della's mubank - 6

"Please me, the lover I'm unable to meet forever."

Hello! It's Della, back with another mubank.

The song I'll be highlighting today is "月蝕 Lunar Eclipse" by Super Junior. It comes from their sixth Japanese single that was a counterpart to their seventh Korean album, Mamacita, released in 2014.

It's a gentle, yet melancholic strings-and-piano based ballad. Listening to the instrumental alone makes me think of gazing at the night sky from the balcony of a moonlit palace. The mournful violin that kicks off the start of the song really sets the mood strong, and the piano adds a classical, deep touch. I also really enjoyed the additions to the song in the chorus (snapping, flourishes of notes). It better accentuates this change for me, as the lyrics switch from lamenting their loss to truly desiring for their loved one to come back, with their mind is drifting off to daydreams and memories.

I feel like a broken record, but I just love how the bridge gets so much more dramatic, with Kyuhyun voicing its . The melody he sings on "tonight" fills my heart with this strangely sad sense of wonder. This is also my favorite part of the lyrics-- where they promise to be the moon to your sun, and dedicate themselves to you, clinging on to what's left of this relationship. The emotions crash into me like a wave.

And then the slight pause before all of them come in for the last chorus??? The energy of that was not put to waste, and it faded out towards the end of the song just right. So beautiful. Listening is always worth every second.

Unfortunately, this song has no official music or auto-uploaded audio video, and I'd feel immoral uploading someone else's video. So, for now, I won't add a link to this mubank. I apologize.

But if you do find and listen to it, I hope you enjoy~. I'll read you later! <3
