Hair & Makeup

"It's like seeing the colors of a neutral rainbow every month!"

Ellie enjoys dying her hair in different colors. Currently, she's sticking to a reddish-brown (shown in picture on the left). She does this because she doesn't want to be recognized as a child of Nyx. Usually, children of Nyx will have charcoal black hair that always shimmers under the moonlight and fair skin. If her dye is running, she'll re-dye it again.

Her hair will be in a ponytail if she is training but most of the time she lets it down. And she rarely styles it so it will be like as if she woke up from bed. But she does brush her hair. During missions, she would leave her hair down but sometimes she does put it in a bun or a ponytail.

"If I had a penny for everyday she applies her eyeliner, I'd be swimming in pennies by now."

Ellie uses a ton of eyeliner. It's like her baby. You touch her eyeliner, you use her eyeliner, you steal her eyeliner, or you throw it away, you will never live to see another day. She can go without eye shadow, blusher, lipstick, concealer, etc, but without eyeliner, she feels weird and empty. The eyeliner usually makes her seem more intimidating without her even knowing it.

Jewelry & Tattoos

"It's for your protection, dear."

Ellie doesn't wear much jewelry except for three pairs of studs on both ears, a black diamond necklace of a cross, and a black moonstone ring. She has a belly button ring as well. The necklace was given to her by her mother (NOT her stepmother) just before she had died of leukemia. And the black moonstone ring was given to her by Nyx after she discovered that she was a demigod. It was a form of protection and an indicator that she was Nyx's favorite child. She wears it on her left hand middle finger.

Ellie has three tattoos. One is on her right wrist which formed the words 'Child of Nyx' in Greek (Παιδί της Νύξ). The other one is on her left wrist which had a black crescent moon but it had a wolf's head protruding out the other side (1). The last one is on her back which is actually a pair of black wings that reach all the way to her backside (2). There are meanings to them actually.

The one on her right wrist happened when Nyx grabbed her by her right wrist and forced the tattoo onto her skin so that she'll be known as the child of Nyx. The one on her left wrist was a tribute to the moon and the wolves because she managed to tame her first wolf under the moonlight. The last one on her back was her choice. She decided to do it because she wanted to make up for the lack of wings she was supposed to have as the child of Nyx (explained later).

Clothing

"It's like she's obsessed with death. And it scares me."

Ellie doesn't like bright colors or vivid patterns. She's very simple but she prefers black as it allows her to blend into the night. She wears leather jackets all the time and black jeans or black jean shorts as well (1,2,3,4,5,6). She would sometimes wear a white tank top together with her leather jacket but most of the time she wears black. And she would wear black sneakers that help to soften her footsteps too.

On her right wrist, where the tattoo given by Nyx herself is, she wears a black open- glove to cover the tattoo. Her other hand is left glove-less. And also the glove helps her when she's holding knives since she's right handed.

During training, she would wear a plain black crop tank top and military patterned pants along with black combat boots. She will still wear her glove on her right hand and wear her jewelry. 

When she's at Camp Half Blood, she'll wear the uniform which is the shirt but with a leather jacket and black jeans. She will also wear her jewelry and the glove on her right hand.

Weapons

Ellie's favorite is the dagger or the knife. Any small sized dagger or knife; she will have absolute control and handle over it. Her first daggers were a gift from Nyx. They were black shadow daggers meant for killing during the night. The daggers can take the form of two similar keychain that hook onto her belt. Usually, she uses only one dagger to kill but sometimes she would use two.

Distant

"Every time she makes her presence known, it scares the hell out of me. I'm pretty sure that my risk of a heart attack has grown tremendously ever since I met her."

Ellie is usually very distant from the world. She doesn't particularly enjoy attention and would prefer sitting back and observing the situation. Although this does apply to her personality, it also applies to her relations with people. Like her mother Nyx for example.

