her first name flipped, a nickname coined by lee juyeon just because. she never asks him why, she just lets him be.
her native tongue, uses a mix of the dialects used in busan and ulsan as she spent all her life going back and forth those two cities.

knows how to read and write in the foreign language substantially from school and now has a wide vocabulary but may not be as capable to verbally convey herself. yet, when she sings songs in english, there's a very soft and soothing british accent to her.
can never wear anything made from wool. in warmer weather, she normally wears more casual t-shirts and jeans. though, she'll always carry an outer or jacket just in case. she wears pastel colors often as well as warm, beige colors. in colder weather, she'll be seen wearing all sorts of different tops to keep her warm. all the sweaters, hoodies, long coats, turtlenecks and long padding. often seen wearing sneakers or boots, rarely seen in heels. her favorite go-to shoes are vans, doctor martens, puma, nike or converse.

❝ on the surface heera isn't someone who stands out or socializes often with people. most of the time, she's unassuming and aloof. she keeps to herself, not speaking unless necessary and prefers to sit in the back of the class. it's not rare for her to hear that she has an unapproachable aura to her. many of her classmates hesitate to engage in small talk with her, only going up to her for group assignments or discussions. it's because of this that people are often surprised when she is capable of becoming a team-player and advisor in discussions regarding things that spark her passions and interests.
she's usually the one in the group assignment who helps put in insight and is in charge of arranging the presentation with her creative touch. either, through volunteering or receiving the task from the group leader. she's often the one whose constantly on her phone to check if everyone's okay with the presentation she arranged and it surprises everyone when she does speak the truth honestly, seeing as she's usually saying little. it's also a sign of how severe the situation is when even heera is speaking up about it.
❝ digging deeper she's civil and courteous when it comes to group assignments or discussions and other situations with strangers or classmates, but honestly, that's it for heera. she doesn't really want to let anyone into her bubble, except a select few. perhaps, that's why she decides to say little around others. the less she talks, the less others will grow fond of her. this is why heera is often seen providing one-liners in between conversations or an approving nod or a disapproving shake of the head most of the time in the classroom.
due to this, it surprises others when her close friends of eugene, yeonju and hwan greet her or approach her, she flashes the brightest smile nobody expects her to have. she's actually a loyal friend to her selected circle, always open to listen to their thoughts and give wise advice to them. she's able to shower them with her affectionate and honestly express herself to them. always finding new ways to entertain and cause them joy from the little things in life, heera lives with passion towards those she cares for and the things she lives for. she knows what matters in her life and tries her best to hold on to those things. she always means what she says and will never tell a lie.
❝ her achilles heel in short, heera is a restless soul. well, yes, everyone lives with worries on the daily but heera's worries are on a different level. easily shaken by small changes and the endless thoughts of a problem, heera is one who cannot conclude things easily. she doesn't end a dispute or a problem with a conclusion, just a hypothesis because she gets restless and overwhelmed at the thought of making the wrong decision. she's not insecure about how others see her, though. it's just that the negative thoughts in herself fuel the anxiety and indecisiveness inside her, making her restless about her own well-being.
meeting new people doesn't excite her, it actually scares her inside. she's always lived with a certain amount of distance towards other people and it worked because sojun was in the equation. she lived just fine in her bubble. she was safe, untouched and guarded but of course, others will see her differently because of how reserved she is. "it's not a lie that i open up slowly anyways, don't worry about how i feel" she'd tell eugene about those who called her negative things as they passed by them. her aloof attitude has become one of her life habits and to let new people in or to get used to having new faces around is in itself a challenge for her. it took her awhile to open up to those around her and that's only because they were welcoming and warm to her first. not that she's secretive, it just takes her a while before being comfortable around new people and to let down her guard. for heera, approaching someone first is really not her thing.

