Style: She hates to dress up. Especially for those stupid Imperial Army dinners that they have once in a while to commemorate the efforts of their soldiers. She would rather wear her canvas jacket and black top with jeans. High heels are the killers. She can mind the dresses, the suffocating makeup and headache of a hair dos, but she will never wear high heels in her life. She would rather wear ballet flats but then again, she would rather wear her favorite sneakers. Most of the time (when she doesn't have to dress up), she'll stick with a jacket and a top with jeans along with her sneakers. If she had to dress up, she would wear something that wasn't too revealing and revolting. Something like a white dress or a plain black dress. (Since it's way into the future, I tried to look for a little more sophisticated fashion.)

Personality:

The Good:

Hwa Young was a pacifist. She hated war after what it had done to her family. She didn't enjoy fighting and arguing and always tried to be the peacemaker in the group. She preferred life over death and aimed to save anyone in need which explains her position in the Imperial Army. It didn't mean that she wouldn't fight for her family or country. However, she tried to find a way out of the fighting with reasoning.

She was caring and soft-hearted. She had a decisive mind so she made quick decisions. She was slow to anger and had great control over her emotions. She was calm and collected in contrast to her brother. But she was passionate in her beliefs so she made sure to work extra hard on the battlefield to ensure the soldiers' safety. (She would rather show it with her actions than her words). She was obedient. And she was an open-minded person who considered all possibilities. Maybe that's why she was a pacifist. She knew that not everyone was bad or good.

Generally, what other's would see was a happy and cheerful girl despite her calm and collected demeanor. Yes, she was a little shy and quiet but she was a delightful child to be around with unlike her brother. She could hold a conversation better than her brother and she was mature for her age. Always smiling, she attended to the soldiers with words of encouragement and a light heart. She enjoyed her work and was a hard-worker. You could say she was the Florence Nightingale of Jaeseop.

Many would say she had a beautiful heart and her eyes saw a world different from others. Her presence was a calming hum like a lullaby and that one who was stressed would immediately feel slightly better with her presence around in contrast to her brother. And she was rather likeable and amiable, always willingly to lend a helping hand to one in need. Also, animals and babies just love her. Maybe because she has a good heart.

The Bad:

Hwa Young was a pacifist. Now, this was a good trait. Yes. However, it was a bad trait as well. Hwa Young was known for being a pacifist in the Imperial Army. It was no secret. Some felt the same way, some didn't bother, and some despised her. Hwa Young wasn't an oblivious girl so she knew who were her enemies and who were her friends. The high ranked generals and some of the older soldiers despised her beliefs. She refused to fight. She refused to retaliate. And she refused to do anything that included war other than healing. If it wasn't for her exceptional healing skills, they would have either executed her or kicked her out. But her skills were just too good to pass up and waste so she was spared.

Her kindness would be her downfall. She has heard many say that the battlefield is no place for kind hearted civilians and only the heartless of them all could survive. Even though she made quick decisions, she was stubborn and utterly hard to convince. And it also didn't mean she made the right decisions all the time. She wasn't irrational but she was firm in her beliefs too much. She was too obedient. She was too submissive. Almost to the point of a lost puppy.

She wasn't a leader and she always needed someone to tell her to do stuff or someone to teach her. Yes, she maybe calm and collected and slow to anger. But angered to a point of no return, she loses control of her emotions and gets taken over by her alter ego. (In The Ugly)

The Ugly:

Her alter ego was the non-pacifist side of her. The part that she would have become if she had not seen what war had done to her family. This was the side that she hid from everyone including her family. Very rarely will she try to break out but when she does, all the hidden anger gets released and she will lose complete control over her actions and mind. Her alter ego is called Ha Yong. (Note: Yong is with an 'Yo' in Hangul. Young is actually written with a 'Yeo' in Hangul.)

She was a coward. She hated fighting. She was a pacifist. And she was a coward. She would never run out into the battlefield to save someone. She would never shoot an enemy who would kill her. She would never sacrifice herself for someone else. She loved life too much and was too selfish to let go. She would run away from any task that included war. She was also afraid to speak out for her beliefs even though it was clear through her actions. She would never hold a protest to stop the war. And she would never rebel since she was afraid of the emperor's wrath in contrast to her brother.