She hated Nyx for changing her lifestyle and placing burdens on her that she didn't want or need. Whenever Nyx wanted to speak to her, she would always find an excuse to run away from her mother. And that also explains why she has so many escapades away from camp.

Most of the time she's very quiet and has little words to say but when she does, most of the time something unexpected will come out. She can make her presence either much known or very invisible. She can do this so well that when she does make her presence known, it scares the hell out of people.

Temperamental

"When she snaps, you run and never look back. I swear to god, if you look back, you'll regret it for the rest of your life."

Ellie is very quick to anger. She gets irritated easily and usually the first one to snap unexpectedly. She doesn't seem very hot-headed but actually she is. This is a quality passed down from Nyx as Nyx is known for her maternal fury.

In other words, Ellie just hates annoying stuff. She doesn't like to be controlled and told what to do. She doesn't like to be pushed around and she doesn't like to be treated like a princess. All of these annoy her a lot, especially being treated like a princess and being forced to do something she doesn't want to do. 

But Ellie can be calm and collected if she wanted to. Just like Nyx, who tries to stay calm and passive when facing Zeus (after all she can't forgive him for trying to torment her dear son, Hypnos). But in the end, she'll definitely fail and start spewing out curses and insults in fury. 

Cunning

"Not even a mind reader can read her mind."

Ellie is extremely cunning. She knows how to get her way using her charm and words. Always very analytical, she will definitely have some kind of risky plan up her sleeve. She's sharp with both her words and analysis. This is another quality passed from Nyx.

She's very sneaky and unpredictable. You'll never know what she has in mind. Always very vague with her answers, she knows how to escape prodding questions while getting the answers she needs. She can be very tricky to figure out.

This furtive personality of hers makes her rather untrustworthy. She has too many secrets of her own and too many lies. Strangers can never tell whether she's lying or not but close friends can. Strangely enough, with her close friends, she can never lie and she'd choose not to; she'd keep to herself rather than talk. But with strangers, the lies just keep on pouring out like the Niagara Falls.

Coward

"You run in the face of your destiny yet you laugh in the presence of danger. You are a coward."

Ellie is an extreme coward in the presence of duty and destiny. She'll run into a burning fire, she'll stay out in a thunderstorm, and she'll look pain in the eye and give him the finger, but she'll never claim her duty. If she does, it will always be after Nyx argues with her and forces her to do so or she'll do it for something.

She hates her demigod status. In fact, she despises it with a burning passion. Yeah, sure. Enhanced abilities, powers to blend in the dark, and wings that she should have gotten ages ago. They're all cool but the burden is horrible and it takes her away from Alex, her little brother. Some say that because she hasn't fully accepted the fact that she is a demigod, her wings and other powers haven't been revealed yet. She's always resisting it.

Whenever duty calls, she'll find an excuse to run away or skip it. She goes on missions reluctantly and skips training on a regular basis. She tries everything she can to get thrown out of Camp Half-Blood but all her efforts are futile. That's why she hates Nyx. She hates her for taking her away from Alex, for putting her through something she doesn't want, and for forcing her to accept her duty. 

Double Personality

"Morning. Night. Sun. Moon. These are the variables that change her."

Ellie has two personalities and they waver depending on the time of day and position of the moon or sun. Her first personality is the day personality and the second personality is the night personality. A lot of this is passed down from Nyx.

In fact, it is said that because Ellie isn't resisting her status as a demigod as much when it is night time, she loses herself in Nyx's personality. So her night personality is more like Nyx's than her day personality. They say that because of Ellie's affinity for the dark, she feels more comfortable at night and lets her guard down, allowing the demigod part of her to take over. However, during the day, she's resisting it too much and the sun does affect her.

In the morning, Ellie is still recovering from her night personality and her day personality won't turn up until the sun rises. As the sun rises from the horizon, Ellie is slowly regaining her senses. When it fully rises, she's officially completely in her day personality. Her day personality is her real personality. She's quieter, less harsh, smiles a little bit more, and rather distant. She's very calm and passive and in the right mind. As the day hits the hottest part of the day, Ellie is deep into her day persona. And as it slowly dies down, Ellie is slowly losing herself to her night personality.

