TRAINEE BACKGROUND [ ⋆ ]  Hyemi began training in 2008 at the age of 14. Being overweight, Hyemi was immdeiately put on a strict diet. Only one meal a day. It was effective as Hyemi soon lost the weight. At JYP, Hyemi transformed into a completely different person. The once quiet girl had transformed into an outgoing and talkative person, often getting in trouble by the instructors for talking too much. 

JYP had plans for her and she was supposed to debut in a group with EXID's Hani, Sistar's Hyorin, Secret's Jiuen, and Bestie's Uji in 2009. However, right before debut, they had disbanded. It was a reality check for Hyemi. It seemed unbelievable that after only a year of training she would debut. She had gotten so close with the other girls however they all left the company, leaving Hyemi by herself. 

A year later in 2010, Hyemi had another opportunity to debut in MissA. But ultimately she was cut from the group as she was too similar to Suzy. Hyemi had no hope left and decided to leave JYP feeling as if she had no future there. She took a short month break before she started auditioning again, eventually passing the auditions for SM.

Trainee life was obviously hard. There were times when Hyemi just wanted to quit. The trainers were harsh, her diet was harsh, and she wanted to live a normal life. But everytime Hyemi kept on coming back to the SM building to keep training. It was 4 hard years before she was finally considered for the lineup of Red Velvet. Her singing had improved significantly and she was a pretty decent dancer. But she was cut from the group once again, losing to Wendy. Hyemi's self esteem was hurt extremely and Hyemi began feeling extremely self-consious with herself, trying to figure out why she wasn't able to debut. This was her third time she wasn't able to debut, something had to be wrong with her. Everytime she looked in the mirror, all she saw was disappointment. This mentality eventually led Hyemi to become anorexic. She thought she wasn't ablt to debut because she still wasn't skinny enough and she was afraid to become the same overweight girl she was before. Hyemi eventually left SM in order to get healthy again.

She went back home to Sokcho where she was finally able to get to a healthy weight again. The trainee life was tosic, but Hyemi still wanted to become a trainee. She had spent her whole teenage life training and she wasn't about to give up. And so, she auditioned for the first company that held auditions, Fantasia. And so, the tiring trainee life started all over again. A year after her audition, she was finally able to debut in Cherry Day. But it was another disappointment as they soon disbanded. Hyemi stayed with Fanstasia as she had gained hope after the sucess of Sophiya. Then in 2016, Nova debuted with a little success. It gave Hyemi hope for success when she compared it with the flop of Cherry Day. But she was met with disappointment yet again when she saw her hoobae's On and Off get more recognition. She could see the company get more and more into debt, but she still clinged on to the last bit of hope she had left. She was in a group that debuted and that was all that mattered. Now that she's thrown into a competition, Hyemi is ready to give it her all.

//Hyemi can easily be mistaken for an extrovert as she is very talkative and outgoing. It surprises some when she suddenly just withdraws and goes to be by herself. But she just needs some times to be by herself to recharge. Once she is recharged, it is nearly impossible to get this girl to stop talking. She really values conversations with other people, especially when the conversations get deep. She likes to learn how everyone is different and the different backgrounds everyone comes from since she didn't have much friends growing up. The only life she knows is her lonely childhood and a rough trainee life. She really tries to learn everything about that person so she asks a lot of questions. However sometimes she talks to much, forgetting what she was talking about in the first place. She enjoys talking so much that she even talks in her sleep.

//Hyemi really cherishes her members and friends since she didn't have many growing up so she is really willing to do anything for them. Coming from a poor background, Hyemi has faced many hardships so she doesn't want anyone else to face the same hardships. She moves around so no one else has to. But sometimes this ends up as Hyemi getting taken advantage of or taken for granted of.

//Often being seen as weird, Hyemi has a very creative mind, thinking of things that normal people usually dont think of. Sometimes she gets stuck in her own creative mind, leading to zoning out. Being as she didn't have a lot of toys as a child, Hyemi has used her mind to entertain herself. Now, she will sometimes say a comment out loud to entertain herself, but will confuse those around her. It's as if she has a little 'inside joke' with herself. She amuses herself but this sometimes makes people believe she is odd.

//Hyemi adapts her personality to those around her. She sees the situation she's in, and changes her personality accordingly. It allows her to be easy-going and comfortable for those around her, making it easy to make friends. She's open-minded, open to change and difference, and embraces people who are different.

