nicknames
general jaewon never bothered getting an official english name like most of the other korean friends that he mingles with. instead, most of his friends or acquaintances address him as jae (as derived from the first character of his name). some also call him jo but jaewon doesn't always respond to that nickname because it's used quite rarely.
jaewin the nickname came about when the jaewon, a sophmore at that time, was given the burden to shoot the last penalty shot for the finals. they're original penalty shooter injured himself during the match and jaewon was assigned to be the replacement. of course, jaewon had hoped he wouldn't have to cover for his friend but unfortunately, things don't always go his way. jaewon must have pulled some miracle because he scored the winning point against the other team.
he remembers going on his chat group with his classmates and saw people making puns with his name with the nicknames 'jaewin', 'i guess jae has really won', and 'jaewinner'. jaewon found these nicknames funner and they stuck with him for the rest of his years in high school. it's used mostly by his circle of friends when jaewon wins a competition or when jaewon manages to get something that he wants (this can span from jaewon winning a nike giveaway on instagram to finally getting to try the latest kbbq shop that's 2 blocks away from his house).

having lived in korea from his birth up till he was ten, jaewon still considers himself to be fluent in korean. he converses with his family in korean and his thoughts are all in korean too (the true problems of being bilingual). he speaks korean in the seoul dialect and during the rare moments when jaewon is serious, he sounds like newscasters when presenting the weather forecast.

jaewon remembers reading the english dictionary over and over when he was 11 because his english was literally the worst in his whole class and everyone was teasing him for his poor pronunciation and limited vocabulary. at he present moment, he has probably forgotten 50% of all the words he has read and won't be able to tell you the meaning of 20% of the words he remembers. nonetheless, jaewon can speak english fluently (most of his exams are in english anyway so if he isn't fluent he would be screwed). his korean accent barely comes up when he speaks anymore, it only does when he gets really flustered and trips on his words.

his father sent him to mandarin classes while he was still in korea and jaewon developed an interest in the chinese culture and history. jaewon continued taking mandarin language classes in school and is also currently enrolled in a mandarin language class. he doesn't speak mandarin often but he does around his chinese friends (especially when they are gossiping about someone and doesn't want anyone else to know).

appearance jaewon stands at 175cm and weighs 57kg. he credits his small frame to his east asian genes and has often been at the wonder of his classmates for being 'so tiny are you sure you eat?'. to which jaewon tells them he loves rice too much to not eat. coupled with his tiny build, jaewon looks like he's still 15 and struggling with which girl he should confess to. his small face, fair skin, messy hair and wide smile are definitely the cause of that. jaewon's eyesight isn't the best (his degree for both his eyes are 75) but wears his rounded glasses whenever he sits right at the back of the class or whenever he just wants to look like a studious kid. and while he'll never admit to his white friends, jaewon does put on a little concealer around his nose and under his eyes to cover the redness and designer eye bags he has (he doesn't understand why having 'eye fat' seems to be so uncommon in america and covers his terrible ones as much as he can).
style
jaewon prefers his clothes to be baggy and have a loose fit as compared to those that'd hug his skin. probably has a billion oversized black hoodies or pullovers in his wardrobe (sweater paws!!) ... usually only wears black and white and doesn't experiment with other colours. his shirts are plain and dont have any pattern or design on them (he does have some striped shirts but it won't be something he'd choose to wear unless he's somehow really feeling it). probably the only thing with colour are the sweaters and jackets that he owns. has olive green ones, deep blue/ navy blue/ baby blue ones, purple ones, pink ones, idk you can name the colour and he probably has it. wears bermuda shorts in the summer and jeans in the winter. after school whenever jaewon is playing floorball/ basketball/ doing any kind of sports, he's usually seen in the 20384 drifit shirts that he has from participating in floorball competitions, events or drifit school tees he has gotten over the past 4 years. he also would change out of his berms and but on knee length sports pants instead. isn't a fan of button-up shirts but owns a few for whenever he has to do a formal presentation or attend a formal event. carries a black kanken bag everywhere he goes (it is also the only bag that this boy owns). he also wears this one (1) pair of white nike air force 1 '07 when he goes to school and when he plays sports, he wears the nike legendx 7 academy ic shoes!! (is a nike fan and would never put on anything related to adidas,, ever)
likes to wear any and all kinds of hats!! esp berets and baseball caps! also, his floorball jersey has the number 07 on it because he likes the number 7.
the heart-warming smile he wears on his face assures him that everything in his life will eventually fall into place. his friends tell him his intelligence and talents will take him far in life but he doesn't know. he doesn't know how much of himself he's willing to show to the world without harsh criticisms piercing his fragile heart. nonetheless, while he is still figuring out his path towards adulthood, he's still hopes to find his way through the last few days of his teenage years by injecting as much happiness as he can. the world is his oyster and jaewon is not going to let anyone take that away from him.