At night, Ellie is unrecognizable. She's the exact opposite. She's crude, talkative, cunning, and cheeky. This part of her loves to cause tons of trouble. Sneaking away from camp, stealing food or valuables, breaking into houses, this is the bad side of Ellie. And she doesn't know it. Though her personality at night depends on the moon. When it is a full moon out, her personality will be very similar to her day personality because there is light. When there is no moon, there is not much light and that is when Ellie is at her worst.

In the Trojan War, it is said that it was Nyx who protected the spies and supported them. It is said that those who favor mischief and misdeeds would get along very well with Nyx. She protects fugitives and criminals who do bad things at night. And there are a ton of stories on Nyx about her treachery and evil doings. So, that's why Ellie never gets found out. Nyx is always with her whenever night falls.  

Background: 

Birth {0-5}

Before Ellie was born, her father, Kim Hyung Jin was just a normal man. He worked at an office and lived in a small apartment in Busan. He was pretty average and wasn't wealthy at all. He came from a humble countryside family and had nothing worth of value under his name. 

One day, he was walking home at night when he met Nyx who was in disguise as a e. She decided to have a little fun and seduced him. The next day, she revealed herself to him and told him that she would grant one favor of his for being so fun to play with. She told him that she could grant anything. Money, cars, women, and land. All of these could be his. Hyung Jin got greedy at the chance and wished to be the richest man in the world with women and land. Oh, Nyx did grant this and the next day, he had billions of dollars in his bank account that never seemed to run out. And as he went about being a famous tycoon, he was also corrupted by Nyx, which therefore explains his misdeeds. But there was a catch.

If he was to be the richest man in the world, he had to grant her conditions as well. His first child was to be a demigod and a child of hers. She would claim that child as hers when the child turns thirteen. Until then, she will never know she is a demigod. Hyung Jin agreed not knowing the consequences and Nyx left with a smirk on her face never to return until a few months later with a baby girl.

Hyung Jin had married a native of New York, Amanda Juliet Higgins. Amanda was a beautiful woman and had a great heart. She was a great mother as well. She had believed that Ellie was a daughter from a previous marriage and tried her best to be the best mother to her. Ellie as she grew up, grew closer to Amanda, and loved her with all her heart.

When Ellie was five years old, Amanda gave birth to a son named Alexander Julio Kim. Ellie was overjoyed and always played with Alex. But this was when everything started to go downhill.

Childhood {5-13}

At the age of 5, a few months after Alex was born, Amanda was diagnosed with leukemia. She no longer could look after Ellie and Alex and had to stay in bed. Hyung Jin tried to get all the treatment for her yet in the end, she died. Her last breath was to Ellie. She told Ellie to protect Alex no matter what and "Don't run away." Ellie never understood what her last words meant but promised that she would anyway. What she didn't know was that Amanda meant to tell her to embrace her destiny and not run away from it like what she's doing now.

Hyung Jin later learned that Nyx had caused her death because he had not followed her orders. He had disobeyed Nyx by not destroying one of his rival companies and instead merged with them. As an act of retribution, she caused the death of Amanda. Learning of this, not only did he blame Nyx for the death of his wife but Ellie as well for being the child of Nyx. He began to disregard Ellie and treat her like trash.

A few years later, when Ellie was ten years old, Hyung Jin remarried. His new wife was a show girl named Valerie Helen Newman. Valerie had nothing before until she met Hyung Jin. She seduced him and manipulated him to get what she wanted. Soon, she was holding million dollar Gucci bags and living in luxury. She was a gold digger and only married Hyung Jin for his money. 