heera was born and raised in busan, south korea five minutes after her twin, sojun was born. her mother is now a housewife, having worked as a bank worker before quitting her job due to her pregnancy and raising the kids. her father works as a marine biologist at the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI). living quite comfortably, heera grew up having to go back and forth ulsan and busan during her school breaks due to the decreasing health of her maternal grandfather after contracting colon cancer stage two. her maternal grandfather passed away a few months before she graduated high school after his cancer reached stage four and due to that, her mother went back to busan to reunite with her father.
heera stayed attending school in busan until she and her twin were set to enter high school. her mother brought her and her twin to ulsan while her father stayed in busan but went back to ulsan on the weekends. sojun unexpectedly enjoyed high school life in ulsan while heera didn't think of it much. wherever she went, she'd still chose to be alone, to wander aimlessly by herself if not for sojun by her side. naturally more sociable than her, sojun was the sun and stimulant that connected her with the world and was able to get her to step out of her bubble to interact with others.
heera grew up being shy and aloof, not wanting to be noticed and wanted to be alone. she never had the pull to be closer to others. she chose to become the moon that compliments her brother's sun but perhaps, there's more to the root of that than meets the eye. she realized it during high school one day, aged around sixteen at the time. being in the new environment and the internal stress and pressure she puts herself triggers her occasional anxiety attacks. the sudden fidgeting of her body, the migraine, the restless breathing, the overthinking. everything started to make sense for her. was this inner anxiety and restlessness the reason why she started to be the way she is? heera doesn't pry into it, but inside her mind and heart, she acknowledges that her mind responded to the anxiety by distancing herself from others. she can never tell her parents, considering the stigma towards mental health in south korea. how could she? will it disappoint them? will they put a stigma on her? how will they react? she wants to keep it under control on her own terms, albeit the noticable side effects.
sojun always made sure to steady her down, he was there for her when she needed him. "heera, don't you think you need to get the official help?" she always shook at his question. "sojun, everyone lives with a certain amount of worry. mine just gets triggered easily. by stress. by time. by pressure. by crowds. randomly. i usually have it under control," she'd usually answer back. sojun knew better than to let her be, but he couldn't go against her. she was the most precious person to him along with their parents. the only thing he could do was listen, calm her down and help her stay afloat whenever she needed him and heera can never thank him enough for everything.
after all that going back and forth from ulsan and busan, heera decided to attend university in ulsan after being encouraged by her close upperclassman. there's also the fact that she felt like she had already gotten used to life in ulsan, wishing not to go back to busan or go to seoul like sojun. it was her twin, sojun who also gave her the extra push to stay in ulsan. he told her that it was time for her to do what can help her reinvent and discover herself. it was time for her to rely on him less. as they were walking from school, he told her, "heera, you know that i'm going to seoul for my goals and dreams. you should do the same, go where you can do that too. even if it's not in busan with mom and dad or in seoul with me."
heera knows the circumstances that come with attending the university of ulsan. yet, a small part of her wanted to be away from the comforts of home even if it'd be more convenient to be in busan. deep down, it may be the strong inner desire to figure out what she wants to be and to do without anyone's help or stimulation that she decided to enroll in the university of ulsan to study digital contents design.
sojun already figured out what he wants to be and do when he fell deep into taekwondo. now, he's become a promising national team athlete. as for heera, she stopped taekwondo when she entered high school because she was more interested in drawing, painting, doodles, music videos and coloring books. looking at her brother, heera realized that if sojun could figure it out, she could too. she just needs to take it step by step.
currently, she's set to be a freshman majoring in digital contents design as a part of the school of design and even before she graduated high school, a close upperclassman of hers has already asked her (or in her own words, "scouted" her) to be part of the university band club, sharpflat #, as a guitarist and vocalist. she plans to only partake in one club throughout college and may not join into another club anytime sooner.

