personality » don't you dare do that! irissa-avalynn yang, you stop there this instant! i forbid you from entering that nightclub ever again! butler johnson, please lock the alcohol cabinet as well as the wine cellar! you need to stop smoking, dear, it's terrible for your lungs. how can you be on the cover of people's magazine, again?! that's her -- the troublemaking rebel who loves to party. iris is the world's biggest rebel -- her friends have always joked that in the dictionary, iris's picture would be next to the definition of the words "rebel", "mischievous", and "troublemaker". she's unpredictable and uncontrollable, with a huge love for fun. with her bright and social personality, she's the life of the party and brings a happy-go-lucky aura with her wherever she goes. iris is a "live in the moment" type of person; she believes in living life to the absolute maximum, which for her, means taking every daredevil risk there is. by the time she was sixteen, she had bungeed jumped three times, was certified to sky-dive alone, stood on the edge of a cliff just to get the right angle for a painting of a cactus, and probably tasted every type of alcohol known to man. she loves to have fun -- whether it would be from partying or from her mischievous pranks, as long as it brings her mood up, she loves it. iris cannot stand to be not happy. she's a determined person who will always try to adapt to her surroundings to make herself comfortable. she's an adaptable and flexible person with an open-mind for new experiences.

she may be a good person to party with, but iris is no doubt, reckless and careless. she never seems to think before she acts or speaks, which gets her into a lot of trouble with paparazzi, the law, and of course, her parents. iris has been arrested before for underage drinking, but with her family's power, of course she was immediately bailed out and her record expunged. she's a daredevil, but even iris doesn't know her own limit -- everyday, she'll be asking her friends to join her on a new crusade -- hiking up the steepest mountain in paris, infiltrating the buckingham palace to see the exclusive collection of art (which amazingly, didn't get her arrested but gave her a lovely tea appointment with the queen), and of course, partying like there's no tomorrow. iris is a rash person who never makes thoughtful decisions and is known for being so straightfoward that she's brutally honest. she's a social girl who loves to talk and communicate with everyone, which is probably why she's the one that gets all her friends into the most exclusive of grand openings, parties, etc. with her amazing connections.

underneath her social and rebellious attitude is an artistic and creative girl with a love for art, photography, the 50s and 60s, and anything vintage/retro. her life revolves around her art -- she will never leave the house without her sketchbook and her pack of expensive drawing pencils. when she's bored, she'll sketch, when she's happy, she'll sketch, when she's drunk, she'll sketch -- art is her life. because of her creative mind, she's also a very unique person who will never settle on doing something ordinary. during get-togethers at each other's house, iris will always concoct new games, new activities, and new drinks for her friends, and though sometimes they turn out awry, it's still fun.

she doesn't really like talking about her abduction. it's a memory she prefers to keep locked away. only her friends really know what happened and what she feels about it.
she started drinking very early -- at the age of thirteen. smoking came along when she was sixteen years old.
her love life has always been pretty ish -- she's had a lot of boyfriends and flings in her past. they rarely were actually serious.
when she was attending high school, she was actually in the top ten in her class, amazingly. she's not stupid, in fact, she's pretty smart, she just never applies herself.

life story » iris was born in beijing to a chinese mother and korean father. she was the heiress of the yang-world corporation as well as the eight cheri galleries around the world. at six months, her family moved to london, where she stayed for ten years. during her life there, she was homeschooled by private tutors in every subject imaginable -- math, science, history, language, french, culture, etiquette, ballroom dancing, fashion, art, etc. however, iris really every only liked art. and so, to appease their rebellious child, the yang parents employed some of the world's best artists to teach their daughter. and so, for ten years, every day, iris would finish her studies at noon and paint the rest of her days away. and then, came the move to new york. iris did not like that at all -- she loved england and its unpredictable weather, vintage feel, and soft accents. however, once she moved into manhattan, she fell in love all over again. in new york, iris was sent to a prestigious private school for middle school up till high school. at first, it was hard for her seeing that she's always been so sheltered from the outside world, but eventually, she made many friends and admirers from her social attitude, elite status, and extraordinary talent in art. as time went on, her parents became more and more busy, always on business trips and never home. her partying lifestyle started in an attempt to gain more attention from her parents -- it didn't work, but it stuck with her. drinking, smoking, and having a good time made her forget about the lack of love in her life. when she got to high school, her parents finally noticed, but by then, it was too late. they couldn't control her anymore -- they tried sending her to an all-girls school, to rehab, and even to her grandparent's house in shanghai, but nothing worked. they never gave up, but they watched their daughter grow into a troublemaker and rebel party-goer with a love for mischief. when she graduated high school, they decided they had had enough.

kpop » iris is one of those pick-and-choose k-pop listeners. she's very open-minded to most things cultural and has a love for a few k-pop groups. she really only listens to big bang, 2ne1, jj-project, and the movement.

the sweet life » she loved it. access to the nation's most elite and exclusive night-clubs, shopping daily in gangnam, eating at super-exclusive restaurants with her friends, painting endlessly in her penthouse with a view of the city's skyline, etc.

downfall of us » iris flipped, naturally. she's never been a day without endless money and partying. all of sudden, she's being thrown into a world where she can't party every day, shop everyday, and worst of all, paint/photograph everyday. her world literally ended, well, she's dramatic at times. iris didn't adjust very well for a while -- she was so used to having everything handed over to her and not getting punished when she did something wrong. with the fact that now she had to provide for herself, it was hard for her. it was so bad that the day she heard about it, iris went out to a very expensive bar and drank over a thousand dollars worth of expensive alcohol. she collapsed due to alcohol poisoning and her friends had to fly to the hospital because they were so worried when the doctor said that she was in "critical condition".

why oh why? » iris was too rebellious. she partied every night like there was no tomorrow, constantly was on tabloid covers for her underage drinking habits, shopped without a care in the world, and never once thought of securing her future. she was spoiled rotten, even though she didn't know it and never listened to a word her parents said. in the end, they were so sick of it. they wanted iris to experience life as a common, average, middle-class working woman and how to build her way up like they did.

part-time job(s) » iris, after getting wasted and having to be taken to the hospital by her worried friends after she heard the news, tried her best to adapt. she got a job at a little cafe in apgujeong called lace&chiffon owned by a nice ahjumma who was more than willing to teach her how to bake and be a barista. besides working at the cafe on the weekends, iris also found a job as an art assistant at her university. she helps the art administrator every day after school for three hours.