She hated Ellie and Alex with a burning passion. She knew that if Hyung Jin ever died his wealth and assets would all go to Alex (for he was his favorite child) and Alex, like the kind soul he is, would definitely split it with his sister. She treated them horribly and forced them to do the deeds of the maids. She made them her personal slaves and commanded them to do unruly acts. 

Ellie protected Alex from all of this. She took the burden and did all the chores and commands for Alex. She made sure that Valerie would never lay a finger on Alex. And she made sure that Alex would never have to know about what Hyung Jin does behind the scenes. It was from then on, she began to detest her father and step-mother.

Teens {13-Current Age}

When Ellie turned thirteen, Nyx came to her in her form of herself. There were other times when Nyx came to visit Ellie but those were when she was younger and Nyx was always in disguise as a maid. At midnight, Nyx appeared to Ellie and told her of her true identity. She told Ellie that she was a demigod and a child of hers. And that from now on, she would have to leave home and go to Camp Half-Blood. 

Now there was a reason why Nyx claimed Ellie. Nyx had children before with mortals but she never claimed them because she didn't care for them. Ellie was the first child claimed by Nyx. Why? Well, Nyx was also an oracle who lived deep in the abyss of Tartarus. She had a vision once about a prophecy and that her child would be a part of it. Excited and intrigued by this, she researched more about this prophecy and realized that the child must be a demigod. She secretly ventured to Earth to search for the right man and found Hyung Jin. She saw his heart and found it easy to taint, which was why she allowed him a favor.

Nyx truly did care for Ellie. Even though Ellie didn't see it, Nyx was very motherly and overprotective over her child as seen with Hypnos. She watched over Ellie at night and tried everything she could to get the girl to accept her destiny and her as her mother. Even though Ellie would always brush her away, Nyx never gave up.

On that night, Nyx had forcefully grabbed Ellie's right wrist and burned a tattoo on her wrist to claim her as her child. Even though Nyx had told her about her identity, she implanted a tattoo on the child's wrist, which was also a magic infused seal that would transfer Nyx's power to her whenever Ellie needed it.

Now at Camp Half-Blood, there was never a child of Nyx and therefore there was no need to have a cabin for her. However, after Nyx claimed Ellie, the camp had to build a new cabin specifically for Nyx. The other gods and goddesses were intrigued by this and were rather shocked by Nyx's sudden claim. 

When Reed Piper came to Ellie to Camp Half-Blood, she was joined by three other girls and one boy. Reed Piper describes the journey as a horrible and intense one for Ellie always attracted dark beasts and vultures that they would have to fend off with great difficulty. The others had also attracted monsters with them but the monsters that Ellie attracted which were mostly from the underworld and very occasionally Tartarus would scare the hell out of the other monsters.

When Ellie was at Camp Half-Blood, she was immediately despised by the children of Zeus who held a grudge against her (Explained in trivia). While most of the children of Zeus avoided her, the Bellatoni twins (fraternal), Jenny and Jared, always bothered her. Jenny would always say something spiteful to her and Jared would always try to flirt with her. Ellie didn't care but she had a limit. Most of the time she would avoid them and like Nyx who had to try and stay calm in front of Zeus, she had to try and stay calm in front the Bellatoni twins who were ironically enough the children of Zeus.

Now during her three year stay at Camp Half-Blood, Ellie hated it. She would skip training regularly and find a way to escape from missions. Not many people talked to her except for her circle of friends like Tiffany, Soo Young, Jessica, and Tao but then again, she was still an outcast. 

Zelo and Ellie were a whole different story. Zelo had gotten to know Ellie and was the first person on camp other than the demigods she was escorted with to talk to. And slowly he gained her trust. Where ever Ellie went, he would follow and he was always teased for his obvious crush on her. Whenever she would run away from camp, he was the one who followed her and made sure that she would come back. And Zelo is the only one who has seen Ellie's soft side. The side that always wants to cuddle. Currently, he is her boyfriend.