Her open mind was a problem too. Yes, she was open to all possibilities and opinions. But her open mind also made her trust someone too easily. She wasn't really gullible but she just trusted too easily. Since she needed someone to rely on, she always put her trust on someone so much that it would almost seem as if she was burdening this person with a huge responsibility.

The Surroundings:

What district is she from?: Capitol City

How has that impacted her?:

For her whole life she was sheltered, being the only daughter of the family. But she was surrounded by many close-minded people who all thought the Union were out to get their perfect emperor. She has never seen the outskirts of the city before and has never encountered anyone beyond the Elite District. She was closed in all her life but she desperately wants to escape her prison and see the world which is why she managed to work her way to the Imperial Army despite her father's wishes. She never believed all the talk about the Union and in way she envied their freedom. However it didn't mean that she trusted the Union. She didn't trust them but she never judged them since she hasn't met a Union Rebel yet.

How does her District contribute to her personality?:

If you look at it in a way, it does contribute to her personality. Now, you might disagree and say what's a pacifist doing in the Imperial Army and born in Capitol City? Well, the fact that all her life she has been sheltered and cared for like a weak lamb has an effect on her position in the Imperial Army. Yes, most of the citizens living in the Elite District or High-Class District are brainwashed to believe that their emperor is a hero. But Hwa Young is the very few percentage who thinks the other way.

She wants to be free. She wants to escape that little sheltered prison of her's to see the outside world like the Poor District. Why? Because since she heard from many that the Poor District couldn't afford to do this and that and that they are savages, she wants to see them for herself yet she is afraid that she will get caught and sentenced to death. This contributes to her open mindedness and cowardliness.

And the fact that everyone (in my opinion) are busy and moving around so much in the Elite and High Class Districts, this makes Hwa Young a quick-thinker who can think on her feet. Her upbringing also forges her calm and collected personality (explained in background). Then again, the fact that she was nurtured to be obedient and submissive is bad because she created an alter ego of herself.

The Backstory:

How was her childhood:

Lee Hwa Young was born into a family of two parents and two older brothers. She was a part of a happy and cheerful family. She was spoiled and nutured to be a lady. Ever since young, Hwa Young was home-schooled and she was sheltered with love and care. Each and every one of her caretakers taught her manners and grace. Her father intended for her to grow into a beautiful young lady whom he could then send to anyone of the universities, most preferably The Choi School of Acting and Entertainment. Hwa Young took her lessons obediently despite how much she dreaded them.

What happened in her life that lead her to this point:

When Hwa Young was at the age of twelve years old, her oldest brother, Lee Tae Hwan, was recruited into the Imperial Army after graduating from Jaeseop University in the top percentile. He was about to turn twenty while her second oldest brother, Lee Hwan Hee, was about to turn seventeen. Tae Hwan was a handsome, young and intelligent man who was fit to be in the Imperial Army. As a top graduating student, he was placed in one of the top squadrons. He was what you would call the perfect guy. Hottie, gentleman, Charismatic and Smart all in one man. He was very popular indeed and he was loved by everyone.

However, one day, without any warning whatsoever sent to the family, he was executed for treason against the emperor. Hwa Young was having piano lessons at home, Hwan Hee was out having fun with his friends, her mother, Kim In Na, was baking cookies in the kitchen and her father, Lee Min Soo, was at an important meeting for the generals. They had received the news after a family friend had informed them about the execution of their son.

A wave of emotions hit the family. Min Soo no longer laughed heartily like before and he became a cold and strict man who focused his time in the military. It seemed as if his son's death never affected him but it was all a mask. Her mother went into deep depression and killed herself. Hwan Hee was enraged and infuriated by this. And observing his father's careless actions, made him even angrier and he despised his father. Hwa Young felt distraught and she couldn't continue with her lessons properly with the though that Tae Hwan won't be smiling at her mistakes as she walked with that stupid book on her head.

