
♦ One Direction & Justin Bieber; go away.

♦ Staplers; the spawn of satan. she's stapled her fingers by accident one too many times and refuses to be in a 10 meter radius of them.
♦ People refusing to leave her alone; when she wants to be alone, leave her alone goddammit.

Habits:
♦ She always sleeps cuddled with her favorite pillow. She can't sleep without it.
♦ Stretching/warm ups first thing in the morning
♦ Jogs every morning as well.
♦ Counts calories every time food is given to her. She pretty much knows the amout of calories for each food item given to her and if she doesn't, she'll ask and caculate the amount really quickly. She did do ballet for a long time and was on a strict diet, so I blame that.
♦ Curses in Mandarin every time she's upset or frustrated.
Hobbies:
♦ Dancing; um, duh.
♦ Doodling on herself or Alex with her sharpies.
♦ Learning more English.
♦ Reading; horrors of course.
♦ Collecting pillows.
Talents:
♦ Dancing
♦ Flexible; just in general. blame all the years she did ballet.
♦ Telling ghost stories off the top of her head; yes, that's a talent. how many people do you know can do that?
♦ Counting calories; she does it way too quickly. not even joking.
Flaws:
♦ Too sensitive/emotional at times.
♦ Afraid to do what she wants/can't crack out of her shell
Trivia:
♦ She attended Beijing Dance Academy for as long as she can remember.
♦ Currently works as a dance teacher and instructor at RDS (Revolution Dance Studio) where she is also the co-owner and founder.
♦ Will be recieving Korean citizenship really soon. (Will hold dual citizenship between China and Korea; Chinese-Korean.)
♦ She currently uses a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It was a gift from Alex and Justin from this past Christmas.
♦ Everytime she tyes her hair up in a ponytail, she uses a bow or a ribbon to complete it. It's a must to her.

♦ Can surprisingly hold her alcohol well.
Quote you live by:
♦ "
A dream is a dominant idea that is ever present within us and constantly provokes us to greatness and awakens a desire to do all that we can to be more than we are." - Phinehas Kinuthia
Biggest Secret:
♦ She often gets nightmares about her mom coming after her and trying to... kill her so to speak. Lihwa often wakes up screaming because of it and in a cold sweat. At the same time, she also gets panic attacks every once in awhile from it too. She has gone to the doctor and he has dubbed it as "post trauma" and it's simply the way her mind decided to deal with it all. Lihwa has never spoken to anyone about the beatings her mother put her through even though she's pretty sure the Zhang siblings are aware but just never said anything. It would probably help to talk about it but she refuses even to this day.

its just me

Personality : Despite all that's happen to her, she still retains the bright aura that she usually does and is always smiling and seemingly never upset about anything. Lihwa always sees the positives of things and is pretty upbeat about just everything. She can pretty much brighten up anybody's mood or even a room with just a simple smile from her or even a laugh. Being pretty easy to get along with, Lihwa does make friends quite easily which is not surprising in the slightest. Most people find it hard to dislike her when she is always smiling and happy about life, but some people still do just because she is always so bright. It can get a bit annoying sometimes with her brightness and people have pointed it out to her, but she is never fazed by it. However, she is always there for those she cares about and encourages them to do well, often bringing out the best in others. Lihwa has no intention to hurt anyone (mainly due to her past) and she wants to see people achieve their dream and so, she is a constant encouragment to others and like I said, she brings out the best in others, even those who don't seem like it could ever happen with.

Lihwa has also been revealed to be flexible when it comes to handling things, often taking on more than she can chew but still managing to get through it despite the amount of stress that may be put on her because she's the type that works best under stress. She's a very focused and hard working person who won't rest until the task at hand is completed.

Lihwa is very dedicated and hardworking and because of it, people feel inspired and motivated by her constant energy to achieve. Maybe it could also be her usual bright and vibrant personality as well, but that doesn't seem to matter. Even though many don't know her story, they still feel as if she sufferred greatly in the past and to see her so bright and happy and doing what she loves, it makes people feel inspired to do their very best as well. Despite the amount of potential in her, Lihwa still has problems completely following through with what she is doing now. She is still constantly haunted by her past and lives in fear that her mom will come after her despite it being nearly five years since she last saw or heard from her. She's the type of person that needs a push from time to time in order to achieve the greatness she can (and yes, Alex had to "push" her to accept the offer because she was hesitant). Also because of this, she's not the type to control others and believes everyone should never be contolled because it's never the best feeling in life (she knows from experience). Everyone should be able to choose their own path in life and not have to worry about others standing in their way, preventing them from doing so. It's wrong on just so many levels. It's one of her biggest pet peeves so don't be surprised if she gets upset with you when you're telling someone what to do. She's extremely selfless and never has selfish intentions and simply wants the best for others in case that wasn't obvious by now. If she cares about you (even sometimes when she even doesn't), she'll go out of her way to help you.

As it may seem by now, Lihwa is very people orientated and very concerned of other's feelings. Even so though, Lihwa does need time to be alone more often than the average person. It's usually best to leave her alone during those times because she's not the brightest of people when she wants to be left alone. It's like she needs her time alone in order to recharge her brightness. Just leave her alone during those times and you'll be fine. Lihwa is also very sensitive and her feelings get hurt really easy and people have to pratically tip toe around her in order to not hurt her feelings. She gets moved easily by the smallest of things (which is probably why she likes dramas) and also cries at "sad" movies. She's just very sensitive.