being in love with the idea of love, sunshine filtering in through the blinds, engulfed in a much needed hug, rose-tinted glasses that can't seem to be replaced, sharing laughter with your closest friend.
he walks around school with his head held high and a small smile gracing his lips. he was voted most approachable in poll that the junior year students had to take and jaewon prides himself on that. somehow, he just seems to know 80% of the people in his grade and almost 90% of the school population has heard of him or have talked to him before. he carries an aura of cordiality that draws people in (and even if they aren't drawn, he'd probably be the one who would strike up a conversation). like helios, jaewon carries the sun with him and enjoys spreading positivity and encouraging people when they're down. it's his way with words that makes time spent in his presence comfortable. he knows not to overstep boundaries with different people and says just enough for the people he talks to to want to have him around and confide in him. jaewon likes acting as the listening ear to his friends and is probably one of the best people you should go to when you just need someone to talk to. jaewon picks his words carefully and thinks twice before acting or speaking. he assess situations well and is the kind of guy who just seems to know what are the right words at the right time. with this ability, he code switches well and is able to speak and act differently to different groups of people (one consistent trait would be how talkative he is & his bright laughter coupled with his expressive reactions and overreactions). in school, jaewon is considered to be the apple of all his teachers' eyes because of his responsibility and his ability to manage so many commitments at the same time. coupled together with his loyalty towards any friend group that he is in, most of his school mates admire jaewon to a certain extent. it's always nice to have a friend who is in the teachers' good books and would stick by your side when times get tough.
the class monitor that's just really sweet to everyone and is willing to stay back in school just to help you with your homework or school assignment or whatever you didn't understand back in class. but also the kind of classmate who just seems to laugh at everything you say, even if it's not even that funny (and you kinda just wanna whack him in the head and tell him to stop laughing so much).only hearing all things sweet, white lies to avoid heart breaks, a lone tear rolling down your rosy cheeks when things just get too much, having so much to say but not saying anything at all
jaewon is too worried about making everyone happy that it frequently takes a toll on his own creative expression and open-mindedness. he's one to push aside his own thoughts and feelings just to accomodate to others and is constantly worried if he's offended someone. it can get excessive to the point where jaewon doesn't feel like he's his own person but no one can seem to tell when he smiles and says that everything is okay. still, one thing that jaewon dislikes most about himself is that he wears his heart on his sleeve and it's easy to tell when something upsets or angers him. while his face gives his feelings away, jaewon protects his feelings well and doesn't express his thoughts into words no matter how much probing is done (all his friends are sick of him saying i'm okay, really. when they know it just means i'm upset but i don't wanna talk about it.) it has caused some arguments with his friends ( "do you not trust us enough to tell us what's bothering you" ). he's the dead fish that follows the flow and deviation from anything that is normal doesn't bode well with him - even if he's the one that's deviating. this is both a pro and a con for jaewon for it helps him step out of his comfort zone sometimes (especially when he's reluctant to do something but everyone in his friend group is willing to, jaewon will just it up and go with the flow) but this just makes him more passive than he already is and fuels his belief that he doesn't need to voice out his different opinions because it just doesn't matter. this need to follow the rules and stay within whatever is considered 'the norm' makes jaewon a generally high strung and easily stressed out. and while he seems to exude confidence, jaewon is secretly always afraid that people are judging him and that's probably one of his biggest fears. he doesn't take criticism well (his floorball coach telling him to buck the hell up is probably the only exception) and doesn't know how to respond when someone tells him his work is subpar or give him advice for how he can improve. when you want jaewon to listen to your constructive criticisms, you need to lace it with a lot of compliments and assurance that he's doing a great job but will do an even better job if he listens to the feedback. he works really hard to produce something he likes and to have someone shoot it down so quickly makes him really sad.
that one friend that just nods along to everyone's opinion and is sitting on the fence about everything because he doesn't wanna offend anyone or say anything wrong. it gets lowkey annoying especially when the group is split into an odd number and he has to say something. the close friend thats okay with casual/ playful insults but if you give him actual constructive criticism he just can't take it and needs you to instantly give praises.ENTRY 02

jo jaewon, the son of jo yongkyung and kim sooryeon, led a pretty normal life for a typical korean boy up until he was ten years old. even while he was schooling in south korea, jaewon was also one of the more popular ones. joining his middle school floorball team when he was in grade one definitely helped with that too. it was in his summer break, the transition between grade 3 and grade 4, that he remembers his father coming home one day and telling his family that they needed to move to california, usa.