This caused the family to break apart. While her father had no choice but to fully support the Imperial Army, Hwan Hee had run away to join the Union Rebels. He had a suspicion that the Imperial Army and the emperor were hiding secrets from the citizens and they were using this war to cover up their horrible deeds. And this caused her father to disown his son. Hwa Young was at a loss. She couldn't decide to choose which side. Both were her family and she loved them both but she couldn't bear to see her brother be hunted down by her father or the other way around.

This was the moment Hwa Young hated war. She despised it for breaking her family apart. She became into a pacifist. But instead of shying away from the war, she wanted to help. She decided to try to get into Goran School of Science and Technology and graduate with a major in medicine. She wanted to be a team medic. The funny thing though is that she would never and I repeat never ever step on to the battlefield. She would rather stay behind the lines and save soldiers then fight on the front lines and die.

Any Extra Background Info:

She was supposed to be married away to a young general before she joined the Imperial Army. She was closer with Tae Hwan than Hwan Hee but she loves them both dearly. She never wanted to be an actress yet she was unclear of how her future would turn out. Her father was a great general in the Imperial Army and her mother was a famous actress before she retired and married.

How did she come to join the Union/Imperial Army:

She had taken the entrance exams in secret (eventually her father found out). She wasn't exactly top three but she was fourth place in the exam. She had displayed tremendous first aid and knowledge about medicine that despite a few careless mistakes on the written exam, she managed to make fourth place. After studying mercilessly (and getting a lecture from her father), she managed to graduate top of the class with a score that no one has ever made (except for some Yoo Young Jae guy who went AWOL after joining the Imperial Army). Of course, with such a high score, the Imperial Army had recruited her and she became the head medic and the team medic for the highest ranking squad in the Imperial Army, Squadron One.

What are her goals for her military career:

  • She wants to help many wounded soldiers and try to save them.
  • She wants to travel and see the Poor Districts.
  • She also wants to find out why her brother was killed. (Secret Goal)
  • She wants to meet Hwan Hee because after he run away, she never saw him again.
  • She wants to show her father that she wasn't a caged bird.

The DNA:

Lee Min Soo| 44 | General in Imperial Army |Alive | Cold, Wise, Aloof, Secretly Cares, Entitled to Duty

Kim In Na  | 40 | Retired Actress; Housewife | Dead | Motherly, Boisterous, Cheerful, Loving, Quirky

Lee Tae Hwan  | 20 | Ex-Leader of Squadron Three | Dead | Gentleman, Considerate, Young, Mature, Calm

Lee Hwan Hee  | 22 | Union Rebel; Foot Soldier | Alive | Boisterous, Opinionated, Rebellious, Temperamental, Overprotective

Importance of Family Members?:

Her whole family inspired her to join. Her father's cold and callous ways inspire her to show him that she can take care of herself (after all he still treats her like a kid). Her mother's death inspired her. It was the start of her breaking family. Her brother's death sparked her curiosity. Hwan Hee joining the rebels broke the family into two sides. She saw what war did to her family and she hated it thus her pacifist beliefs and her position as medic.

Pets:

Breed: Siberian Husky

Name: Aaron (Means Light-Bringer)

Pic:

Personality:

Aaron was like the light to Hwa Young's life. She met him at the Union Rebel as he was starving and took him in. He is a cheerful and hyper active puppy who loves to , roll around, run, and playfully bite others. When he does something wrong and Hwa Young comes hollering for him, he'll cover his eyes with his paws in an attempt to hide himself. Sometimes he just loves to run around trying to see his tail. Hwa Young likes to compare him to her other dog at home who was two worlds apart. He would also Jong Up and Hwa Young a lot. Like a lot. No joke.

Breed: Bernese Mountain Dog

Name: Alexios (Means Defender)

Pic:

Personality:

Alexios was different. He was older than Aaron and by far, the most calm and relaxed dog ever. He would never overreact and he would never cause trouble. He was truly obedient and loyal to Hwa Young. His past with her was when he was a young puppy and she had saved him from bad men who wanted to beat him up (actually Tae Hwan kicked their asses but...). Then, he had defended Hwa Young from getting hit by one of the men and that was how he got his name. When she was missing, he would wait at the door patiently for her. The three other people he trusted was Hwan Hee, Min Ah, and Changjo. Changjo was the one who would take care of him when Hwa Young was missing.