thanks to her parents securing an apartment that's a solid fifteen minute walk from campus, heera opts to walk to and from campus. she's often waking up an hour or two before her class, eating a light breakfast and packing in a protein bar or energy bar in her bag before she goes to campus. her lunch is usually something from the convenience store or a cafe or restaurant near campus. it's not rare to see her walking on campus with her earphones plugged or seated fully focused on her laptop screen or sketchbook. between classes, she's often seen at the band room or library doing her assignments or practicing her vocals and guitar (or taking a nap, oops). she tries her best to track her workload and finish it comfortably before the deadline, not wanting to succumb to procrastionation or half-assed results.
heera doesn't associate herself with parties or large gatherings, although she may have to survive the first fewe months of freshman year attending drinking parties as a form of "welcoming party" for the freshman students. heera's someone who lays low and is a homebody. she doesn't really go out of her apartment often so instead, she's open to hosting yeonju and hwan into her apartment. she enjoys quiet and exclusive places rather than the loud and crowded places so she doesn't know much about the current trendy places. she's often spending her free time with eugene or going to her hidden gems in the city for some quality alone time to read a book over a cup of tea or coffee or do her assignments.

her laugh and giggle exactly sounds like "heehee", covering when laughing or giggling, rubbing her hands over her tattoos when nervous, running her hands through her hair, doesn't eat her food until her beverage comes out, drawing a lot of random doodles on her notebook when bored in class, texting with kaomojis, using the purple heart emoji a lot in her text or in her captions.
❝ her bag is full of energy bars or protein bars that substitute for her lunch or light snacks when studying and she's become quite known for it, will be more than willing to give to her band club friends and classmates when they ask for one.

❝ is a quiet and calm drunk. has the most obvious asian flush but even when she's drunk, still tries to keep it cool and seems to still have control over her sanity.

❝ rarely cooks for herself since eugene is the one who can cook and bake in their apartment so she relies on food delivery apps and take-out for her meals.

❝ not officially diagnosed with anxiety, but knows that she has anxiety and it can be triggered by stress towards time management, crowds and overthinking. her closest friends knowof this and she's comfortable in telling them if she's suddenly hit by an anxiety attack. practices self-meditating and breathing exercises when those things happen.

