About Mortality and All That Jazz

(the first part)

i know this is supposed to be part of a collection/compilation/antology (i still don't know how to refer to 'star collector') and yet this is the first part. the reason is that this, as well as part ii, can be read separately. although they will be kind of conected, each story has a different focus. one thing: both are creepy.

and talking about creepy. i don't know what i was trying to accomplish with this story. the beginning is dull, but i think it gets better as the story progresses. i've never written thriller/suspense before, and i was trying to build some tension before the end. kind of an opposite of the calm mtl, ltf. it's the kind of contrast i want to create between my stories.

woohyun freaks me out on this one, but not as much as i think he will on the second part.

i hope the end of the story was clear enough. the ambiguity from my stories get to the point to be confusing. woohyun wasn't supposed to be like that at first, and when i started writing this one-shot, the pace was kind of dull and …nah, it was simply dull. but then i started writing with suspense background music (because although the one-shot is based/influenced by/on a song, i still use other resources) and everything started taking shape. the themes i treated were too dark for my liking, and because they're somewhat sensitive, i tried to make it as subtle as possible.

also, there was no woogyu on this one-shot ;_; but there's no way i included sunggyu without leaving loose ends. hopefully that will never happen again, and i'll never get to write something as dark as this

(except part ii, that is.)
