I woke up at 4am this morning because of this dream I had. My face was tear stained. This is only a parttial recounting of the dream. It was pretty long:

In the dream, Jonghyun had been dating an older woman. The SHINee members and his girlfriend lived in the same house. For some time, Jonghyun had been neglecting his girlfriend. She attempts to make the relationship work, calling him more often, making him dinner, but he still doesn't react to her displays of affection. She's so tired of his lax attitude, that they get into an argument about it in the kitchen. Jonghyun becomes fed up with her supposed complaining, and tells her he doesn't love her. Her heart breaks when she hears him say it so passively, so casually.

I could feel her heartbreak. It felt like alcohol burning in a massive infected wound.

She leaves and locks herself in her room. Jonghyun tries to get her to come out, but she cusses at him instead. He cusses back and Jinki scolds him, saying he should never be angry at a woman, no matter how hateful her words are.

The girlfriend doesn't come out of her room for three days. Jinki attempts to enter, but she refuses to open the door. He tricks her into letting him in by tempting her with food, and behind him is Jonghyun. The pair discovers her bedroom to be bare, and her belongings packed. Onew states they need to talk before leaving the two alone.

Jonghyun is surprised to feel saddened by the empty space. He's at a loss for words. The woman caresses his cheek and tells him she's sorry. Jonghyun doesn't apologize for anything.

It isn't until a few days later, when SHINee is out doing promotions, that the girlfriend's two friends come to pick her up and take her stuff.

When SHINee returns home, Jinki discovers a letter on his bed. It's from the now ex-girlfriend, stating she hopes they can still be friends, and that throughout the whole ordeal with Jonghyun, her mother had died. She's in such a state of shock, her friend finishes the letter for her, saying the ex-girlfriend needs time to deal with her broken heart. Onew considered the ex-girlfriend to be like a close sister, and he becomes so angry, he marches into the kitchen, slams the letter into Jonghyun's chest, and shouts, "I hope your happy!"

Jonghyun reads the letter in disbelief and rushes to his ex-girlfriend's room, only to find her gone. It's then the emptiness of the room gets to him and he breaks down crying, realizing when he broke her heart, he broke his own as well. Minho doesn't want to comfort Jonghyun, he doesn't think he deserves it, but he does anyway. They lie in bed, Jonghyun sobbing and Minho hugging him. He doesn't say this whole mess is Jonghyun's fault. He doesn't have the heart to.