her two parents shower her with a lot of love, causing her to be the adored daughter of the household. they raised her with a lot of encouragement and a hint of strictness. her father is especially protective of her and even went to the extent of putting her in taekwondo classes until she stopped when she entered high school. her mother being the caring and outgoing soul is often mistaken as her older sister when they go out together due to her baby face and it always prompts entertaining episodes worth telling. her mother is often giving wise advice through the phone while her father is always exuding cuteness and sending stickers or emojis to her whenever he texts her every day. their expectations of her has a different complexion to that of theirs of her brother's, always praying that at the very least, she can be happy with herself and be surrounded by good people. never in their wildest dreams would they think that their precious daughter has social anxiety, they always thought she was shy and distant but never to that extent. heera is hesitant to tell them, as she doesn't want to disappoint them.
older by five minutes, sojun was blessed with emotional intelligence and friendliness. he's definitely the sun to heera's moon, always orbitting around her. he's currently studying in seoul as well as fulfilling his duties to the taekwondo national team. after attending school side-by-side all their lives, heera must now be able to withstand life without sojun by her side 24/7 and she knows it's not going to be easy. heera loves sojun with all her heart as he's always been her bodyguard, her friend. most importantly, he's her twin. he and her will always have their fates intertwine, no matter how rocky the road in life can be. after all, he's her forever friend. she'll always be able to tell him everything and trust and depend on him when she can't find someone to lean on. sojun will always have heera to steady him and give her advice. even if he's far away, she'll always tell him about her struggles and anxiety attacks.
heera and eugene (as she prefers to be called) go a long way back. they were childhood friends who went to the same nursery and grade school and their parents became best friends through them. they never went to the same school after that, as eugene spent ten years studying abroad in california. they never lost contact even then, seeing each other whenever eugene returns to korea for her summer break or winter break. they've recently discovered that they're going to the same university at the university of ulsan with eugene choosing to study english literature. through their parents, managed to secure a shared apartment for the two childhood friends to live together in. even if sojun isn't around for her, heera is still relieved that she has eugene beside her since she can always rely on her best friend to be objectively honest with her and prompt her to be a more outspoken person. just as sojun did growing up. you can say that eugene brings out the best in her and everything heera has done with eugene has always been memorable and fun.
yeonju and hwan are cousins who attended the same high school as heera. yeonju was the friendly and bubbly upperclassman who managed to convince heera to sign up to be in the band, the travellers. yeonju became the older sister figure she never had and relied a lot on yeonju during her time in the band room. hwan was in the science major class, while heera was in the social sciences so the two rarely crossed paths but it was all thanks to their high school band that they were able to bond well and become friends. hwan, until today, is perhaps the only male friend heera has in her life and definitely is the guy she's closest with, next to her brother sojun. sojun himself acknowledges how cool and fun of a guy hwan is, despite initial prejudices. yeonju whose currently majoring in business communication is in charge of playing the keyboard, piano and is currently learning how to play the synthesizer while hwan plays the bass.
yeonju graduated a year before she and hwan did, causing her to encourage her cousin and her favorite underclassman to go to the university of ulsan to join the band club she's now co-leader of, sharpflat#. the three of them are often seen hanging out together as a trio, although it's not rare to see hwan and yeonju as a duo since yeonju has enlisted hwan to be her chaffeur to and from campus. heera and hwan are pursuing two different fields as hwan is majoring in biomedical sciences but they can be found interacting a lot in the band room, the library or cafe near campus talking about a lot of different topics. they share a lot to each other, trusting one another to listen to their thoughts and secrets. hwan and heera's friendship is often questioned by others, but both insists that throughout high school, they've disappointed each other enough times to know that they're not romantically compatible with one another so what they have is strictly platonic.
currently set to major in police science as a fellow freshman at the university of ulsan, rough busan youngster jeon jungkook is set to stir heera's quiet daily routines as he comes into her life unannounced. around summer break of freshman year, he'll approach her and his sincere and straightforward efforts to court her will make him the first person she'll ever fall for. her first ever some (썸). as jungkook and her spend more time together getting to know each other, it's quite strange that none of the two verbally confessed to the other. this continues on, them being in the grey zone without defining their relationship.
jungkook is popular in his major and is friends with a lot of people outside his major through basketball and football gatherings. this will cause jungkook's ego and pride to turn his once-pure and energetic soul to grow into his sly, wild and insisting popular guy facade. yeonju and eugene will try their best to guide heera out of this thing she has with jungkook as it's clear to them that she's being led on by the guy. they'll definitely have heated arguments and petty fights before parting ways, ending their some. all will pass once jungkook enlists during their second year. yet, he'll come back from his military service during her last year to perhaps cause some chaos and drama along the way.
if asked about her relationship with seul, heera would just sigh or shake her head. "don't get me started with lee seul," she'd say. everyone in sharpflat# knows that seul and heeera are like two siblings who fight with each other, only settling for a truce every blue moon. seul was initially "scouted" by yeonju one day to join the band and after hearing seul's arrogant and snobby respond to yeonju's friendly scouting, heera just could not but if it's for yeonju, she'll endure it. heera now lives with a certain amount of resent for seul because her presence just reaffirms to heera just why she doesn't like people. seul eventually joined the band after walking in on heera practicing by herself, where heera convinced seul somehow to go to just one band rehearsal. seul was amazed and touched by the music, passion and harmony of the band.