The Best Friend:

The Name: Han Min Ah

The Occupation: Chemist; Gossip Monger

The Basic Personality:

Han Min Ah was the basic gossip girl. She loved gossip and if you had any, you'd be better off telling than risking your life through excruciating torture. Anyways, she was boisterous and loud and she reminded Hwa Young a lot about Hwan Hee. Min Ah was a no-bull- girl and when she wanted something, she will get it. She is extremely curious and other than that, one heck of a best friend. She didn't know that Hwa Young was a pacifist though.

The way they act together:

She and Hwa Young were polar opposites. While Hwa Young was calm and collected, she was loud and emotional. But then again, they were like sisters and Min Ah acted more like a mother than a best friend. She would question every guy, female, dog, living thing, and non-living thing if they had something to do with Hwa Young. Basically she didn't want her to be hurt.

The Attractive Comrade:

The Name: Choi Jong Hyun

The Good Parts:

Choi Jong Hyun was enthusiastic and cheerful though he was a bit shy. He was always there to care for Hwa Young whenever she would overwork herself. He was sweet and naive. But he was like that secret admirer. Hwa Young never knew who was that mysterious guy who would leave ointment for her when she hurt herself or extra bandages when she was out. She never knew who would leave behind little notes of encouragement for her. She just didn't know. Changjo secretly cared for her a lot. Oh, and she loves his humor because he makes her laugh at unexpected times.

The Bad Parts:

Whenever she was around, he would act cold and callous. He wouldn't show any care towards her and she always felt like he was just pushing her around. Squadron One knew that she was a pacifist but they didn't bother her about it except for Changjo who didn't understand why she was a pacifist. He would make fun of her for it and even insult her about it. But on the inside he really hated doing that. He hated her at first actually. It was through slowly getting to know each other did he then possess a liking towards Hwa Young. Still, his pride wouldn't let him confess and that's why he keeps up this front around her. Even though he is cheerful and enthusiastic.

He was also close-minded and judgmental, quite like the normal Elite or Higher Class. This conflicts with Hwa Young's open mindedness. While he sees the Union as nothing but their enemy and a bunch of losers, Hwa Young sees the Union as something more. She believes that they are fighting for their own rights however he believes that they are fighting because they are jealous of the life the Elites and the Higher Class live. They get into arguments a lot.

He is extremely selfish. He only did stuff for his own well-being. Like joining Jaeseop University without the care of his parents feelings. Wanting the glory, wanting to be a soldier. These are his wants. And he will get them. He doesn't care about other's feelings, he just cares about his own well-being.

The Best Parts:

Even though he is close minded and judgmental, she can see that he cares for his teammates. Even though he had just newly joined into Squadron One, he was already treating them like brothers. Even though he isn't sweet and nice to her, she enjoys watching Squadron One interact as if they were normal people and not military trained recruits. There are some times when he forgets to be mean to Hwa Young and ends up showing his caring side. Hwa Young then concludes that he is bipolar...okay... But he really cares for her and she just doesn't know it because he doesn't want her to know that it is him because he is a freaking coward who won't up his pride and admit his feelings for her! Grr... (Not much on the best part since their relationship is like secret admirer kind of thingy)

The Meeting:

They first met when Changjo joined the Squadron. Hwa Young had joined only three months ago so she was willing to help him but she was brushed off like lint on a piece of fabric. Apparently, someone outside of the squadron had told him that the team medic was a pacifist and he didn't like pacifists (since he was all for war). She was disappointed and angered so she avoided him a lot. But of course, due to a squad meeting, they had to learn how to get along.

As it stands:

At first, they are like cats and dogs. Incessant arguing every day. Slowly they start to work together a little better than before but they still argue. Hwa Young considers him a friend  whereas Changjo likes her a lot..

First to Fall: Changjo falls first.