It's probably important to conclude this with the fact that she may be everything above, but her current emotional state is very pained and she just paints on a smile in order to not allow people to know how hurt she really is by her past. Overall? She's a very bright, dedicated and inspiring person who also needs time to be alone, is very sensitive and is pained from her past.

love & the things it does to us

Name : Kim Jongin [Kai]
Age : 20
DOB :
14 January 1994
Band : EXO
Personality : Kai and Kim Jongin are two completely different people and that's something to be kept in mind. Kim Jongin is basically like a puppy. Puppies can be adorable, bouncy and just overall cute and lovable. That's what Jongin is. He's adorable and just positively lovable and no one can actually truly hate the guy without putting up a fight with themself. Like a puppy, he's very curious about his surroundings and tends to ask alot of questions to those around him. At the same time, he's very caring towards those he cares about and very cold towards those he doesn't. But also like a puppy, he can be a brat. He has a habit of whining about certain things that he wants to happen or get, getting on peoples nerves with endless amount of curiousity and chatter, and even just by being himself. But at the end of the day, no matter how much the puppy is annoying or a brat, you still love them. And yes, no matter how much of a brat Jongin can be sometimes, people still love him. Kai is this charismatic guy who becomes someone totally different once he gets on the stage. He's hardly even the same person any more and pratically owns that stage. He's ultimately this cold guy who couldn't care less about his surroundings and is just fully taken in by the music that surrounds him. Kai still retains some various traits from Kim Jongin but not entirely. Just two different people... Kai and Kim Jongin.
What is it you like about them?: There is nothing she doesn't like. His dancing, his smile, his personality and... everything really. He's a very sincere person and that's all Lihwa needs in her life.
How did you find them?: Um, who doesn't know EXO? Seriously. But that's besides the point, Lihwa only knows him because of Alex. As Alex often puts it, he has friends in high places and he isn't kidding. Jongin was one of the people that came to RDS every once in awhile for extra dance practice prior to debut. Lihwa never had the honor of meeting him however due to the fact she was always busy doing something else. She would often hear about him from the other students at RDS and even from Alex but Lihwa never cared too much. Lihwa later on found about his debut but still didn't seem to care too much. However, she developed an interest in him and the rest of his group after EXO released Growl and how huge it hit in Korea that she and the rest of the staff of RDS had to learn the choreography to teach to the students of RDS. Alex may or may not have slipped him her number one day and he may or may not have called that number. So, they're currently only speaking over the phone as well as the occassional text.
What do you think of them?: Sweet and cute kid. Lihwa really enjoys talking to him. There's nothing more to it.
What was your first impression of  them?: Arrogant. Could you blame her? She didn't really know him before they started talking over the phone and she's only really seen him through the television from the live performance. However, it was quickly proved wrong but from time to time, she still does view him as such.
How do you two act around each other?: Noona-dongsaeng. They have a very brotherly-sisterly relationship right now with each other but there are times when the air gets awkward when they're on the phone due to... maybe hidden feelings? Who knows. They're always just very smilely and often tease each other when they talk. Just a very comfortable relationship with one another and don't seem to have any other feelings towards one another except just as friends. However, there could always be more if they bothered to meet each other in person...
What do they think of you?: She's just seen as a very nice noona figure to him and he finds her a very nice person to talk too. However, he's dying to meet her in person but Lihwa just seems to very hesitant about meeting him. He also feels afraid of the possibilty of officially meeting her because he may not admit it, but definitely has feelings towards her that could expand past the noona range. And maybe Lihwa feels the same? /cough/ They just need to meet to make sure that these feelings are just nothing and just their imaginations.
Do you have an ex in the wind?   [ X ] Yes   [ X ] No

If yes, please explain: The reason why I checked both is because she may not have an ex so to speak of, but she does have Alex. Lihwa harbors alot of feelings towards Alex and if anyone were to stand in the way of the two /possibly/ being together, than it would be Alex. Lihwa may not have romantic feelings towards Alex but she feels like she owes something to him and that will probably hold her back more than anything else. Looks like Alex may have to give her a push and reassurance like he usually does... maybe.
Do they have an ex in the wind?   [  ] Yes   [ X ] No
        If yes, please explain: n/a

talent over looked

Singing talent : o1 o2 o3 (is able to reach high notes easily but sometimes sounds like she's screaming.)
Dancing talent : o1 o2 o3 (you could totally pretend the guy in the last one is Alex btw.)
Rapping talent : o1 o2 o3
Personal Fan Club Name : Tinkerbells (males refer to themselves as simply Tinkers)
Message to your fans : "The world is never against you, it's just you against yourself."
How where you discovered? RDS is a well-known dance studio and with her being one of the owners, co-founders, teachers, and instructors at the school, everyone basically knows who she is. What really brought attention to her was a recent flashmob the dance studio was hosting, which they do on a regular basis. Up until now, Lihwa was never the "leader" of it and it was usually either Alex or Paige but they finally managed to get her to agree to it. The flashmob was of course recorded by bystanders and uploaded to YouTube.  Not too long after, she was contacted by the company. Being hesitant about the whole ordeal, Alex said it would have been a good thing for her, help her break out of her shell, and so Lihwa finally agreed.