//Emotions can often overpower Hyemi. If she's happy, shes absolute ecstatic and nothing can ruin her day. If she's mad, you can literally see steam come our of her ears. But this also means that Hyemi cries more than she would like to admit. Sometimes she feels like anything can make her cry, not necassarily making her upset. //Being previously made fun of because of how she looks, Hyemi became very insecure about herself. She isn't confident in herself and feels as if she has to hide part of herself. Even when she talks, she is very careful about what she talks about. She is always in fear of judgemet and feels like she is always being judged. It's not because she is trying to modest, she truly believes that she doesn't deserve the compliments given to her because they're not true. This also makes her self-critical. //Overthinking is exhausting, literally. Hyemi often loses sleep over small things such as if she said the right thing, why someone did what they did, or what would happen if she acted differently. Hyemi tries to find meaning in everything, over analyzing everything. Her inner child comes out when she is overthinking. She always wants to know the 'why'. Why is it hot out today. Why she shouldn't talk to strangers. Why she shouldnt give candy out to children. This often leads her to ponder the meaning of life.

//Hyemi craves affection, always looking for more whether its a pat on the head or a hug or holding hands. She loves love. When she wants affection, she always goes to the mom of the group and acts cute for affection. Hyemi was a lonely child so she's making up for all the affection she didn't have now. Once someone gives her affection, she will cling on to that person, always following them until they stop giving her affection. Then she will move on to someone else to give her affection.

//Hyemi is an absolute perfectionist. She pays meticulous attention to details and is very organized. Everything has a place and there is a place for everything. However this often leads to Hyemi nagging the other members. If she sees a member leave a mess, she find hunt them down and scold them. She also strives to make herself perfect, often overworking herself.
 

BACKGROUND [ ⋆ ] Park Hyemi liked to imagine herself entering the world by riding a big slide out of her mom on the fateful day of June 10, 1994. She was born in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea. Hyemi, unfortunately, was born into a family that was poor, but Hyemi hadn;t noticed growing up as she thought it was normal to not have a lot of money. She became the daughter of Park Jaesuk and Park Miyoung and the younger sister of the queen herself, Park Hyerim, who was three years older. People would practically bow down to Hyerim, She was able to get anything she wanted with her good looks and her sweet words. Hyemi, on the other hand, was a chubby girl who would barely talk to anyone. She would constantly get compared to Hyerim, how could a princess like Hyerim be related to the overweight, nearly mute Hyemi. But despite all the comparisons, Hyerim was a very caring and loving older sister to Hyemi.

Tragedy struck the Park family. Hyemi's father, Jaesuk, was constantly worried about money and heavily smoked cigarettes to relieve the stress. Eventually, he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1998 when Hyemi was 4. They had moved to Sokcho, Gangwon-do for a better hospital specialized in lung cancer. Medical bills piled up and loans were being taken out. Her father had fought for 2 years until the angels took him to heaven. Only 6, Hyemi had not yet understood the concept of death. She had just thought her father was taking a long nap. Her mother, Miyoung, had to take multiple jobs to support the family. Hyerim, who was 9, would occasionally go with her mom to her jobs after school and help work but most of the times she would watch after Hyemi. Both girls would clean up the house and help out their mother as much as a 9 and 6 year old could. It was lonely without their mother or father, but atleast they had each other. During these times Hyerim had developed a strong sisterly bond during these times, only able to rely on one another.

Hyemi was an extremely quiet child growing up. She didnt need to talk because Hyerim was her voice for her and always spoke for Hyemi from talking to cashiers at the grocery store to aunts and uncles visiting the two girls. Just being with Hyerim is one of Hyemi's favorite childhood memories. Hyerim was one of the main reasons why Hyemi became an idol. Hyerim was a fan of DBSK, Super Junior, and Big Bang, eventually getting Hyemi into them too.The two girls would put on mini concerts performing DBSK, Super Junior , and Big Bang songs for their exhausted mother, Hyerim being the rapper and Hyemi singing. Turns out, Hyemi was actually good at singing and she enjoyed it.

Hyemi absolutely hated going to school. She was poor, overweight, and quiet, so not many people wanted to be friends with her. Kids are mean. Some even made fun of her weight and was constantly told that she was the adopted sister of the beautiful Hyreim, or was a disappointment to her parents. Her parents were hoping for another beautiful girl, but instead got stuck with her. Some would even go as saying that the reason why her father passed away was to get away from her.

Hyemi was only 14 when she became a trainee. She was grocery shoppinig with 17 year old Hyerim when Hyerim was approached by JYP scouts. However Hyerim turned them down as she didn't want to live the idol life. They then turned to Hyemi. Maybe if she lost the weight, she too would be beautiful like her older sister. Hyemi, innocently thinking about being rich and giving money to her struggling mother, had agreed and went to audition. Although her singing skills were not the best, they were decent enough to get Hyemi to pass. Leaving Hyerim and her mother behind in Sokcho, Hyemi moved to Seoul, living in one of JYP's dorms. Trainee life began and Hyemi faced the harsh reality of the trainee life.

