         ⇒ The first thing you notice about miyoung is that she's very reserved.  She wont really talk to anyone except her members and the few who are truly close to her. She has a shell around her where she keeps her thoughts and feelings to herself. It takes a whiile for her to warm up to a person. miyoung used to be outgoing but She's been hurt in the past and therefore, keeps herself at a distance. because of her reserved personality, she is often seen as cold and misread as rude.

          ⇒ However, once you get to know her, it's nearly impossible to get this girl to stop talking.  You don't even need to be listening, she will ramble on about nothing. She never gets tired of talking and cant last more than 10 minutes withou talking.  However she sometimes talks too much that she often forgets what she was talking about in the first place.  she often goes on a tangent and starts talking about irrelevant things. she even talks in her sleep. 

       ⇒ despite all her talking, miyoung is very observant.  she notices the smallest things that people would normally not see.  She can tell when someone is feeling down or hiding something and is usually the first to figure out other peoples habits and likes/dislikes. She is thoughful of others feelings and notices when her actions or words affect them

        ⇒ miyoung is very reliable. she is always there when you need her whether it's a shoulder to cry on or just a little cheering up.  she hates not seeing a smile on her members and friends faces and will try to do anything to make them smie.  She keeps your secrets and promises to the grave and never leaves you hanging.  miyoung is willing to do anything for you without expecting anything in return but this sometimes ends up as miyoung getting taken advantage of

        ⇒ miyoung likes to try new things and explore different options. she always asks a lot of questions and seeks for an answer. She's open minded and willing to try anything.

        ⇒  miyoung doesn't like to rely on other people as she feels she is a burden to them, therefore she is extremely independent. she never asks for help and does everything on her own, fending for herself.

        ⇒ Miyoung hides this part of herself, but she had a very weird mind.  she thinks of things that normal people would never think of.  sometimes she gets stuck in her own 4-D world, zones out, and blurts stuff that doesnt make any sense, which often embarasses her.  She is scared of what others would think if they knew what she was thinking, so she keeps her weird thoughts to herself, only letting those close to her know what goes on in her mind. 

       ⇒ miyoung is very insecure about herself.  although she talks a lot, she is very careful about what she talks about.  She worries that other people will judge her and is very conscious of herself.  She blames everything on herself.

        ⇒ Miyoung gets very emotional. She often cries both good and bad tears, especially when watching a sad movie or when she's under a lot of stress.  She is always the first to cry and will cry the longest.  Laughing and crying withing the same hour is quite common for miyoung. Even the emotions of others affect her, if they feel upset, so will she.

        ⇒ overthinking is nothing new to miyoung.  she often loses sleep over small things such as if she said the right thing, why someone did what they did, what would happen if she acted differently.  This leads miyoung to get very stressed easily and overwhelmed

       ⇒ Everyone has this trait.  you just cant help but judge the people around you. miyoung knows how judgemental she is, but she can't help but naturally choose the person she believes is better than the other person. she becomes very biased because of this. This leads people to view miyoung 

Background :

       ⇒ On october 28th, 1994, Miyoung was born in sokcho, south korea.  however at the age of 1, her father was laid off of work. Money was extremely tight at the time so her parents had decided to send miyoung to her aunt in sydney, australia in hopes of a better and more comfortable life.  At first miyoung would only cry everyday for her parents, but slowly, her aunt became her parental figure as she raised her as her own child. The only time miyoung was able to go to korea to see her parents was when she was 5. however she cried seeing her real parents as she couldnt recognize them and saw them as strangers.  she learned korean as her first language since she stared learning while she still lived in korea and her aunt spoke korean at home so miyoung could still be connected to the korean language.  She quickly learned english, becoming fluent just as she had with korean. 

     ⇒ Growing up, miyoung was a very quiet child.  Her aunt, although loving, was very strict with miyoung. Miyoungs aunt wanted miyoung to grow up to be a proper woman with good manners. This led miyoung to be a very well behaved and obediant child.

       ⇒ miyoung went to a small school with 200 kids in each grade so she quickly got to know who everyone was.  At first, miyoung was a quiet wallflower with a few friends, but when middle school started, miyoung decided that she no longer wanted to be this quiet girl anymore so she just let herself go. Since she wasn't able to express herself at home, she expressed herself at school.  she was a ball of energy, constantly getting in trouble by teachers for talking. She was friends with almost the whole school, from the popular jocks to the nerds.

       ⇒ The love for music started when miyoung's aunt put her in piano lessons at the age of 6. Hyerim immediatly fell in love and decided that she was going to pursue music. two years later, she started flute lessons and at the age of 9, she joined the school's orchestra, learning the cello.  She was addicted to learning new instruments. She also had a huge passion for singing, taking part in her school chorus and plays, as well as the local theatre.

