della's mubank - 13

"Oh, can't you see I'm still loving you?"

Hello! Welcome back. Today's mubank is all about the B2ST's angsty Say No, released in 2010. It's on their second EP, Shock Of The New Era. It's a classic post-breakup song, with synthesized bass and heavy drums that reverberate throughout the song. The members' vocals compliment this well, adding passion and drama behind their singing and rapping. They all harmonize especially well in the chorus, with all of the aforementioned aspects and breaks in the instrumental as they beg you to say no, really driving home the emotion and desperation.

Moving into the lyrics, they explore holding onto someone they still love as a friend becomes interested in them instead. They support their friend, telling them all about you and how to treat you right. They encourage them and say they'll be a good boyfriend to you. All the while, they're hoping you will reject their friend. In anguish, they beg and hope deep inside their heart that you will come back to them instead, that you still love them like they love you-- and we're left with the mystery of whether or not you actually will return. Would you?

Overall, another prime example of 2nd gen songs! It's full of electronic and industrial sound, drama, and thick eyeliner. If you're new to older gen sounds, this would be a good one to check out (as well as B2ST's other iconic songs like Fiction, Beautiful Night, and I Like You The Best)!