Strengths:

• Unusual ability to blend with the night or darkness (Due to her parentage)
• Persuasiveness (Keen ability of persuasion that she learned from her escapades and gained from her mother)

• Short temper (Her fuse is extremely short even though it seems unlikely that she'll get angry at all though some say she gets it from her mother who always seems to be bursting in maternal fury, considering that her children are always causing trouble somewhere)
• Not one to take advice from others (She may be great at giving advice but taking it from someone other than her...hah...)
• Horrible at aiming for longer distances (She can never throw an object perfectly if they are more than 2 ft away from her hence the reason why she excels in close combat)
• Stubbornness (It's not necessarily a thing that is bad or good but most of the time, she'd rather listen to herself and her instincts than follow someone else)
• Little brother (She hates her parents but she has a soft spot for her little brother)
• Worst cook ever (Just...don't...unless you want to die young I really suggest-no, I command you to never let her cook; she believes she can cook really well)

• The news/The press (She doesn't give a damn about current happenings and hates the press because of their pseudo-stories about not only her family but about matters around the world)

Trivia: 

• ​The children of Zeus don't get along with her very well since their godly parent, Zeus, had a little misunderstanding with Nyx. It started during the Trojan War. When Athena and Hera had asked Hypnos, the minor god of sleep and child of Nyx, to put Zeus to sleep so that the gods can fight. Hypnos had once put Zeus to sleep for Hera when she wanted to cause trouble for Heracles. Zeus was furious and wanted to smite Hypnos. However, Hypnos ran to his mother, Nyx, in fear, and therefore, Zeus, fearing to anger Nyx, begrudgingly held his anger at bay. Hypnos disturbed Zeus a few times after that but he always ran back to Nyx, who would confront Zeus with a maternal fury. 
• Her favorite weapon is her black shadow daggers, given to her by Nyx, and the disguises for them are two similar keychains. (see topic description and subtopic weapons)

• Whenever she wakes up from a dream, she would travel out of Camp Half-Blood to this hillside where you can view the moon and the stars from above. She would lay there and fall asleep there. Sometimes, she calls out to her wolves using a special whistle meant for wolves and they would join her. She would converse with them as if they were normal people and continue doing that until she falls asleep; the wolves will stay with her and guard her. Only Zelo knows about this place and sometimes he'll join her.

As a famous tycoon, what the media saw was that he did good things legally but what was truthfully underneath it was all the criminal deeds and unlawful acts all conducted by him. He also favored Alex more than Ellie.

She knew that despite being the wife of Hyung Jin, if he died, all his wealth would go to Alex. Whenever Hyung Jin wasn't around, she'd treat the two children like her own personal slaves, commanding them to do chore after chore.

He isn't a demigod by the way. He was just a normal human. Ellie made sure he didn't see the bad side of everything and always tried to hide certain things from him that might dampen his spirits. She also didn't tell him that she had to leave for Camp Half-Blood so he thinks that she's just going overseas for her studies.

Ellie didn't think that Soo Young and she would get along but surprisingly they clicked. And she could always count on Soo Young to be the smile princess she was. Sometimes, just speaking to Soo Young made Ellie feel better. She is a child of Demeter. She has long, wavy black hair that she inherited from Demeter.

Jessica was everything Ellie wasn't. Jessica yearned for sweat on her skin but Ellie abhorred it. Jessica preferred training and hunting while Ellie preferred to sit down and relax. But they clicked extremely well. Jessica was the one to push Ellie to do adventurous and thrilling activities that Ellie sweared that she might have lost half of her life doing whatever crazy idea Jessica suggested. When Ellie needed a pep talk, Jessica is the best pep talker ever. She is a huntress for Artemis but not really a child*.

Tiffany was a great person to converse with. She was extremely social and had great opinions on many topics. Ellie and Tiffany would always be seen discussing a certain topic or various topics animatedly. Tiffany had wise advice as well and was educated in the arts and sciences. She is a child of Athena. So, she has inherited Athena's grey eyes.

