APPEARANCE Suhyo has long flowing hair which goes down to her middle back, which is dyed a light brown, currently. She mostly lets it be, though sometimes tie it up in a ponytail to keep the strands away from her pale face. She has sharp eyes that, by the correct lighting seems to flash blue. Her red lips are mostly in a half smile, and she possesses fair skin. her collarbones are visible, and she has a slender build which she uses to her advantage. She has small feet and equally small hands. She stands at 168cm and weighs 50kg.

 

FASHION STYLE  Suhyo likes wearing boyish clothes and a comfortable look that is at the same time stylish. mostly, she opts for a simple t-shirt with sweatpants. In summer, she likes wearing short-sleeved shirts with shorts that comes down to just above her knees, with a hoodie just for the sake of it. On colder days, her wardrobe undergoes a change. instead of being just comfortable, she wears tighter pants which shows off her legs, large sweaters which hang from her frame or a white shirt coupled with either a plaid or bomber jacket.
Suhyo likes accessories, but only a few of them. she wears a scarf on cold days but doesn't actually need it, as well as small earrings and ball caps.

PERSONALITY 
 Being an extremely close friend of the Shin family, being sarcastic is not only a trait learnt and taken up from spending time with them, but also required for any daily conversation with the members of the Shin family. Thus, she is a natural at the skill. 

  Suhyo was originally the youngest child of the family, but because of her taking on various leader roles at school, as well as having many trainees around her at YG eventually, she became more caring and friendly around people, and made friends very easily.

 Living with her grandmother also made her become more independent, as she no longer could depend on anyone else, seeing as her grandmother was virtually blind as well.

  While her disobeying her parents made her more rebellious, and showed her stubborn and headstrong side, it also showed her determined side. The more she she continued her underground duo activities, the more determined she become, and it only increased with her joining YG, albeit her being disappointed when her partner didn't join her.

  Lastly, being a top student at school before, she was also used to being competitive, and strives to be the best ever. Constantly.

BACKGROUND 
Born in Beijing and to a pair of rather successful parents, Suhyo was under quite some pressure  to perform exceptionally at...everything, really, the moment she could walk and talk.

 

Luckily, she was also the youngest of the two siblings, so she was quite sheltered and doted on by both her older brother and parents. It was also drilled into her head that she was to graduate from a prestigious university, and have a successful business and the whole package, so before high school Suhyo was a rather obedient girl who followed her parents' wishes and didn't question anything. Much.

 

Timeskip to when she's in high school. The school she went to was, of course, another prestigious school. Actually, it was the best school, where her parents thought that she wouldn't receive any bad influence from her fellow classmates. (Oh, how wrong they were)

 

Being an excellent student and proficient at English, Suhyo was invited to participate in an exchange program with some Russian girls in high school, who introduced her to hip-hop culture and the underground rap scene. They even managed to drag along some Chinese girls who were also familiar with this stuff, and so Suhyo was gradually introduced and exposed to underground rap culture.

 

The more she was into the rap, the more her personality took a turn. It also didn't help that she somehow met Jineul when her parents took a trip to the United States (their families were acquainted and they go visit about every two years or so).  

 

After the trip to the States, she starts to explore the underground scene more by herself, and eventually formed a duo with a very close friend. Unfortunately, it was around the time when she had to sit for her college exams, so her grades were somewhat fluctuating around this time.

 

Eventually, her parents noticed, and told her off for her grades. Suhyo was annoyed, but she obeyed nonetheless, and graduated successfully. Her parents then told her to attend the most prestigious university in the country, which she did so for one year, before getting fed up and went to a performing arts college without her parents' knoweldge.

 

When her parents got wind of the news, they were (understandably?) furious, and berated her for this choice. Suhyo, being fed up, went to Korea, where Jineul and her grandmother was, and attended performing arts college there. Since her friend also attended college there, they restarted their underground duo.

 

As Suhyo was going through performing arts college and her underground rap duo activities, her videos and songs wre eventually discovered by a YG scount. She tried persuading her partner to join the company with her, though he was reluctant and eventually refused.

 

And so she began her path of training in YG.

-> Being the older sibling, their parents also had high expectations for Seungwoo, who delivered the results and is now standing at nearly the top of the country's finest medical company. Because their parents were constantly busy when they were little, he took care of Suhyo when they were children, and thus they were close in childhood. When Suhyo announced her plans to go to South Korea and join the performing arts college, he, like his parents, were disappointed and disagreed with her, which caused a rift between them. After tempers were cooled and emotions stopped running high, the siblings talked to each other again, and Seungwoo allowed himself to understand her, and eventually supported her. Whenever he goes to South Korea for business, he always insisted on meeting Suhyo.

-> Suhyo's mother is a businesswoman, as well as an owner of a very sucessful company, so she was a no-nonsense type of woman, and this extends to her family. She expects the best from her children, and does not accept anything less. That's why, when Suhyo's grades dropped and she started arguing with her parents, Lian was livid and furious. Thus, the relationship between mother and daughter was never really that good.

Lee Sungman / Father (55) / Diplomat, South Korea / strict, distant, cold / 3/10

-> Being a diplomat, Suhyo's father is constantly never really at home. He has the same high expectations as his wife of his children, and had somewhat the same reaction, except he didn't care as much. When Suhyo was little, he adored his daughter and doted on her a lot, but as she grew up, the more he traveled to South Korea, and didn't really see much of her. Moreover, being from a very traditional society, he favours his son more than his daughter, and thus Suhyo is fed up. So, after she left, their relationship didn't really change since he was so distant from his family all the time.