How does it happen:

When C.A.P strictly told them that they had to learn how to get along, both of them were all out against it. Left with no option, Changjo and Hwa Young had no choice but to try to get along by getting to know each other and working together as a team. As a result, Hwa Young doesn't find him that bad and Changjo comes to like her a bit more. After a close situation in battle (where the Union manages to get behind the lines and ambush camp), Changjo feels that flip flopping in his heart and he knew it was her. After that, he started secretly caring for her.

Scene Suggestions:

  • They argue about the war (pacifist vs. patriot).
  • Changjo gets hurt and Hwa Young tends to him while he grumbles about being cared for. At that time when he's complaining, Hwa Young smacks a huge band aid on his mouth and tells him to shut up nicely.
  • Squadron One realizes that the camp has been ambushed and rush back to help. Changjo rushes back frantically because he is concerned about Hwa Young. Hwa Young is almost killed by an exploding grenade while trying to evacuate the camp and at the same time calm her fears. He saves her in the nick of time by pushing both of them out of the way. Hwa Young loses consciousness and Changjo, enraged, tries to find the grenade thrower. He successfully kills the Union Rebel who threw the grenade and carries Hwa Young out of the camp to the medics.
  • Changjo feels guilty and avoids Hwa Young while she wants to thank him for saving her. Everyday, when she isn't awake, he will sneak in and watch her sleep then leave something for her or a note. He begins to do this on a regular basis even after she has recovered.
  • Changjo tries to find Hwa Young again when the Union do a second ambush on their camp. This time the Union returns with a larger force. He ends up getting pushed farther and farther away from her and they lose each other in the end. However Hwa Young chances upon a wounded Union Rebel whom she takes pity on and tries to save.
  • Changjo and Hwa Young meet again after Hwa Young was taken by Union Rebels. But he doesn't know it's her because she was disguised. They met again in the Capitol City when Hwa Young follows Gong Jae Rin back home to spy (and she wanted to see her family and Squadron One). Oblivious that he had met her, they begin spending the day together with Changjo trying to find out her identity and Hwa Young trying to savor her time she has with Changjo (whom she had deemed a very good friend).
  • On a second visit to the Capitol City, Hwa Young finds Changjo drunk and sitting on a bench in a deserted park. She tries to drag him to his home when he stops her and in a drunk stupor, tells her how much he loved Hwa Young. He doesn't know that he was actually confessing to her but Hwa Young was shocked. Pushing aside her conflicted emotions, she drags him to his home after he fainted and left him on his bed (after picking his lock with the skills she learnt from the Union).

The y Enemy:

The Name: Moon Jong Up

The Good Parts:

He's caring, sweet and Mr. nice guy. You can never deny this cutie pie. He's just so kind and Hwa Young appreciates his help whenever she needs it. He was the only one who showed her care and gave her food when the Union Rebels were interrogating her. He changed her bandages, fed her, gave her water, and spoke to her. After gaining the trust of the Union Rebels, she and Jong Up were very close. She could always depend on him for something and he didn't seem to mind the amount of trust she put into him. He was considerate and a gentleman even though he could be slightly awkward at times.

He reminded her so much of Tae Hwan. He was exactly like him. Other than being nice and cute, Jong Up was the only one who stood up for her when she was mistreated in the Union Camp. Because she wasn't trusted since she was from the Imperial Army, he defended her by saying that she helped him when he needed it. Jong Up was easy to talk to. You could drone on and on about peas and corn and yet he would still listen to you. He had great amounts of patience and positivity.

The Bad Parts:

He was too kind to the point of annoyance. He couldn't see when a person didn't need help. As much as Hwa Young would try to placate him, sometimes she couldn't take it anymore and would tell him that she didn't need his help. He didn't allow her to be independent which was something she wanted to become. He wasn't dumb but it took a little bit more explaining to get it into his noggin.

He was quick to anger again. Yes, he had tremendous amounts of patience. Yet he still had a limit and a breaking point. And that happens when something close to him is hurt. The only weirdest thing is that he'd continue smiling even though he's angry which is why Hwa Young relates him to a puzzle. She doesn't always believe that he is very happy and kind. She believes that sometimes he acts that way because he doesn't want people to be burdened with his problems that's why he helps others and puts on a smile all the time. Even when he is close to death, he smiles. She doesn't like how he doesn't show his true emotions. It makes her feel bad, like she's being lied to.