sharpflat# is heera's safe haven, with hwan and yeonju but she worried about the peace in the band room after seul joined. of course, seul was much like the band's public enemy when she first joined because of how everyone in sharpflat# respected heera and yeonju there and just for her distasteful attitude but it got better. the dynamic of seul and heera has its twists and turns as one second, they're salty and hostile to each other yet the next, they're civil and agreeing with each other. everyone in sharpflat# has become used to their antics and doesn't hope much, they just hope those two don't break anything in the process.
the two will meet through their mutual friends; yihwa's friend shin myunghwan is close friends with heera's friend lee hwan. heera doesn't give much thought about yihwa, the girl is too good for he own good in heera's mind. how could she be so nice? so sociable? anxiety takes over heera's judgement as the hand yihwa extended just seems too wistful. perhaps, after extensive efforts from yihwa to approach heera, heera will start to let yihwa come closer to bubble as she finally realizes the younger girl is truly pure inside with her intentions that yihwa really just wants to be friends with her.
once they become comfortable with each other, the two will be able to rely on one another as they try to overcome their inner strugles. heera will be able to provide the sharp insight yihwa may not know about herself while yihwa helps heera become more used to social situations, given the younger girl's sociable and amiable persona. the two are actually quite similar in a sense that not many have realized; yihwa seems like such a bright character but perhaps, there are many inner shadows within her that she never lets out while heera is all shadows on the exterior but seems like the brightest on the stage.
it was not really intentional for heera to become close to hwang hyojeong. actually, no intentions at all. it was all eugene's idea. eugene hangs out a lot with hyojeong and hyojong and that one time, heera was introduced to them at a cat cafe. hyojeong was a new face and deep down, heera was slightly intimidated by her strong appearances. heera knows hyojong because she has exchanged greetings with him as she goes to the smoking area in the university. you can say that hyojong and her have become acquainted through lighting up each other's cigarettes every time they see each other smoke.
hyojeong is hyojong's friend who carries a spare lighter with her and that one time, heera noticed her walking in front of the smoking area. not a stranger, heera simply asked hyojeong if she had her lighter with her and used it to light her cigarette before exchanging grattitude and greetings with hyojeong. aside from that and mannered greetings, they have limited knowledge or interactions with each other. although, heera may be keen to get to know hyojeong more.
definitely, heera and garam's relations with each other started off on the wrong foot. it was just a normal day for heera to take a nap in the band room and all of a sudden, someone entered. she instantly woke up and sprung up from her sleeping position, only to lock eyes with min garam, a returning student. if not for the other band members quickly filling into the band room to greet garam as "the honey voice that has returned as a man". heera realized what sort of first meeting that was and just started to shake her head. the two will then be formally introduced to each other and will quickly click with each other through their love for music. the two will become a duo that will cleanse everyone's tired out ears and souls with their voices as they both engage in impromptu jam sessions. for heera, that is enough for her.
the start for their journey happened as neighbours as whenever heera was having some peace and quiet in her apartment, she'd hear danhi screaming or slamming doors in her apartment for god knows what reasons (it was probably to ask for pocket money of some sort). heera always felt her switch go off whenever it happens. can she ever get some tranquility? danhi, or "dani" as she tells everyone to call her, is always capable of irritating heera but the exchanges and banter they have is always entertaining. heera always stays deadpan no matter what hotheaded comment danhi throws at her as she simply doesn't care. often, danhi would complain or rant all the way from the apartment to campus, only to find that heera wasn't listening as she had her earphones plugged in. then, there's danhi going "why do YOU out of all people get boy drama?" when heera and jungkook's drama breaks down. heera always just seems to sigh or shake her head around danhi.
yet, the two will have a common inner goal, to stand on their own feet. danhi will have to grow a sense of maturity and tact while heera has to have every bit of her inner demons in check. perhaps, after heera gets more comfortable in her skin thanks to whatever lee juyeon has done for her in her life, she might see danhi in a different way and start to warm up to her. in heera's world of silence, perhaps, once and awhile, a little ripple of noise can be a refreshing breath of fresh air.
han areum is one of many within eugene's circle of friends. at this point, heera's not quite sure why eugene keeps trying to introduce her to her friends yet she realize that it'd be impolite not to. heera knows eugene is trying her best to close the distance between heera and the world. though heera will be a bit cold to areum at first, she'll start to send mannerful exchange of greetings areum's way whenever they bump into each other the more they see each other outside of campus. more so, when they find each other being roped into some double dates courtesy of cho joonwoo and lee juyeon who turned out to be classmates. heera doesn't hate the double dates, it's just a new thing she's never tried so she was scared at first but the tight squeeze juyeon gave her hand the first time managed to calm her down. seeing what nice people areum and joonwoo were also reassured her to some extent, too.
the two girls would start out as double date mates and start to progress to become closer as they share talks about their respective boys and academic performances. heera enjoys listening to areum's stories and at this point, she'd be more than glad to provide areum with some insight of her own. areum is very mesmerized by this side of heera which was different from the girl she saw being with juyeon. her music skills, her creative touch, and the mystery in her eyes was admirable to areum and areum is glad that she can share deep conversations with heera. although, she'd always go back to the girl doing all this rom-com worthy bickering, teasing, and sweet exchanges with joonwoo during their double dates, leaving heera and juyeon both amused. deep down, areum wishes she and joonwoo were more of a quiet and chill pair like heera and juyeon.