Hyunwoo was very kind and smiled alot, but he was awkward and barely spoke to her, but their personalities matched well since Hyemi did most of the talking. Although he was quiet, Hyunwoo was one of the sweetest people that Hyemi has ever met. He took care of Hyemi making sure she slept/ate well by buying her food that was good for her diet and helped her with her dancing.  He became the brother that Hyemi never had. They both left JYP in 2010 but they still kept in touch. 


// Best Friend, Bae Joohyun [Irene] ♦ 27 ♦ Red Velvet ♦ Shy, Reserved, Mature, Selfless  ♦ Met as trainees in SM ♦ Hyemi had noticed that Joohyun didn't have many trainee friends as she appeared cold and was shy. She reminded Hyemi of Hyunwoo so she approached Joohyun, quickly befriending her. Joohyun really took care of Hyemi, from cooking meals for Hyemi to doing her laundry to making sure Hyemi is healthy and getting enough sleep. She was the one who woke up Hyemi and got her ready for school and she was the one who tucked Hyemi in at night. Joohyun was more involved in Hyemi's life more than her own mother, and Hyemi sees Joohyun as a motherly figure to her. Even when Joohyun was busy promoting with Red Velvet, she would still check on Hyemi at Fantasia. to make sure she's healthy. While Hyemi acts like a grandma to her members, towards Joohyun she acts like a total baby. She shows a lot of aegyo and cuteness towards Joohyun and is constantly looking for Joohyun's affections.

Baekhyun is a ball of positive energy that shines.  He isnt afraid to ruin his image for the entertainment of others.  He is confident and isnt afraid to express himself comfortably.  Baekhyun has an adaptable personality.  He jokes around and has a personality perfect for variety shows but in front of cameras and on stage, he acts professionaly.  He's aware of the type of situations hes in and adapts his attitude such as being more playful with s and people he is close with but more quiet and mature with some his senior or other artists. He's outgoing but kind and humble at the same time.  He cares about those around him and will take action if something he thinks is not right.

RELATIONSHIP [ ⋆ ] Baekhyun and Hyemi are your typical 'best friends who are now dating each other' couple, who started dating December 19, 2016. At first, dating Baekhyun was a dream come true. I mean, who doesn't want to date Baekhyun? He treated Hyemi like a princess, always doing anything to make her smile. Hyemi trusted him with her life, as did he with Hyemi. They were the 'perfect couple'. But Baekhyun is apart of Exo, one of the most popular boy groups. He couldn't always be there for Hyemi as his schedule was always packed. Most of the time, it felt like they were in a long distance relationship, even though they were both in the same city. Sometimes, Hyemi felt like she wasnt even in a relationship, just another one of Baekhyun's fangirls who believed they were dating him. She missed the late night conversations they used to have or watching movies together. Although she frequently talked to him on the phone and saw him on tv, it wasn't the same as being with him in person. She loves him, and she knows he loves her, but it's lonely. Maybe it would've been better if they just had stayed friends instead of entering this lonely relationship.

HISTORY [ ⋆ ] They met as trainees when Baekhyun joined SM in 2011, both being in the same vocal classes. They quickly became friends as they were both talkative.  With both of them in the same room, there was nonstop talk, with them getting in trouble by the vocal teachers for talking too much. They became very close friends however, Baekhyun was set to debut.  In 2012, he left Hyemi to debut in Exo.  Since they were in the same company, it was easier to see Baekhyun. He would always stop by the training rooms to check up on Hyemi. But after Hyemi left SM, it was harder. Baekhyun was busy with schedules, so he couldn't visit Hyemi at Fantasia.

When it was revealed that Baekhyun and Taeyeon were dating in 2014, Hyemi was happy for them.  Taeyeon was always nice towards Hyemi and took care of her when Hyemi was a trainee in SM while Baekhyun was her best friend so she couldnt be happier. However, halfway through their relationship, Hyemi gained feelings for Baekhyun and started feeling jealous of the relationship.

Hyemi slowly came to realize that Baekhyun was her ideal type.  He matched her description perfectly and everytime she was asked her ideal type, she began to think of Baekhyun as she described him.  She always knew he was handsome and charming, hwoever she just saw him differently now.  Being around him, she got so nervous.  She couldn't wait until the time where she could see him again and dreaded the goodbyes.

After Baekhyun and Taeyeon broke up in 2015, Baekhyun put more of an effort to spend more time with Hyemi. After his schedules would end, instead of going back to his dorm to rest, he would visit Hyemi at Fantasia and treat her to a meal. Hyemi had noticed that Baekhyun began acting differently around her, showing more skinship towards Hyemi and showing a more tough and manly side to him.  They both felt that just the two of them was so natural and 'meant to be' (to add some more clicheness) It took a year before Baekhyun confessed.

