Gireon's hidden dream was to become a singer just as much as it was sister, Gihyun's publicized dream. It was the true ultimate goal and Gireon could finally say she obtained it by becoming the main vocalist of Mode, DM Entertainment's newest girl group. Of course, everything comes with a price and a fragile state of mind could cause it to all crumble. It's even harder for Gireon to open up to anyone including her groupmates, in fear that one of them would judge her greatly. How could any of them relate? They were all beautiful whereas, she ruined the image of Mode. The comments of the netizens never made it better either. They all mentioned how Gireon utterly failed in visuals and looked so out of place in Mode whenever a group photograph is posted on social media platforms. She was never one to receive compliments regarding her looks but she never had so many point out that how ugly she was either. Perhaps this is why her mother never saw her as a singer but thought Gihyun would fit this lifestyle better. Gihyun is beautiful whereas Gireon is unattractive. Mode is gorgeous whereas Gireon is unseemly. 

Gireon deals with so much on her shoulders, maintaining her title as main vocal all while trying to keep her mask in place. She can't allow them to see that their cruel opinions affect her so greatly not when the company was counting on her. She couldn't let her sister down either, not when she's the one who practically handed her this opportunity. But with the mask in place, she can't even allow the girls to know the her that's struggling with this whole idol image. She must remain distant, she must keep her guard in place, she has to keep up this charade because it's all she ever wanted.

But what does one do when they feel like they're constantly being jabbed at? Cry in the confines of the cramped dorm bathroom that she shares with the other five women, while sobbing into her palms. Muffling her frustrations once again so no one will be bothered with her personal melodrama. It just that she comes off so uptight when she just wants no one else to worry. Not DM's staff, not their told-you-so mother, not Gihyun and especially not the new found groupmates.

Despite having so much weighing on her conscious, no one can say that Gireon slacks when it comes to Mode. She's always made sure to arrive to practices, performances and recordings thirty minutes in advance in fear that she could mess up on a grander scale of things. She's career focused much like her older sister, having come from a very low-income household, she knows to not take this handed opportunity for granted. Gireon's always made sure to do her very best and prides herself in accomplishing a goal or more in a day's work. She's also one of the most dependable people to guarantee a job done; no one can ever doubt Gireon's work ethic or worth (non-visual) for that matter. But behind those lack-luster smiles is a broken woman and in order maintain this constructed image, she makes sure to remain polite as possible and tries even harder to implement herself into whatever Mode is participating in at the moment.

She'd prefer to focus on everyone else but herself but sometimes, she wishes she could risk getting closer to all the others. Sometimes, she just wishes she could confide in anyone about it all and finally release what's been weighing her down and other times, she wished she'd been born pretty. Most of the time, she wonders how much longer will she able to put on airs before it all comes crashing down. All Gireon wants is to confident that she chose the right path, once and for all. Maybe she's just not meant to be in the spotlight any longer.

She's kept it under-wraps for as long as possible. She hadn't let a soul know. She'd decided that if she was going to be an idol, she'd have to learn to form a shield. However, that facade begins to crumble when she starts reading viscious comments online.

Heon Gireon was born within a single-parent household with an older sister who was many ions older (or at least in some circumstances, it felt this way) who acted as second-in-command more times than was needed. With their mother who worked relentlessly to make a living for the small family of three, Gireon's only task was to graduate school whereas Gihyun, her older sister had quite a different one. Since Gireon could remember, Gihyun's always expressed an interest in singing and it's been a known fact that it's all she's ever wanted to pursue. With the of six years, their mother deemed Gireon far too young to have a "solid" dream yet which is why education was to be her number one goal.

At family or church events, where Gihyun would be asked to sing, she'd always drag little Gireon along to participate. Of course, all the family members would gush about the Heon sisters' singing skills but their mother really only saw one destined for the spotlight. Despite their mother's personal opinions, Gihyun continued to beg Gireon to sing with and for her most evenings after school, "critiquing" her vocal abilities to what Gihyun would have learned from choir practice the previous evening. Secretly, Gireon didn't mind those intimate moments with her sister because she would discover a part of herself that wanted to know what it would be like if she and Gihyun switched places. Apparently, Gihyun could pick up on that more than their own mother could.

To be quite frank, it actually bothered Gireon that she would have to keep her nose in books while Gihyun was able to make trips to Seoul and audition at fancy companies on the weekends. Sure, school was also priortized just as much as it was for Gireon but at least Gihyun had something else to look and work towards to. And then, DM Entertainment happened and they were advertising audition opportunities everywhere in which Gihyun delightfully took the pleasure in attending and passing with flying colors. Gireon still remembers the drop of her stomach when Gihyun announced her plans to train with this company over a late-night dinner of microwaved left-overs and how their mother basically hopped up and down with so much joy.