when juyeon was five years old, his father gained better work opportunities in the headquarters of hyundai heavy industries that led the family to relocate from his birthplace of gwangju to ulsan. his mother who was a chemistry professor ended up giving lectures at ulsan national institute of science and technology. his younger brother was born two years later. since then, he's attended school and made friends in ulsan as if he was born there.
juyeon was comfortable in ulsan and when it was time for him to graduate from shinjung ulsan high school, his mother basically pushed him to enlist the year he turned twenty. he remembers the exact words she said to him, "since you can't avoid it, might as well do it as soon as you're of age!" that's why unlike most of his friends who went to enjoy freshman year or other who took a gap year to chase better universities, he spent eighteen months in the army corps. after returning to the society, his college entrance exam results were enough for him to enroll in the university of ulsan, majoring in management as he had originally planned in high school.

when heera meets juyeon, it'll be at a point in time where she's feeling more comfortable with university life in general but still feeling incomplete inside. juyeon starts attending the university of ulsan as a freshman when heera becomes a sophmore after being discharged. they've perhaps crossed paths with each other multiple times on campus as strangers but never had a true connection that was relevant. juyeon was still getting used to university life after he got discharged from his military enlistment while heera had a lot of things to sort out in her life so they never noticed each other.
before the start of sophmore year, heera met hwan who was on a break during his military service. hwan hinted to heera about juyeon as he said, "um, you'll be alright, hey, i got a friend whose a freshman. maybe you'll bump into him. lee juyeon. his parents are apparently close with mine and yeonju's." heera never really took into account hwan's words as she started going into detail to him about the deep thoughts in her mind. she missed having hwan around. it was bad enough that sojun was in seoul and even hwan now was still a good seven months from being discharged. before they parted ways, she told hwan, "hwan, i just wanted you to know that that this is me trying to get my life together." hwan only gave her a faint smile before patting her head, "of course, you are. you never settled for half-assed or second best . you'll grow into it."
it was not until juyeon came to one of sharpflat#'s performances as a freshman. he comes up to yeonju who greets him warmly and he shakes hands with heera. "didn't hwan tell you? this is one of hwan's friends, lee juyeon." heera suddenly recalled the name. oh yeah, hwan mentioned him. for juyeon, while he was at it, he got her instagram and kakaotalk id. a friend of hwan's can be a friend of his too. heera hesitated to let him into her instagram, only accepting it two weeks after. heera didn't think much of him, thinking that he'd just pass by just like another cold breeze in the winter or most of her classmates in university.
oh, little did she know she was wrong.

in all honesty, heera's bubble has never been popped by anyone. she made sure nobody came close to it so she has never had a taste of romance ever in her life. heera knows people would say that sojun was too protective of her but she knows that deep down, that's not true. she herself knows that she's always lived with an unspoken distance towards others so it was her own fault that she has been incapable of being sociable.
that's why when a certain jeon jungkook came into her life and shook her quiet life, she knew better than to hope for another chance in the love and dating department. she remembers how badly she was led on by him, how it seemed so easy for him to change, how painful the few weeks and months after felt. just when she felt like she had a decent shot at something lovely, it turned out too good to be true. never again, she said.
having taken a break from love after a sad end to his highschool girlfriend of a year when he enlisted, lee juyeon decided to live life surrounded by his friends and family. of course, lee juyeon never experienced a bond with someone as guarded as heera and it shows but he was resilient to get to know her as a person. heera intrigued him. the distance between her and the world like as if she was in another milky way by herself. yet, when she performs with the band, it's as if she along with yeonju and hwan were like the belt of orion, the three kings, three stars shining brightly. "thank you for the compliment, i'm flattered" she briefly replied to his kind words regarding their band performance. he was easily drawn into her, despite her continuous unresponsive replies but he knew better than to rush it. step by step, slowly coming closer to her bubble.
heera thought he'd go away yet he keeps coming back. he keeps striking conversations, being nice to her and she admits that several of his jokes crack her up. well, he never felt overbearing for her. she just felt surprised at his persistence and curiosity. "why are you here again?" she'd say as she sees him approach her in the band room one day. "just wanted to see what you were doing, yeonju told me to keep you company," his soft smile paired with his styled hair did make her wonder how someone could look like that. heera knew it was a lie, she just sent yeonju a picture of her in the band room. of course, he'd try something like that.
yet, heera felt something different. she actually wanted to keep him close. it was familiar to her. juyeon was as warm as her brother's sun that compliments her moon yet also as comfortable as hwan's tree that keeps her shaded from the sun rays. he seemed to be a mix of both. this sparked an interest in heera, somehow. she wanted to know what juyeon was. was he another sun? was he another tree? or was he something completely different? to that, heera told juyeon, "you said we were like orion's belt, right? well, i'll show you what it's supposed to feel when we meet at orion's belt." juyeon smiled. even the way she talks about things was different, she was indeed one of a kind.

