Jake kind of has two faces. There's the really charismatic and kind guy. Well-mannered, good at socialising and easy at talking to girls and making new friends. Caring and always aware of lines he can/cannot cross. He is really confident - especially in his looks. s know that the can always go straight to him when there are problems, because they know he would help no matter what. If there was no one who could resolve the problem, he could.

He is a hardworking and energetic person, who handles the pressure and the stress of the hard schedules well, also because of his fitness. Family Background:

Jake was born in Baltimore, USA. His parents where working in the USA. He was raised in accordance with Korean tradions. When he was 7 he started to play football, because of his father who was coaching a highschool team himself. He became a star athlete at home.

When he was 10, Jake started listening excessively to hip hop. He was really into American rap and wanted to learn how to rap himself. In junior high Jake was more and more into rap that he started to write his first raps. He posted his lyrics on a Korean online forum for hip hop and got really good response. He joined an underground hip hop crew as a rapper and recorded a demo tape.

When he was 14, his father died in a car accident while driving drunk, with Jake in the car. Jake survived but could not forgive himself that he was not able to take the car keys away that night. His father's death made Jake aggressive and testy.

After a football match that Jake won with his team, a frustrated player from the opposing team made taunds about his father, so Jake started a brawl with the opposing player, breaking his nose. Jake got thrown off the team. But he took it in stide because he "was leaving scholl anyway".

Because his younger brother Min Ho got a tennis scholarship, 16 year-old Jake moved together with his mom and his dongsaeng back to his mother's birthplace, Seoul to support his brother's tennis career. His mother really hoped that Jake could start to move on away from his old memories.

At his new school in Seould circulated a video of the brawl in Baltimore that someone had uploaded on youtube. So the kingkas became interested in him. There was a fighting champion and fights between students at the school Jake should compete as well. He declined until the champion brutally battered his best friend at school. He beat the champion in a final fight and never fought again against a student.

In Seoul Jake joined another underground hip hop crew and got close with senior artists of his label, who recognized his skills. After he stood on stage and felt the allure of it, he ended up chosing this road.

Trainee Background: Practice, practice, practice - that was the mantra of his trainee days. He didn't excel in singing or dancing, but surprisingly the boy could rap. He was rather good. But most important to his managemant was his look. But he wasn't told to be the visual till the very last second before the final members were announced.

He had some difficulties dealing with the training routine, but was a good friend for his fellow trainees. He had to get used to sharing a room, because he never had before, though. It was a hard yet fun time for him.

Audition: He was street casted due to his good looks. He got invited to a private audition. It took less than 90 seconds for him to be accepted as a trainee. They didn't even listen to a whole song. His look was outstanding.