Truthfully, she always felt like their mother cheered them on in conflicting ways, like she's always planned for them to follow such different paths in life; Gireon was meant to study and go to community college, whereas Gihyun would become an idol and be well known everywhere. But just how upset would their mother be if Gireon actually wanted to sing as well? Would she be devestated?

In 2012, Gihyun would make her debut with Aleis and Gireon? Well, she would be watching from the sidelines, catching music show performances and listening to their over-worked mother boast about her televised daughter to secretly jealous neighborhood mothers. Gireon began to wonder if her mother would ever gush about her like that and would she proudly boast about her high-school grad daughter getting into community college the same way she expresses joy about their town's very own idol?

The follwoing year, Gireon completed high school and was in the process of applying to a local community college but even then, one can only guess how Gireon was celebrated for her accomplishments. Well, with a simple pat on the head and a heart-filled "good job" which was not followed by bragging to other mothers or a special cake to celebrate her many accomplishments. And at that very moment, this reaction would be known as the biggest slap in the face. All Gireon ever wanted was to make someone proud of her, anyone truthfully but still, even after all that, she was still second to best.

Gireon would take a huge step and decide that she'll no longer abide by the rules and take a crack at auditioning just like Gihyun had and she'll find a way to pass with flying colors too. And she did. She would finally be on a similar path as Gihyun by signing with and participating in HU Entertainment's new show THIRTEEN (JYP's Sixteen, technically) where they would be building a seven member girl group through a series of challenges and performances. At first, Gireon thought it was a good opportunity and a great chance to finally have a crack at a singing career she'd so secretly hoped for, for so long. She tried to bond with the other casted members, worked hard to practice dancing even though she failed terribly in comparison but it jsut wasn't enough. Unfortunately, nerve-wrecking circumstances changed Gireon's desire to debut with the company at the end and she would depart just as quickly, throwing a slight wrench in her previous employer's plans which would eventually lead to the disbandment of Dreamers the following year.

After HU Entertainment, Gireon decided to pursue community college anyway and take a break from the entertainment world. Apparently, it just wasn't for her and perhaps her mother's idea of opposing paths for her daughters wasn't actually crazy after all. But, it's at the profound age of of twenty-two that Gireon received a call from her older sister that she hasn't heard from in a year that surprises her the most. DM Entertainment wanted to meet her and it was all because of Gihyun.

Thirteen kicked off the year 2015 and introduced thirteen potential group members to the public in which seven of those cast-mates would eventually form Dreamers. Even after signing with HU Entertainment, Gireon's future was pretty unclear. Sure, with the compleition of Thirteen, HU was confident that their newest project could bring in some numbers especially with this retro, cute concept but that alone, couldn't guarantee success. The company hadn't been around long enough to garner enough attention and truthfully, if HU couldn't promote the girls right then they'll fail just like other rookie groups and their companies have even with the competition show backing them. Besides, Gireon didn't really bond with the Thirteen members, not when she was the new kid on the block who hadn't trained nearly as long as the soon-to-be leader, Jigeum or Mihye had.

Just before the official debut later that year, Gireon decided she had had enough with the snide comments from the others who really dug into her about her short training period. She really hadn't thought it a big deal but apparently, it mattered quite a bit when it came to internal rankings of respect within the group itself. She wasn't even the youngest and even the baby wanted to treat Gireon as if she was beneath her.

It also didn't help that the spiteful girls of Thirteen/Dreamers (fc: VIVIDIVA) recognized Gireon as Gihyun's younger sister. Of course with such a unique surname and similar names, anyone would be able to pin the two together. And that caused Gireon great exasperation because then, her members believed that Gireon's ego would only expand once debut happens. If only these girls really got the chance to know her. If she did have a huge ego, would it not have been exposed when she was on Thirteen?

From Gihyun's many idol stories over the years, she hadn't recalled her sister going through such a process as this one. In Aleis, everyone acted like sisters and had one another's back but in Dreamers, everyone was for themselves and quite frankly, Gireon was ing tired of it all.

DM asked to meet her and it was all because Gihyun had played them a few clips from their childhood when they would sing at family functions or church events. They hadn't even heard the "adult version" of Gireon's vocals but still, they wanted to meet the hidden secret sister of Heon Gihyun, Aleis's Main Vocalist. Whereas at HU Entertainment, the girls would dislike her just because she was related to Gihyun, DM wanted Gireon because they thought she could be the successor, the savior for their newest project. Axiz was failing miserably and they really needed a vocalist to fill their last spot. Desperate times call for desperate measures and maybe DM should have really waited to kick-start their group but truthfully, Gireon was just as eager and just as desparate.