He is a slight klutz but Hwa Young thinks it's adorable and funny at the same time though...

The Best Parts:

He understood her and her beliefs too. He understood her pacifist ways and always covered her eyes and ears whenever violence happened in front of her. His consideration was the most appreciative quality of his. He didn't necessarily have an open mind but he was curious like her. He wondered what the Elite districts looked like, the universites, the palace, and everything else. That innocent and curious nature of his is adorable to her.

She loved his smile. Yes, she knew he put on fake smiles sometimes but when he genuinely smiled, it was breathtaking. She loved it when he was truthfully happy. He was just a ball of positivity and she really needed his positivity when she was captured by the Union. She thanked him for being the light of her dark world when she was captured.

The Meeting:

He was the Union Rebel she saved. After losing sight of Changjo, she decided to wander around to hopefully meet back with the Imperial Army but she had unknowingly stumbled into Union Rebel territory. She had found him leaning on a rock and clutching his stomach that was gushing out waterfalls of blood. Jong Up was wounded in battle and after the forces of the Imperial Army had lessened, he had taken his chance and retreated back to camp to seek medical aid. But he was growing exhausted and with the loss of blood, he doubted that he was going to make it. After accepting his fate, he leaned on the rock waited for his death.

At this very moment, Hwa Young had chanced upon him and was horrified to find him bleeding to death. She immediately tended to him (without her tools so that means tearing her clothes). She worked feverishly to save him while Jong Up had passed out from too much blood loss. After attempting to stop the blood loss for a while, she immediately tried to look for help. She carried the passed out Jong Up on her back while walking around, trying to find help. Note that she isn't physically fit so she will definitely be tired easily. However her determination kept her going.

Just when she was about to give up, she came across some Union Rebels who looked like they were looking for someone and immediately alerted them. Despite helping Jong Up, she was captured and brought to camp and mistreated for she was part of the Imperial Army (she was wearing the uniform).

As it stands:

You might mistake them for a couple at first glance since they act like one. Jong Up is always there for her and by her side while she's always smiling and chatting with him brightly. Jong Up is Hwa Young's only trusted and good friend in the Union whereas Hwa Young is Jong Up's best friend.

First to Fall: Hwa Young falls first.

How does it happen:

After she gets captured by the Union Rebels, she was interrogated and tortured. When she was held in a holding cell in captivity, Jong Up was the only one who would visit her, talk to her, give her food and water, and tend to her wounds. She was really grateful for his kindness but she could tell that upon the first meetings he was wary of her. After a while though, he became a little more open and trusted her a little more.

There was a meeting held to decide her fate. While she was in the holding cell oblivious of the meeting, the Union Rebels sat together and deliberated. Many wanted her dead, some wanted her to be tortured, others wanted her to be interrogated about the Imperial Army. However while the Union Rebels were pouring insult after insult at her, Jong Up spoke up for her and told them that she was different from any Imperial soldier. That she saved his life, and that she had an open mind about them. He begged for her to at least be let out of that cage and give her freedom to roam around. After an argument, the conclusion of the meeting was that she was free to roam but she must be with a guard at all times.

Finally she was released from the holding cell and allowed to join the Union Rebels for meals and walk around camp with a bodyguard by her side. Jong Up had volunteered to be her guard but she didn't know that. She was surprised to see him but happy anyway. At the first meal she had with the Union Rebels, they all sat away from her and eyed her with disgusted and hateful glares. She sat down quietly and ate her food slowly, thinking about her family and friends and Squadron One. She didn't expect anyone to sit with her when Jong Up had set his plate down in front of her and started eating. She was shocked and asked him why was he sitting with her (he was supposed to sit with the other B.A.P boys). He merely swallowed his food and replied with a goofy smile and a "I'm your guard aren't I?", which made her heart beat quicker.