- She first met Tao when she first arrived at Camp Half-Blood. He along with two other girls was just like her. They had discovered that they were demigods. Tao was cynical and snide, always having a sarcastic retort in mind. He was a lazy and as straight forward as a needle. He looked like he never smiled and you could never tell whether he was joking or whether he was being serious. Ellie and Tao seemed like they hated each other but in reality, that's their relationship. Always throwing snide remarks back and forth, sometimes it could get out of hand and would require Soo Young to step in. But that didn't mean that Ellie didn't care for Tao. She did and so did he. He is a child of Hades. So, he has Hades' black hair and pale skin.

- She first met Ellie at Camp Half-Blood. She didn't hate Ellie at the start but after discovering that she was a child of Nyx, she despised her. As explained in the trivia, she hated Ellie because of her mother. And in Camp Half-Blood, there was never a cabin for Nyx until Ellie arrived and there had to be one. The reason is explained in background. Jenny thought that she shouldn't be here at all. She always had a spiteful comment to make about Ellie's hair, clothes, and so on and so forth. Her fraternal twin was Jared Bellatoni and she is a child of Zeus. Out of all the children of Zeus, the Bellatoni twins always caused Ellie the most trouble.

He's always seen trying to get Ellie alone or trying to flirt with her. Ellie finds men like him disgusting and disgraceful especially since he is a child of Zeus, a great god. She would always find a way to avoid him. Jenny is his fraternal twin sister.

- He first met Ellie when she first arrived at Camp Half-Blood. He had already been there ever since he was ten. He was greatly intrigued by her and especially since she had such shiny charcoal black hair which made her pale skin stand out. He thought she was a child of Hades at first but learned later on, after he found out that they were constructing a new cabin, that she was a child of Nyx. He was the first person on camp to talk to her other than the other four who joined at the same time as her. He slowly got closer to her and started having romantic feelings for her. He confessed when he was fifteen and so far they've been in a relationship for over a year. He joins Ellie on a lot of her little escapades away from camp and he also keeps trying to convince her to let him meet her mother. He's very quirky and has very interesting ways to make Ellie laugh. He truly does love Ellie and gets very worried for her whenever he finds her moody the next day after meeting her mother for some issues. He enjoys stealing kisses from her and cuddling to her side. He is a child of Poseidon but he doesn't have the green eyes of Poseidon. Instead, he had the black hair and tan skin from Poseidon. But Ellie influenced him so he usually dyed his hair as well.

Scenes Suggestions/Comments: I separated the details out so it'll be easier for you to look up a certain thing if you needed to. I hope you don't mind. Oh and I made up a few stuff so I hope you don't mind as well.

Oh god, it was so hard to write this. Why must my favorite goddess be Nyx? It was hard to write because Nyx doesn't actually appear in the books at all. And she has no cabin so I had to create some twisted story to fit it. I hope you don't mind.

And scene suggestions? I have a few but if I have more I'll probably add it here and then PM you.

• Zelo would usually steal a kiss or two from her everyday but one day, he decided not to and Ellie wasn't used to it. She gets frustrated and ends up stealing a make out session of her own. (I didn't know she had it in her)
• Ellie argues with Nyx about the dreams she keeps on getting and gets so fed up that she fights with Nyx.
• Ellie scares the hell out of people by appearing out of nowhere when she has been standing there ever since the start of the conversation.
• Slowly, Ellie realizes her mother's words and finds that she has no choice but to embrace her destiny. Even though she is a bit reluctant to, she comes to enjoying being a demigod. Because of this, her other powers reveal themselves and she finally gets her wings.
• She meets Poseidon who immediately starts calling her daughter-in-law.
• Nyx and she spend some mother and daughter bonding time.

*Because Jessica is a huntress for Artemis, she is immortal. And she can't fall in love as well.