the only thing the young jaewon knew was that his father worked for the Dohwa Engineering Company as an architect. so he didn't know why his father needed to be relocated. but jaewon would soon find out that his father needed to work on a long term project in california and was also tasked to oversee future projects the company would have in california.
and around december when jaewon was 10, the family packed their bags and left for california. his first semester at tolstone began when jaewon was 11.

a cultural shock soon followed when jaewon moved to tolstone. he was used to eating kimchi and vegetables for all his meals & speaking in korean to every person that he'd meet. his family barely ate fast food or this many potatoes and jaewon brushed up on his english so much that his brain physically hurt. despite all the teasing (mostly casual racism that jaewon didn't mind dealing with - he just took it as the typical minority life) he got in school for liking rice so much and it's starbucks not starbuckseu, jaewon made friends easily and was liked by many. his clumsy middle school english was deemed as cute by many (especially the older girls) and jaewon was just glad that he wasn't made fun of. as the stereotypes go, jaewon does well in school - both academically (he usually ranks anywhere between 5th to 10th place) and non-academically. whenever he gets praised for his grades and his good time management, he usually brushes it off with a it's worse than this in korea, i knew some seniors who sleep one hour a day as compared to his 6 hours.
overall, jaewon has gotten by pretty well throughout his 8 years in california. while he would sometimes hear a random stranger shout go back to your home, you chink (to which jaewon thinks: im korean), he wouldn't get offended and continues living his life as he always has been.
trivia
wants to move back to south korea when he grows older. unsure of whether he wants to apply for a local uni or apply for hanyang university or any university back in south korea. loves to write letters for his friends/ buy them gifts to remind them of how much he appreciates them! also really affectionate and loves holding hands, linking arms, pats on the back and hugs!! his guy friends thinks its Gay but it's not going to stop jaewon from putting his tiny head on their shoulders because his head feels too heavy. (but if the person feels/ looks visibly uncomfortable he will back off and take note) he also likes to compliment people and gives them out without a care in the world!! this makes him lowkey flirtatious without him knowing esp because his compliments will make you uwu wore braces for 2 years and took them out when he turned 17. people still aren't used to his braces-less teeth. wanted to be a professional floorball player but doesn't think he's good enough. so now he's kinda hoping to be a journalist or do something related to film (but he isn't entirely sure yet) maybe he could be a teacher too. doesn't drink coffee (he hates the bitter taste and doesn't like the coffee smell) but loves tea with all of his heart!! he is allergic to apples :( his lips will swell and there'll be a bad itch at the back of his throat. so he stays away from anything apple flavoured too. has had his first kiss when he was 16. doesn't play card games much but when he does he always seems to win? + he gets the hang of games really easily and is always willing to learn whatever game his friends play. he doesn't curse much but when he does, he does it in korean. loves IU with all of his heart and doesn't think she has any bad songs is also a big fan of db5k and suju and knows all of the choreo to their songs (he doesn't dare to dance in front of his friends because he doesn't think he's any good & he isn't known to be a dancer either). practices their songs and whatnot alone in his room. as you can tell he is a big kpop fan and doesn't know many english songs. calls everyone older than him noona/ hyung, even if they aren't korean because he's just used to honourifics. not using them feels weird to him. likes calling his korean friends by their korean names even though they hate it and just want him to use their english names

0600 wakes up. jaewon isn't one to laze around in bed when his alarms and would get up like the productive human being he is.
0700 by this time, he'd have finished showering, eating, putting on his makeup and will be waiting for his brother to be done with his breakfast.
0705 - 0710 leaves the house anywhere between this time with him in his brother's car and going to school.
0720 - 0725 by this time, he'd have reached summit high
0730 - 1500 the start and end of all the classes he has to take.
1600 - 1900 jaewon has floorball practice with the summit high team on tuesdays and thursdays. if competitions are around the corner, he'd also have training on fridays and on alternate saturdays.
1500 - 1900 on days where he doesn't have any club activities (aka,, never) (jk, he has no activities on fridays and the 1st and 3rd wednesdays of the month), jaewon waits in school for his brother to fetch him back home because he's too lazy to take the bus back & loves getting free rides. meanwhile, he'd either be at the floorball court practicing or at the basketball court playing ~basketball~ or studying at the school's library or any combination of the above. it really all depends on his mood.