from that point, their relationship was quite an ambiguous one but heera defined them as "besties with the brakes" only because juyeon thought they were close enough to call each other that. she let him have his way. juyeon was honoured to be let into heera's milky way, every single part of it was new for him. it was interesting for heera to experience another bond like this after what happened with her and jungkook. juyeon seemed to be in every nook of every word in her daily life, interacting with her seemed to become a routine for him.
juyeon knew he liked her at this point, he was being transparent enough for those around him to know. juyeon liked her silence and the creative ways she uses to express herself. her actions spoke louder than words and the fact that she let him be whenever he came to her was a sign for him. it was for heera. she was learning to stand on her own and through sojun's advice, she had to learn how to let people in. it was difficult for her but the way juyeon and her were able to share a comfortable silence meant something to her. he said nothing, neither did she but it just felt nice. heera was surprised he didn't say a word, she thought he'd break the silence because that's how juyeon usually is. deep down, heera was relieved that she found someone who didn't make her restless because of her own silence.
simply because just as she was getting a hang of life and was ready to start a new chapter in her life, he came in. he felt like the start of a completely different arc she never knew. he sparked something inside her that made her want to stay and see what happens next. he was a plot twist.

of course, heera didn't ask for more from him. she was restless. she had anxiety. she was indecisive. the fact that juyeon still was close to her and interacting with her seemed enough for her. yet, it felt lacking. heera felt her emotions scream at her saying, "hey stupid, you like him!" when even eugene and yeonju can weigh in on it, heera realized it was true that she had feelings for lee juyeon. why else would she grow restless at the thought of him walking away? why else would she miss him every other hour he was with his friends or with his dance team? why else would she question who the female students in his class look like?
it was at this point in her life that heera figured out why people say "the beauty of love is that, you can fall into it with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time." as she and juyeon grew closer, she learned from him. she was slowly standing on her own, settling into her skin and discovering herself. it wasn't fully because of him, but juyeon's warmth and comfortability gave her courage. heera finally felt her life come together as her own. yet, there was still her anxiety to deal with. seeing him reassure and calm her down at every right timing convinced her that he knew about her achilles heel. it made her like him more, yet made her fear the thought of him leaving more and more. would he still love her the way she is? will he stick around even if...?
juyeon knows that heera was to some extent restless and anxious but he figured out her anxiety when he saw in his own eyes the scene of her anxiety attack once when she was alone in the band room. he never had a stigma towards mental health as he knew that everyone has different backgrounds and coping mechanisms. seeing the girl he loved dealing with such a thing didn't make him turn away. it made him want to stay and guard her. that's why he always made sure to say everything clearly, reassure her, calm her down and listen to her every day.
just like what he told her on a certain spring day, as they walked together under the shades of the trees, "i really love you, you just forget sometimes so i'll remind you when you think i don't."
heera knew he felt cool and romantic by saying that so she surprises him with a peck on the cheek before walking ahead of him. juyeon stood there with the most happiest grin on his face as he felt himself go red. to this, heera said to him with the brightest smile, "hey stupid, i love you!"