Minhyuk is the literal sun, having a very outgoing personality with a smile always on his face.  he is a happy person and strives to make those around him happy too. minhyuk is all about affection and isnt afraid to show it. he has a cheerful personality and a natural joker, always cheering those around him up and making people smile with his jokes. people are instantly drawn to him. he knows how to entertain people and is the 'mood maker' of monsta x. despite his outgoing personality, he doesn't really open up to people easily as if he has two sides to him, one he shows to people and the one he keeps private.  it appears as if he's an open book because of his loudness, but he is quite reserved probably due to the fact that he actually has low self esteem. he doesnt like to show his sensitive side or his insecurities. one of his biggest weaknesses is when he compares himself to others and he gets stressed from this. he has developed a habit of asking others for feedback on him and constantly wants to improve himself.

RELATIONSHIP [ ⋆ ] Best Friends; It's like a typical kdrama to be honest. Baekhyun would be the main male lead that always gets the girl and Minhyuk would be the 2nd lead who never wins, therefore he wasn't able to get the girl in the end. It's a one sided love. The way Minhyuk's eyes follow Hyemi like an overprotective boyfriend watching over their girlfriend and how he's more gentle towards Hyemi. It was obvious to anyone that he fell for Hyemi. Obvious to everybody but Hyemi of course. Why would her best friend have a crush on her when they know she's dating Baekhyun. But some people started to notice the way Hyemi's eyes light up when she talks to/about Minhyuk or smiles at even the slightest mention of him. It's only because he's her best friend, right? 

Whenever they are in the same room, Hyemi and minhyuk are always together. they never stop talking to each other. Minhyuk, although popular, isn't nearly as popular as Baekhyun, therefore he has more free time. He was the one who was there for Hyemi when Baekhyun wasnt.  Hyemi began relying more on Minhyuk than Baekhyun.

HISTORY [ ⋆ ] they met with through hyunwoo in 2011. Hyemi would visit Hyunwoo at the starship buiilding often, bringing Hyunwoo food to make sure he ate well and was training well. during these visits, Hyemi had met Minhyuk who was friends with Hyunwoo. they have similar personalities so through the times they met when Hyemi visited, they quickly got close. Hyemi soon brought food for both Hyunwoo and Minhyuk and sometimes would eat out together after the boys finished their training.  Hyunwoo and Minhyuk would also visit Hyemi at SM and Fantasia, which the trio had earned the nickname "the three muskateers" from the other trainees.

honestly, from the moment she met him, Hyemi had always been captivated by minhyuk. his personality was irresistable, she was instantly drawn to him. she liked how easy it was to get along with him and how she always had a smile on her face when he was around.  But that was it. She didn't see him as anything but a close friend. She was too focused on training to have a crush on anyone anyway.

From the moment he met her, Minhyuk couldnt take his eyes off of Hyemi. she was gorgeous, he had developed a crush on her instantly. he wanted that pretty smile to never leave her face. he wanted to always be there for her. minhyuk had never been afraid to show his affection, but he also had training to focus on. he had been in 3 other companies prior to starship. starship could be his only chance left to debut. he tried to fight his crush on Hyemi, but you cant control how you feel. despite trying to hide his feelings, minhyuk would find catch himself staring at Hyemi a minute too long. maybe if they weren't trainees, if their career and future didnt depend on training, maybe then would he pursue her. 

Finding out about Hyemi and Baekhyun being in a relationship from Hyemi herself absolutely broke his heart. Maybe he should've confessed to her before Baekhyun did. Seeing Hyemi and Baekhyun was painful for him, but he smiled through it. Hyemi was happy, so he should be too right? No matter how hard he tried to get over Hyemi, he just couldnt. 
 

STATUS [ ⋆ ] Just Best Friends for now; Poor Minhyuk has to deal with being in the friend-zone and seeing Hyemi with another man. Minhyuk tries to get over her, but everytime Hyemi gets lonely he finds himself going back to comfort her. After Hyemi and Baekhyun break-up, Minhyuk finally has his chance to go after Hyemi

OTHER [ ⋆ ] 
// Skinship is very natural to Minhyuk so Hyemi is used to his skinship (though Baekhyun isnt too fond of it)
// Minhyuk had tried distancing himself from Hyemi to get over her, but this made her sad so he stopped
// Minhyuk is the one who suggested Hyemi to dye her hair blonde during their trainee days and was with her when she dyed it for the first time
//  Minhyuk bought Hyemi her precious goldfish since she found them cute

ANY LAST COMMENTS [ ⋆ ] First of all, hi. I hope you like her! I hope she fits the plotline and sorry for the sob story. Also I love the story plot! It kinda rmeinds me of YG's survival show 'Win' where it was Winner and Ikon against each other. Anyways Good luck with the story!