For the many weeks, she was at the Union Rebel camp she saw what they saw and faced what they faced. She hated it but she had no choice but to learn how to defend herself. She had meekly asked Jong Up whether he could help her and he agreed. At this point, some of the Union Rebels were warming up to her but she was still despised. The children and animals of the camp loved her though. She would tend to their wounds and spend lots of time with them along with Jong Up. Throughout all of this, Hwa Young's feeling kept on growing and growing.

Until, one day, when Jong Up saves her from an exploding mine that was placed there by Imperial Army explosive experts, she realizes she loves him. That close proximity between them was overwhelming and her heart was rapidly thumping against her chest. While he didn't notice, Hwa Young was trying to hide her feelings.

Scene Suggestions:

  • Of course, the scene where she finds him wounded and tries to save him.
  • The many times he visits her cell to talk to her and to care for her.
  • The part where she meets the his friends (B.A.P) and he's all smiley and goofy as if he's introducing her to his parents. While he's acting like that, she was nervous and scared to hell on the inside.
  • She and Jaerin get to know each other and it turns out to be some kind of battle. Jaerin was testing her and Hwa Young thought she was trying to scare her. In the end, Jaerin won of course but not without getting outwitted by Hwa Young twice.
  • She tends to the wounds of B.A.P and compares them with Squadron One.
  • Jong Up gets slightly jealous after Zelo calls her noona and thanks her for treating his wound. Well that and because she blushed when he said it.
  • Jong Up gets jealous over Aaron as it keeps ing the both of them and taking Hwa Young's attention away from him.
  • Aaron, who was being carried by Zelo, ed Jong Up and Hwa Young as they were about to kiss.
  • Jong Up gets worried for her when she didn't return after 24 hours from the Capitol City. Jaerin was already back and she was missing. Everyone thought she betrayed them but she returned just in time and explained herself, giving the excuse of family and that's all. (This was the time she met Changjo in her disguise for the first time)
  • Jong Up and Changjo meet in battle and fight for a long time. Since both of them were deeply wounded, Hwa Young had a hard time choosing who to save. While she was trying to decide between the man who confessed and the man whom she loved, Changjo was dragged off the battlefield by Iseul.
  • Jong Up and Changjo meet again and this time Hwa Young wanted to stop the both of them so she reveals herself and stands in between them. She explains herself to Changjo. Changjo, shocked and heartbroken, retreats, leaving Squadron One who were in confusion.

The Others:

C.A.P: She is rather intimidated by him so she keeps her distance while C.A.P sees her as a great asset to the team (team medic). (Leader -> Member relationship)

Chunji: Even though her and Chang Jo argue a lot, Chun Ji and her are worse. She always seems to be the victim of his mischief, having to clean up after his mess. That and she finds him rather egotistical as he brags on and on about his intelligence. His favorite is when he compares her intelligence to him which is by far a huge difference. Though she does admire his strategic mind, she finds him annoying and complains a lot to C.A.P. (Frenemies Relationship)

L.Joe: She finds L.Joe really nice even though he is rather hot-headed. She asks him a lot about his district (she has never traveled out of the Elite District) in which to some questions he gladly answers or avoids. He's a mysterious figure. (Friends relationship)

Niel: He is probably the most likeable on the squad to her. He shared her views about peace and they got along rather well. He was fun to talk to and he was the first one to greet her whenever she entered their base or hideout. (Big brother relationship)

Ricky: Ricky and her weren't very close but they would still converse at times. He was another one who knew that she was a pacifist and so he would share about how much he hated betraying the poor people. Since he often visited the poor districts, she would ask him all sorts of questions about it in which he would try to answer. (Awkward Friends relationship)

Iseul: She's uncomfortable around her. Extremely uncomfortable and awkward around her. Iseul seems to want to get to know Hwa Young but she finds it hard to talk to her since they have different views. One's open-minded, the other's close-minded. And also, Hwa Young caught Iseul fangirling...yeah...awkward beyond infinity... But Hwa Young does want to be friends with her just that when she does, Iseul ends up either a) scaring the poor girl, b) yelling at the poor girl, or c) make the poor girl uncomfortable with her views on the war. And even though Iseul is extremely prideful, Hwa Young still treats her nicely and always tells her that if she needs a girl in the Squad to speak to, she can count on her since she's her unnie. They're really formal with each other but they have each other's backs when the going gets tough.