Is it really a "scandal"? No, but the public isn't really pleased with the announcement especially since Gireon is nowhere near Gihyun's level in terms of visuals and perhaps even vocals (that's quite questionable).

PERSONALITY : Laid-back, Goofy, Confident, Responsbile, Optimistic, Polite.

The leader of AXIZ, Injae's always makes sure to keep the boys in check by following the duties of what's expected of him and also by listening to his fellow members's concerns. But besides being the pillar for AXIZ and knowing that the group isn't doing well in sales at all, he keeps a positive outlook because not even BTS found their success in just two years. Other than being the eldest, Injae's admired for his relaxed approach to well, everything. Nothing and no one can ruffle this peacock's feathers. It's probably why the company and the rest of the guys were so set on making him their leader. When moments are way too serious, you can find Injae cracking a wise joke or cutting the tension of a room with an out-of-place noise.

Injae's freaking talented too. He may not be nearly as talented as their main vocalist (who plays leader in the moment it calls for seriousness) Namtaek, but even then, he's fairly confident he can deliver the same notes and range with flair. DM Entertainment didn't make any wrong moves when they hand-picked each and every person to be apart of this group. 
BACK STORY: Gireon's heard a couple of Axiz's songs on the radio a time or two but other than that, the group doesn't really stick to her mind. She can't even recognize a member from a CF let alone while being in the same company, better yet, the same room. So of course when she's introduced to them by her older sister while on a tour of the DM building, she plasters on that that awkward simper of hers and quickly breezes over each member until the very end where the leader's already staring her down. She gulps, he smirks and well, Gireon decided he's probably a grade-A and she's had enough of those recently. He probably wants to smash because at least her body would make up for her face, right? And she does succeed in keeping away until she's confirmed to be in Mode.

LOVE STORY :  She's stiff in interviews, her smile lacks authenticity and Injae can see it all so easily. He's only seen a genuine simper once and that was when one of the staff members called her pretty. It's weird because Gireon is gorgeous, but she doesn't see it and the nasty, name-calling netizens don't either but he does. He sees it in her eyes, especially when they twinkle and that beautiful voice of hers could wrap around him like Egyptian silk and he'll relish in it. Each time he's caught a glimpse of her passing by, he'd itch to greet but she'd speed up and leave the area just as quickly. What had he done so badly to put him on a list to avoid?

It isn't until a company dinner with some of the Aleis members (whose schedules weren't conflicting), Axiz and Mode to celebrate their debut that Injae's able to finally converse with Gireon and with a little champagne in her system, her bulletproof glass walls are down. He finds her so easy to speak to, so sweet and fragile even as she loads off on him about all her woes, she's astounding to him. He knows that she's considered the visual hole of Mode but with a personality like hers, she could easily compensate for what she "lacks" if she'd just allow herself to be open; it's just too sad that Gireon doesn't see that for herself. And Injae wants to be the one to tell her.

So whenever he catches there's a nasty comment on an article mentioning Mode's Main vocalist, he makes sure to use three of his randomized usernames to counter-attack with positivity the truth.

He also makes sure to order Gireon's merchandise and have it shipped to his older sister's residence so the members don't question him. Besides, Inree (Injae's older sister) has become a big fan of Mode and especially Gireon after having participated on a survival show herself and listening to Injae's constant conversations revolving around the woman of the hour.

Funny enough, ever since the celebration dinner for Mode, Gireon's a little more relaxed around Injae whenever she crosses paths with him and she no longer tries to avoid him. Instead, she beams at him and greets him in that voice he secretly adores. And as always, he looks so debonair with his long locks falling across his forehead and into his eyes before he lifts his fingers to brush it back. She wishes she could brush his overgrown fringe away from his handsome face, herself.

ENDING : Gireon and Injae don't even know how hot they have it for each other. I would like to see Injae's secret of being Gireon's three fanboy accounts to be exposed or somehow his shipment of Gireon merchandise ending up at the dorms and s somehow exposing him in the most obvious way ever (how embarrassing, right?). Either way, these two deserve each other and Gireon deserves someone who is finally in her corner and supportive on top of that.

FUN FACT: Taeil likes bob cuts on women so therefore, Injae will like Gireon's new hair if she ends up cutting it during this story. Mwaha.

PASSWORD: Where You At or Moon as they are both slower with a bit of pick-up in the choruses (change of tempo), which fits nicely with Gireon's abilities to surprise with her voice.
