Born as the youngest sibling, Noeul grew up in a family of normal humans but surrounded by tales of her great-great-grandmother and great-great-grandfather. She listened to the stories of how powerful the two were, with her grandmother being a green witch and her grandfather being a powerful elemental witch (earth and water). They were the legends that were passed down through witch history for being incredible talented and managed to teach plenty of young witches during the prime of their time.
For whatever reason, those genes were never passed down again. As none of the Cha family members would carry on the witch legacy, the Cha family soon fell out of touch with the witching world and turned to a normal human family. The witch gene was said to have been stripped away from the Cha family due to how powerful both of them were. That was the legend that Noeul grew up hearing about from her aunts and uncles.
As none of Noeul’s older siblings showed signs of carrying the witch gene, Noeul never thought that she’d inherit it either. Never once did she wonder about the "-what ifs-" since she always carried the thought that she would be a normal human just like the rest of her family. Though she admired the legend that lived within their family name, Noeul didn't hold any hope that she would a witch - "Everyone else is just human, there's no use in getting my own hopes up."
When she enters middle school, Noeul quickly becomes well liked amongst her peers due to cheerful attitude. In no ways was Noeul talented in anything specifically, it was just her energy that managed to pull people into her. As high school is coming to an end and she's getting ready to be thrown into the world of adults, Noeul's smooth plans of just graduating high school and getting into a decent university is shaken once she's forced to see - that the unexpected really do come in sudden ways.

Noeul only found out about her being a witch when she just turned 19 years old. While she was visiting the cafe as usual to try and catch the supposed witches in the act, it's her trip to the mountains that suddenly takes a turn. As she's hanging outside the cafe, she goes about her usual habit of whistling. But she stops once she hears a bird whistle the same tune.
Curious if she was going crazy, she whistles a different tune which is also mimicked by the bird. As she looks around her surroundings to make sure she's alone, she starts to laugh - perhaps all this witch hunting craze was really driving her to the edge of her sanity.
"Am I finally going crazy?" she asks to no one in particular when she's answered by the very bird who was mimicking her whistling.
"No, I really liked your whistling! It was very good!"
All breaks loose and Noeul sprints down the mountain and heads straight home. For the next few days, Noeul stays hidden in her room - only going out to the bathroom or eat while her parents and brothers worry over what spooked her so much to see their lively daughter/sister become so quiet. While she was visiting the cafe as usual to try and catch the supposed witches in the act, it's her trip to the mountains that suddenly takes a turn. As she's hanging outside the cafe, she goes about her usual habit of whistling. But she stops once she hears a bird whistle the same tune.
Curious if she was going crazy, she whistles a different tune which is also mimicked by the bird. As she looks around her surroundings to make sure she's alone, she starts to laugh - perhaps all this witch hunting craze was really driving her to the edge of her sanity.
"Am I finally going crazy?" she asks to no one in particular when she's answered by the very bird who was mimicking her whistling.
"No, I really liked your whistling! It was very good!"
All breaks loose and Noeul sprints down the mountain and heads straight home. She visited as often as she could in hope that somehow, she could find a small bit of evidence that witches did in fact worked at bewitched cafe. She ditches her friends and makes excuses to her parents just to visit the cafe whenever she had time. It wasn't that she wanted to expose these people to witch hunters, it was out of pure child-like curiousity.
While during one of her visits after she finds out she was a witch herself, she gets caught by Yongmi when Noeul is having a quiet conversation with some of the nearby birds and trees - asking them to keep an eye out if anyone would notice her. She's telling the birds how worried she was over discovering that she was a witch when Yongmi appears. Yongmi then offers Noeul to work at bewitched cafe, hoping to help the young witch and give her a safe place filled with others just like her.
Noeul is probably the newest worker given that it's only been a few months since she started working at bewitched cafe. Though she has loads left to learn from her seniors, it's her youthful cheerful vibe that seems to brighten up the place a little more. Her main job is collecting ingredients for the kitchen witches as well as preparing them but there's days where Yongmi will task her with keeping the ambiance of the cafe in it's usual comfy, relaxed state. There's also a few times she acts as the waitress but overall, she's never complained over which task she's been assigned for and does her job without a fuss.

Perhaps it's because of the gene Noeul was inherited with, the girl is a fast learner despite being a newbie. She credits her skills to the fact that she's been reading the spellbook passed down by her father. However, it's her technique and control that's still lacking due to her still being a new witch. It doesn't discourage Noeul from practicing and learning, hoping to carry on the Cha legacy.