Yong Guk: If C.A.P intimidated her, Yong Guk frightened her without doing anything. He seemed so...so...stoic... Like he was hardened from the war. But then again after observing him a little bit more, he didn't seem that bad. And she was really kind to him too, so Yong Guk would occasionally ruffle her hair after she had nagged about his wounds and treated him. (Scary Big Brother relationship)

Himchan: She liked Him Chan the best excluding Jong Up of course. He would make her laugh and laugh and despite knowing she was from the Imperial Army, he was comfortable around her and one of the very first to welcome her into the Union Rebels. She realized that his face would change whenever she mentioned L.Joe in the conversation (since she found out he shared the same district as her). Anyways, whatever camp gossip he could gather he would share with the team and that included her. Of course not the top secret stuff but more like general stuff. He reminded her of Min Ah a lot. (Best Friends relationship)

Daehyun: Dae Hyun was cold towards her and she wondered why. To Dae Hyun, she was just like any other elite. She was going to betray them anyway. He found her annoying especially when she asked a lot about their districts. He didn't know it was a part of her personality. He was another who didn't accept her but over time, he does slowly at first. (Cold Strangers relationship)

Youngjae: He reminded her of Chun Ji and Hwan Hee a lot. He was cocky and arrogant and always there to correct her. She had never seen anyone more cockier than the King of Cocky himself *coughChunjicough*. She hasn't had a full conversation with Young Jae before however he enjoys teasing her whenever she makes a mistake or correcting her 'baseless' opinions (according to him and his oh so mighty intelligence). (I'm-more-superior-than-you-so-bow-before-the-mighty-me relationship)

Zelo: He was a little shy at first but he wanted to thank her for saving his hyung. And especially since he only saw that Jaerin was good, now that he saw the good in Hwa Young, he really wanted to thank her. When he finally got the courage to thank her, she blushed and stuttered out a 'No problem'. (It was her first time being thanked by a Union Rebel) Whenever Jaerin would be harsh on her, Zelo was the one who would step in and give an excuse for Jaerin, causing Jong Up to be slightly jealous of him. He adored her medical skills and keeps pleading her to teach him. (Noona -> Dongsaeng relationship)

Jaerin: At first, Jaerin doesn't really like her at all. I mean, she's a double agent so how can she be sure that Hwa Young isn't one either. That explains why she attacked Hwa Young when she first met her. However, the medic didn't have any bad intentions so she never landed a hit on Jaerin except for outwitting her so that she could escape. Hwa Young was shocked when Jaerin smiled at her after their little battle. ("That was some outwitting there, girl." "Um...no offense but it wasn't that hard..." "HAHAHA, OH MY GOD! DID YOU HEAR THAT?! THIS MEDIC OUTWITTED OUR LITTLE JAY TWICE?!" "Shut it, Young Jae." "I'm so so so so so sorry. I just didn't want to hurt you -well, I can't anyway, since I don't know how to fight  but...don't kill me!") After a while, Jaerin starts conversing with Hwa Young and learns many things about her life and how she turned out to be a medic and a pacifist. Truthfully, she thought that the girl was rather adorable and allowed her to call her unnie. She also brings Hwa Young along sometimes whenever she travels back to the city. And she thanked her for saving Jong Up too ("Thank you for saving my adorable Jong Uppie!" "Uh...it wasn't a big deal. I like to help people...like your adorable Jong Uppie..." "Are you always so awkward?" "..." "...")

The final thoughts: Are you deciding who we are ending up with? Because I *coughshipJongUpandcharacter* don't mind really. *innocent smile* Ugh, but really this is a real troll effort. I could have done better...*scowls*

The Outcome: She lives...because if I die I will cry tears over sorrow and I shall go into depression....Jking! :)

The Quote:  She likes to say "Fool..." or "Shut up..." to Changjo. She likes to say "I need your positivity now." or "Don't leave me ball of sunshine!" to Jong Up.

The Extras? Well...I might overwhelm you here... ;)