LIFESTYLE he follows his weekly schedule everyday and leads a pretty normal life. it's difficult for jaewon to do anything to change his daily schedule, being a student and all, but he likes this routine that he has created for himself. while jaewon has signed himself up for a lot of school events and activities, he wouldn't have it any other way.
SCHOOL jaewon enjoys going to school. he enjoys seeing his friends and hanging out with his friends. he tries his best every semester to take subjects that he likes to continue to drive his passion for learning and studying. he's glad that he goes to the school with mostly asians because it makes him feel slightly at home (of course, it's different. in korea it was 97% koreans but the ~65% asian population in the school is good enough for him). being part of the school's floorball team, jaewon's school spirit ranks #1 and he loves it when the school does their cheers or sings the school song during their wins because he feels so happy that people actually care about his contributions to the school. when he's not the one participating, he will, sure as hell, go down to support whenever he can and show the whole of tolstone what summit's high school spirit is and that they're not just a bunch of asian nerds.
while jaewon won't consider himself part of the popular gang in his school, carrying his floorball stick around and walking about with one of the better players of the floorball team begs to differ. he thanks his ability to be good at a sport one reason as to why he racism he faced in america was significantly less than his other non-white friends. it's always good to be friends with someone who wins medals for the school, right? jaewon has a lot of connections in school (having your name written in the school's newspaper and going up to collect awards sure has its benefits) but would usually just choose to hang out with his floorball friends or the people who he's met in middle school. however, he places a lot of expectations on himself to do well in whatever he's involved himself in because he doesn't want people to label him as a let-down (no one does but he thinks they do).

jokimchi i think y'all can tell that i'm feeling really soft right now so,, i hope y'all know that i appreciate everyone here a lot and if your appreciation posts hasn't come up yet, it will soon! the last one i'm making for today has to go to my best hyung... jungwon! hi hyung, have i ever told you how much you mean to me and that i appreciate the fact that you always send me to school and send me back home. you are lowkey mean to me and ignore me almost all of the time so i do wish that you talk to me more instead of locking yourself up in the room when you come back home. mum says you're going through the adulthood phase rn so i hope that you get over it soon and start entertaining your favourite brother again! i know we are five years apart and you're too busy with your environmental science degree but i hope you know that whenever you have troubles you can always come to me! our car ride conversations are one of my favourite parts of the day because i love to hear you talk about what went on in your day and your opinions about the things that are happening in the world rn! your passion about Saving the Earth has really inspired me (i now bring a fork and spoon + the tupperware that mom has somewhere in the back of our kitchen cupboard everywhere i go and i no longer use straws!! are you proud of me?). you'll probably see this soon and when you do, please come out into the living room and accompany me while i watch tv!

jokimchi this is to my best friend who i love with my Whole Heart! i wanted to post an ugly picture of you but you are literally never ugly 🙄 anyway, thanks for bearing with my korean when we were both 10 and the only english phrase i was confident in saying was 'hello! i am jaewon. what's your name?' those were truly the good old days (i say this even though we are still only 18 lmao). i'm pretty sure your korean has also improved, right? especially because i always accidentally use korean phrases that you didn't understand back then. no offense but english is such an inadequate language,, anyway before all of you come after me (all my jap and chinese friends please,,, back me up here), let's get back to the topic!! samuel, you are such a gem and i love that you're always so energetic!! you are like a handphone charger that fills me to 100% battery and i always feel like i'm recharged whenever you are around! thank you for accepting me for who i am and reminding me to relax every now and then. i really appreciate that and sometimes, i do wish i can see life the way you do! here's to more weekends down at the beach together!

jokimchi this picture is a blurry mess but i think it describes our friendship quite well (esp with zhenhwa not getting the dress code right). but here's to the best floorball (and ) (and seniors) squad !! i still remeber going out with y'all on this day. zhen and jasper wanted to do a dramatic reenaction of all the cheesy kdramas i watch and i think y'all did a pretty good job!! you guys make trainings so fun and i'm so glad i decided to continue my floorball journey in tolstone with you guys! since there are so many of you guys i'll just state the thing i like best about you!!