       ⇒ When she was 14, miyoung had secretly auditioned for jypent.. She had passed her auditions and moved back to her homeland, even though her aunt was against her decision. she had occasionally met with her real parents, though she was always very formal with them, still treating them as strangers, even thought they try hard to become close with her. 

       ⇒ Living in korea made miyoung feel like a foreigner in her own homeland. she knew the language, but there were cultural differences.  she couldnt adjust to korean life and people would always be rude to her if she did something they deemed disrespectful or weird when it was normal in australia such as talking informally to a stranger or making eyecontact or showing skinship. She felt very isolated and felt as if she didnt belong in korea,w even if she had made a lot of friends. 

       ⇒ During her time in jyp, miyoung was set to debut in multiple groups yet was never able to actually debut. Feeling as if she had no furute in sm, she had decided to leave jyp and start auditioning for other companies.  The earliest audition was for Mercy Music. She had passed the audition, starting the tiring trainee life all over again.

▸ex-close friend; groupmate // heo minhee / 21 / member of fairytale / miyoung and minhee met as trainees, miyoung was one of the reasons why minhee's singing has improved.  miyoung, having 6 years of training experienced, had helped minhee with her vocals, acting as some sort of mentor towards minhee. to be honest, miyoung was captivated by minhee's looks at first, and seeing her dance just made her more charmed by minhee which made miyoung approach minhee and help her with her vocals. but she also saw how busy minhee was and how she was on the verge of being stressed. she admired minhee's ambition. over time, miyoung and minhee had gotten close and miyoung was able to show minhee her true weird outgoing self.  the two had developed a sisterly bond with each other, telling each other their secrets and dreams. however their relationship changed once they debuted.  At first, both were happy to be debuting in the same group, but once the fame had gotten to minhee's head, their relationship changed. minhee began to look down on miyoung, making fun of her for not being able to debut in mulitple groups, and being weird. all the memories they made together didn't seem to matter to minhee. and miyoung just felt betrayed and heartbroken. Whenever Miyoung sees minhee, she acknowledges her presence but she doesnt talk or make eye contact with minhee.


  

▸aunt // Lee jisook / 54 / nurse / fc: kim sung ryung [actress] / miyoung has always treated jisook as her mother rather than her aunt, however ever since miyoung left for korea, their relationship has never been the same. jisoook was against miyoungs decision to pursue being an idol so there has always been a gap between them ever since miyoung left australia.  miyoung now acts awkward and formal whenever she talks to her aunt on the phone as there is a hint of guilt from leaving jisook alone in australia.
▸father // cho jangyul / 49 / construction worker / fc: choi moo sung / Jangyul is always busy so he rarely gets to see miyoung but he tries to spend as much time with her as possible. even with his small paycheck, he finds a way to buy miyoung clothes and other items in order to get closer to her.  he always has a smilewhen he sees miyoung and is very proud of her daughter, despite not being able to be apart of her childhood.  however, miyoung feels as if she should be very formal towards her parents and therefore keeps herself from getting close with them.
▸mother // cho jiyoung / 47 / waitress / fc: jin kyung [actress] / jiyoung isnt rich, however she carries the aura of a rich, sophisticated woman, making miyoung feel very intimidated by this aura which makes miyoung reluctant to open herself up to her mother. jiyoung tries very hard to become close to miyoung and always sends miyoung food or health items to make sure miyoung is healthy.  miyoung has a fear of disappointing her parents which contributes to her reluctance of getting close with her.

▸brotherlike figure // Son hyunwoo [shownu] / 25 / Member of monsta x / miyoung and hyunwoo became trainees for jyp around the same time in 2008. miyoung had noticed that hyunwoo was shy, he didn't really talk to the other trainees except for a select few so she had approached hyunwoo first. hyunw0o was very kind and smiled, but he was awkward and barely spoke to her.  Their personalities matched very well since miyoung did most of the talking, quickly becoming very close. he is one of the sweetest people that miyoung has ever met.  although he was quiet, he took care of miyoung making sure she slept/ate well and helped her with her dancing, becoming the brother that miyoung had never had. However in 2010, hyunwoo had left jyp, later joining starship entertainment. the two still kept in contact, staying close just as they had before. many people believe that they're dating because miyoung always calls hyunwoo cute, but she only thinks of him cute like a grandpa. Miyoung still calls him hyunwoo, his real name, instead of shownu since she met him as hyunwoo and he will always be the quiet, awkward trainee son hyunwoo to her.

▸Best friend // bae suzy / 23 / idol and actress / They met as trainees.  since they are the same age, they were able to get close fast along with their similar personalities.  they both have an outgoing and 4-D personalities and whenever they were together, they would get scolded for playing around too much.  Even though they were once competing in a spot for miss a, suzy is miyoungs best friend. they are always together and sometimes act like tom and jerry as they often bicker with each other. however at the end of the day, suzy is the number one person miyoung always goes to if she has a problem and trusts suzy with her life.