-> Suhyo had met her grandmother only a few times before she went to live with her, though each time she only showed her kindness and love, which Suhyo relied on after her parents got angry with her. Thus, she decided to go to South Korea afterwards. Her grandmother was nearly blind, so Suhyo was also forced to be independent. Despite her age, Ji-eun was still stern on her granddaughter, though it was the kind that told her to do her best and not to give up easily stern. Ji-eun also didn't ask many questions, because she knew how her son is, and had warned him many times before. So, Suhyo was extremely thankful for her kind grandmother.

Shin Jineul / Distant cousin (idk) / you know best / 10/10  
-> She and Jineul met in the States for the first time, when her family went visiting. Back then, Jineul was getting out of his shell, and finally getting a sarcastic streak, so Suhyo received a shock first, but then got her sassing game up as well. They got closer the more the Lee family visits, and eventually they kept in contact with email. Taking a leaf out of Jineul's book, she went to Korea to live with her grandmother as well (they share the same great-grandmother). Eventually, they are reunited at YG (somehow they never met in South Korea), and the other trainees are forced to endure enjoy their sassing battles. Also, she's the only one who can talk back to Jineul and win arguments with him.

-> While Suhyo wasn't as close with Jiae as she is with Jineul, the two are both acquainted and get along quite well. Because Jiae debuted first, she sometimes goes to her for advice. They also join forces together to sass Jineul out when they were little, but now Suhyo is just trying to mend the rift between the two siblings.

-> Suhyo isn't exactly too excited to be near Jinheo, since the younger tends to squish and tackle her whenever they meet. (which is what she usually does to everyone, but somehow she was exceptionally excited with Suhyo). Still, she gets along with Jinheo, though sometimes threatens her when she tackles her (and gets glared down by Jiae). Overall, they get along really well.

-> They didn't really meet before YG, but the moment Jineul introduced the two to each other, it was trouble. The two combined was virtually a disaster, but more so to Jineul because they stop at nothing to sass at him. Besides that though, they are really close friends, and often talk to each other and confine to each other about the troubles of debut and trainee-hood. They're really close, and she even went to the trouble of going to his debut showcase.

Kwon Hyuk / Underground duo partner (same age) / ambitous, gentle, hardworking / 10/10 

-> Hyuk was at the same school as Suhyo, and being an enthusiast for underground music as well, they eventually formed a duo and made music together. After Suhyo left for Korea, Hyuk went there for University as well, and they revived their underground duo, called R.EAper (yes me for that name). Eventually, the duo blew up, though Hyuk was reluctant to accept the scouting offer and eventually disappeared back underground again. When he debuted,she was shocked to see him, though they eventually reconciled and even did a few collaborations together, like before.

-> She was introduced to Jackson through Hyunwook as well, and the two got along instantly, seeing as both of them are Chinese. At first, Hyunwook was annoyed that he couldn't understand their conversations, but after that he just gets used to it.

-> One of the girls she met during the exchange program. They eventually met again in Korea, when Sofya went to college there. She was the one who taught Suhyo Russian, and she supported her a lot when she went to YG. Suhyo also confides in her a lot when she's in times of distress.

TRAINING BACKGROUND
Being scouted and having pre-trainee experience, Suhyo's skills were somewhat exceptional, and she was originally signed to a soloist contract. However, it was decided that she would be joining an idol group, and she was annoyed, but put up with it nonetheless.

  Despite her negative traits, Suhyo is friendly and caring enough, albeit distant, so the other trainees liked her.

  Then she was told that she would join the lineup of EMPIRE, and finally bumped into Jineul, somehow for the first time.

  And the EMPIRE members started their nightmare training together.

SCANDALS

> She was mistaken to be a couple duo with Hyuk, which was understandable, and they were even thought to be a couple during school. However, once she was seen leaning too close to Hyuk backstage (she was falling and he caught her) and it instantly blew up, which played a small part in breaking their duo up.

PERSONALITY
Sanghyuk is a charismatic and caring individual who just melts into a small ball of fluff and sass offstage. He likes having fun, and has this bright smile that just makes everyone love him instantly. Of course, he isn't nicknamed the 'evil maknae' for nothing. With his love of bullying his hyung Leo, and his sassy and playful comments that he likes to hurl at his hyungs, he can be quite a handful. However, Sanghyuk can be quite caring and helpful when he wants to, and will help everyone with a smile on his face. Generally, he's a helpful individual with just the smallest sign of sassiness and sarcasm. 

 

FIRST MEETING There were a few first significant meetings, actually, because of mutual friends. The first was when Jineul dragged her along as he was catching up with BTOB, who was there with VIXX. Another time was when she went to visit Jackson on his filming set of Big Byung, where she introduced herself to Hakyeon and Hyuk. (Since she knew Sungjae because of Jineul already)

 

DEVELOPMENT At first, it was just polite interactions and greetings in the hallways, but after gettng close to him during a promotion when she was interviewed (by him), and then being on a reality show together, they became friends and eventually something more ;) 

 

INTERACTIONS
Dating her friend and one of the members of her favourite group wasn't something Suhyo expected to happen at all, but it pleasantly did, and she's not complaining. The two acts like friends most of the time, which technically they are, but then again not really. 

They are still a little awkward around each other, having not gotten over the fact that they like each other, but the two of them like showing their affection for each other by extremely subtle skinship, such as holding hands in secret. Basically, their relationship is still in the developing stage.