@jcsp3ral3x henlo jasper, the best goalkeeper that any floorball team can ever ask for! like your stance when you're guarding our precious goal post, you are also really grounded in your beliefs and never waver in your thoughts. whenever you speak about something that you're passionate about, there's this spark in your eyes that you never notice so i'm telling you about it now! i admire your passion for floorball and i hope that life does great things for you!
@lizheeenehwa you were the first friend i made during the first floorball training at summit and i'm glad that we managed to become this close throughout the four years in summit! you are the most protective of this team that we have and i will always appreciate you for all the times you have helped me voice out my opinions when i'm too afraid to say it.... we also share a lot of the same beliefs which really helps a lot!! i feel like,, sometimes,, we do indeed share the one brain cell. we are so alike that some people think we're siblings. idk how many convenience stores we have entered where the cashier asks 'are yall siblings?' (they always think you're older though). i'm looking forward to more late night snacking and movie nights with you <3 (you are also highkey an airhead but that's okay because all of us still love you).
@woofil my other korean chingu!! you've followed me from middle school to high school and we have been through so much of me forcing you to eat the korean food that you've never tried before because your mother moved from korea to cali when she was 5 and doesn't know how to cook korean food :( i hope you enjoyed coming over to my place for korean meals and for accompanying me to all the kbbq restaurants (i'll bring you to korea and let you try ones that are 203842 times better!) i remember you were initially really shy but i'm glad we bonded over kdramas that your mother watches at 11pm while you watched with her in secret because you were supposed to sleep. i still think sung yuri from snow queen is the prettiest actress, dont you dare fight me with your 'kim taehee is prettier'.
@peaterpin ngl i was surprised when i saw you in summit high,, i didn't expect you to come here because it is literally 45 minutes from your house but i'm glad you're here and in the same floorball team as me again! middle school was fun and you introduced me to all the friends you had back in middle school and made me feel really welcomed! my American Experience would definitely not be the same without you and i might have crawled into a shell if you hadn't been my desk partner in our middle school classes & if you weren't in the floorball team in middle school too! when high school ends i will definitely miss the late night talks and sleepovers that you have at my house whenever you're too lazy to travel all the way back home!

jokimchi i was contemplating if i should post this but she was a big part of my life so,, i guess i will. she won't ever see this but hi qianyi, thanks for being my girlfriend for the past year,, 2017-2018 will always be remembered as days filled with laughter and days filled with you. i know the break up with mutual, and that we both knew this relationship wasn't going anywhere (and i know you were also unhappy that i was too committed in my extracurricular activities and i agree that i was increasingly paying less attention to you and you deserve a guy who is willing to shower you with all the love that i was unable to give you) and it really that both of us eventually felt that this relationship was a chore to maintain. but during that year i really felt so much happiness in my heart and seeing you just made me want to hug you and never let you go, you know? i remember finding you cute for taking mandarin level 2 with me in freshman year despite being chinese yourself (but then again, you've lived in cali your whole life so--). thanks for being my desk mate in our mandarin classes and enduring my lame jokes and dumb puns! when i think of first loves, just know that you'll be the name i think of. sometimes it still hurts when i see you in school (because i think of what we could have been) but i'm glad that you still say hi to me whenever we bump into each other along the hallways or at the canteen. it's a lot more awkward than it was back when we were freshman but i'm still lucky i'm still, sorta, friends with my ex.

jokimchi i didn't know you #hacked into my phone and took 4 photos + edited it in my phone so i'm gonna expose you. i would say you're the best neighbour but then again, there's samuel who has taken that spot(?) ngl i found you lowkey annoying when we first met because i just wanted to play with samuel but you kept coming in and joining us and i know you're his sister but i just wanted to play with samuel. alone (i sound like an overly attached boyfriend now but i swear im not ok). ANYWAY, watching how far the three of us has become makes my 마음 (i literally dont know what this means in english,, but it's something like,, the emotions in my heart???) very happy and flutter-y. i hope you know that i'll be here for every failed plan that you'll (yes you will) give up on but i'll try my very best to help you get through all of them (or,,, at least partially until you jump over to a new idea)! you and samuel were one of the major factors as to why my english improved as quickly as it did so i'll always be grateful for that!! & if you and samuel ever need a ride home just let me know and i will force jungwon-hyung to do it!

jokimchi the last time i saw you was ages ago and i hate that we only have ap stats together 😭 please remind me to give you a big hug when i see you (have i told you that you're great for hugging?) thanks for being there for me in middle school and accompanying me for lunch whenever i ate alone!! you also knew what kimchi was and i was the happiest!! i remember that one (1) time when you were got so injured because you got into a fight because of me :( i honestly was used to all those casually racist comments,, you really didn't have to do that for me!! you have been protecting me and standing up for me for the past 7 years now and my middle school life in tolstone would literally only revolve around floorball if it weren't for you, summer and samuel. i hope you've been using the supplies i bought for you (idk if they're of any good because i don't know anything about,, art & ap art history is kinda useless in telling me the difference between daniel smith and prismacolor) because i love seeing your art works and istg i would be the first person to buy your work and spend all of my money on you,, here's to the korea trip we did a 약속 도장 싸인 복사 (i think that's what you called a pinky promise? i still don't understand why y'all only do 2 steps but it's a lot simpler than how my friends in korea did it) on it!! you're going to have the time of your life there i can feel it in my bones <3

jokimchi 🤗 hehe i took this when we were doing the meeting with the summer gazette and i think i did a pretty good job at making you the Most Handsome Man Ever. i am immensely jealous of your wardrobe and how you can literally pull off anything but still look good!! i could never 😪 whenever you and samuel lend me your clothes to put on i feel like i look the most awkward. i think i only looked good in the overall plus the hoodie but i looked so awkward and it that bright yellow pants? idk how you make them look good bro. i think i'll always look good in my black tees! when we graduate from summit i'll miss all the times we hung around after school to discuss what to do with every month's paper because i am just a mediocre editorial assistant for the paper but you dabble in so many things like designing and editing and interviewing!! please impart me all of your knowledge or i will be the most sad :( i also am so glad that samuel introduced the two of us together that day when i unexpectedly crashed his house lmao. the three of us are a gr8910 trio and i bet no one here can name me a better one.

allie! it's you! i was told that i needed to come down to do an interview and i didn't expect it to be with you! it's competition season and i haven't spoken to you in ages, how have you and the rest of the team been doing?
hey jae! i heard the announcement today that summit's been winning the competitions so far. hopefully we move on to the finals. i really miss seeing you around.

alright, jae. i wished you were helping to edit and review this month's issue. it's going to be about stress levels at summit high! would you say that you're regularly stressed because of schoolwork?
jaewon thinks about the question for a moment. he does have a lot of things on his plate right now. but he enjoyed the subjects and activities he's enrolled in so he wouldn't say that they caused him stress.
yeah allie, i wish i could help you guys out,, after the season is over i'll definitely come down a lot more! but i don't think schoolwork makes me very stressed. i think studying is kinda easy to do and my friends back in korea do have it a lot worse than i do over here. but i'd say only my film production module has got me slightly stressed about because of the amount of group projects and assignments i have to submit. i still enjoy the class, though! i've learnt so many new techniques that i was never exposed to before.

on weekdays about 4-7 hours a day? i study on the weekend sometimes but that's mainly doing the film assignment that i have. i feel bad whenever i study for 4 hours, though. it makes me feel underprepared.
i'm curious. what exactly is it that you do when you study for so many hours in a day?
oh, i do my homework or extra practices that i can find in the assessment books i have or any other practices i can find on the internet. i also read up chapters in advanced so i know what the teacher's going to cover before they get to the subject. i'm currently 3 chapters ahead in my art history class and 2 for my stats class! i read a lot of mandarin books too and i count that as studying because i'm taking a mandarin class!
ahh i see! that sounds great. i wish i was ahead of my classes when i was a student too. anyway, you have extracurricular activities too, do those extra responsibilities cause you stress as well? or are there any non-school related problems that cause you stress?
hmm, not really. i guess i can plan my time relatively well. 24 hours is really enough to put in everything that i can and want to do in a day! and my extracurricular activities bring me more joy in my life so everything isn't about applying to college and graduating from high school. plus the friends i've made in these activities make everything more worthwhile!
what jaewon doesn't mention is the uncertainty of where he wants to bring his life to when he has to stop relying on his parents. college applications and his future career paths are constantly nagging him at the back of his mind and jaewon is struggling as he tries to figure out what he should do. but he doesn't want to come off as someone who's confused so he doesn't tell allie that.
you really have so much positivity, huh? well that's good to hear. i don't want you to be too stressed out about everything either. this is the last thing i have for you, jae. do you have anything to say to the faculty at summit high about students and stress levels?
hmm, i do wish some teachers cared more about the students here. i've had some teachers who would blatantly insult students or criticise them for their bad grades and it makes me so sad. aren't teachers supposed to be encouraging and supportive of their students? reverse psychology doesn't work all the time, you know? my teachers back in gyeonggi would literally stay back till 10pm or later just to help us with whatever problems or issues we faced and it could be helpful here too!
